Let me start by saying the work you receive here will be top tier. The thing is this is you will pay outrageously overpriced amount for the work if you have a specialty vehicle or just like to burn money to go to a place that looks cool and has bells and whistles then cool. But I felt robbed by this place. If they want to charge their Nichols Hills rich clients out the nose that's fine. They can afford it. But it's really low to exploit low income customers -which driving an 11 year old high mileage economy car should have made that clear. Anyhow, I Went to another reputable mechanic with their quote of recommended repairs that I declined. Some of them I was told were not truly. I just bought a truck, and as many of you know, you always inherit a problem. The truck had an oil leak. Admittedly it seemed to run rough as well. I changed the spark plugs at home, but it still had some hiccups. After having them look at it they identified the oil leak (valve cover gasket), and recommended changing the fuel filter. Note the truck runs like a top, despite being over 40 years old. read more

I've been taking my vehicles to Beck's for routine servicing for 2 years now. The service has always been impeccable. This week my Volvo threw a trouble code and developed a whining noise, so I took it in. Staff was very upfront that this was a unique trouble code and even if I paid for the diagnostics and smoke tests, it still might not tell them anything and I'd have to take it to a speciality shop. Unfortunately, the tests didn't yield any meaningful results but the staff refused to charge me anything for the tests. Even after I asked if we could split it, they felt it wasn't right to pass that charge along given there were no results. Customer service is absolutely terrible! I called for a service and wanted to get an estimate for my car. The female customer service representative picked it up and immediately gave me attitude. It sounds like she doesn't want to be there or help with anything. I don't know what happened to her but when I requested to talk to the business owner she said the owner isn't there and said "I am sorry you have having such a bad day" I asked her that she didn't need to be rude and she laughed so loud like I told her a funny joke and replied with prayer with Jesus name is she mentally ok? What's going on with this person with this business? I asked the business owner name so I can try to get the service but she didn't even listen to what I and and kept on saying "I am sorry you are sad and angry and having a really bad day" wow! One of the better businesses I've been to. They diagnosed and fixed the issues with my car. Nick was professional and courteous. He seemed to know what he was doing, and my car drives a lot better since he's serviced it. A Honda dealership had quoted me $700+ for power steering pump replacement, which apparently did not need to be replaced. These guys resolved the issues in under $300. I have a 2013 Volkswagen that won't hold a charge, even with a new battery. After we put in the new battery and it still didn't work, I called Beck's to see if we could get it in. I think every woman in the world will be pleased when a woman answers the phone at a garage. She listened, asked questions, took notes, and was polite and friendly. I took my car in on a Friday morning. They ran all the tests they could on it, without having access to VW dealership computers. They ruled out everything they could before calling me. The guy who called me could not have been nicer, explaining it to me in simple terms without making me feel like an idiot. He gave me plenty of information so I could talk to VW without stammering around like someone who doesn't know what she's talking about. When I went to pick it up, Jeff walked out to my car with me, and we talked through the problems again, before I took it to the dealer service department. Suffice it to say, OKC VW did not treat me with the same tenderness, care or concern. I've taken my car to Beck's for 3 issues over the last year. 2 of those issues were not repaired correctly on the first trip. I understand these things happen occasionally, and it happens at all shops, not just Beck's. They did correct the issues when I came back in, but after an improperly installed belt broke wile driving, I decided I would no longer have my car worked on there. I recently needed a pair of sensors replaced, one of which was already replaced by Beck's and would have been covered by warranty there. I chose to take it to another mechanic, who kindly informed me that multiple hoses, including the fuel hose, were left unclamped. I feel this lack of attention to detail across multiple repairs is indicative of the quality of work done in this shop. read more

They have an after hours drop-off system, and they will even help take you to and from home/work if you're dropping off your car. That's all great, but that's not why I'm a Beck's advocate. Beck's is great because they listen. They listen to your concerns about your vehicle. They listen to your vehicle. Most of all, they listen to their own common sense. Cars don't fix themselves, and they don't always break down in predictable ways. And not every car is a candidate for every possible service. I went to another shop and got an estimate for a new fuel pump that was almost double what I paid at Beck's. They've always taken the time to inspect my truck and let me know whether anything else needs my attention, but they don't pressure me to have the work done. Came in based on the reviews of others & I must agree, Beck's Garage delivers stellar service! I called to schedule an oil change and tire rotation & they got me in on the same day. I must warn you, this isn't a quick service, prepare to wait at least an hour and a half. The wait is worth the quality service though. They didn't pressure me whatsoever to purchase unnecessary items & the total price for oil change, tire rotation & checking all fluids, etc. was $53. Update: I took the car to another mechanic who looked at me like I had two heads when I told them Beck's garage said my engine is shot and needs a rebuild. His exact words were "That's a good, clean engine". The new mechanic fixed the valve cover with a simple silicone (?) seal until the part comes in and the problem is, in fact, fixed. Simple, inexpensive. In response to Beck's owner below, I'm curious why he would say replacing the valve cover wouldn't fix my valve leak problem when their own mechanic said that was the problem. Oil leaking from the broken valve cover is literally the problem, by their own account. Not only that, the guy I talked to (Zeke?) said specifically that they don't do that there after I asked it they could fix it. Which is it? Will that not fix my problem or do you not do that there? You should probably get your story straight. Also, claiming that other mechanics are some sort of deviants who all have "girlie calendars" on their walls is childish and pretty unprofessional. And of course most shops are dirty. Those are hardworking mechanics who are busy actually repairing cars. Original review: I took my car here for an oil leak. I told the guy on the phone I had small amount of white smoke coming from the engine intermittently and that I suspected it was leaking from a valve as there's fresh oil around it and it's hitting the hot engine and smoking. After Beck's inspected it I was informed the timing belt was worn (which I was aware of) and that they really needed to get deeper into the engine to look around more because the engine is noisy (not why I brought it in), which was going to cost me, but ultimately I was told I would need a $5-6k engine rebuild because the engine is shot, but they don't do rebuilds there and don't know anyone that does (interesting). Which was quite a shocker for me as I've had the car for barely over 6 months and took it to two different mechanics for an inspection after purchase who both marveled at what great shape the engine is in, especially for a used car as old as it is (which is why I bought it). Strange how the engine went from very good to completely shot in such a short time. But what about the oil leak, I asked. That's why I came in there. He didn't have an answer and had to put me on hold and when he came back informed me that the leak was, indeed, coming from the valve cover. Well, can you fix it? No, I was told, they don't do that there. They don't do that there? What do they do there? Here's the thing: the car is a beater, but I love it. It has some minor problems but is a reliable car even if it isn't a looker. But when you drive a beater there are some people that judge you. If you're driving a beater that isn't even from this millennium obviously you don't have any money, right? Funny thing, that. Some of us have plenty of money, due in part to driving beaters and not having to make car payments. I just wanted the oil leak fixed. Money wasn't an issue for me. Before you take your car here take a good look at pictures of the place, which I foolishly did not do. What do you notice? An emphasis on image. Lots of vintage decorations. Picture-perfect. This is an image-conscious mechanic not an actual repair-conscious mechanic. Fixing something as simple as a valve cover on a beater doesn't really vibe with their image. Had I pulled in there in a beamer I bet I'd be singing a different tune right now. I'm going to take the car back to my old mechanic in Yukon, who I loved (I'm in Gatewood now, so it's quite a drive, which was why I was hoping to find a good mechanic who's closer), and see what he says about the engine. Either way, I know he's not above replacing a valve cover. read more

Yesterday ( sunday) as was only planning on driving through Oklahoma when my van decided it wanted to stay... on the freeway it made this choice... ugh ! I got it towed to the nearest hotel since all the shops were closed I got onto yelp to find the right shop. I called a few (believe me) ! Then a found Beck"s! When I called them they were so kind.
