She always has very unique finds that are perfect for gifts, or yourself! Most recently, I purchased a jar of elderberry and grape jam from her at the Indy Winters Farmers Market. It was delicious and reasonably priced. You'll mostly notice Laura's featherwork jewelry and goodies. While I can't say that they're for me, they definitely make a statement and can turn an eye...to say the least. Laura is incredibly nice and just another reason to give this place a shot (whether at their farm or at a local event).

Maybe you're looking for a feathered mask for a party? Fret not, Laura, Queen Feather, has you covered. I have made all of my Featherwerks purchases at the Indy Winter Farmers Market. My favorite part of every purchase experience has been listening to Laura explain what types of feathers are being used, how she gathered them and the general story behind the products. She has a crafty eye that could make even the dullest plumage into a work of art. Not only are they art, but extremely affordable - $8 for handcrafted and local earrings? I think I can pull that off ;) The feathers are gathered in a variety of ways, but most often they are compiled following the slaughter of the Farm's chickens for meat. **thought: this is definitely the first time I've used the word "slaughter" in a review...**

The park has restrooms, a basketball court, playground equipment to climb on, and a splash pad, so there's plenty to keep kids entertained while you browse. The Thursday I visited, there was a BBQ truck, coffee truck, shaved ice truck, and a pizza truck. There were also a couple of bread vendors, meat vendors, sweet treat vendors, and an infused olive oil vendor that ended up being my favorite. In addition, there were other local vendors and a few home repair booths. I wouldn't make a special trip just for the market since it's on the smaller side, unless you're looking for something specific. However, if you're already planning a trip to the park or have kids who would enjoy an outdoor outing, it's definitely worth walking through while your kids enjoy the park.

There was only one vendor with produce, probably because it's early in the season. That vendor had beautiful local strawberries that I bought. (Best I've had this season). There were two vendors selling local meats, one selling eggs, one selling honey and a Grilliant food truck selling brats, hot dogs, etc. Other vendors were selling crafts or commercial products. I would have preferred seeing less (or no) commercial products and more farm products. People were friendly. I did enjoy seeing and talking to neighbors. There was a small area for kids to play or draw with chalk. The library also had their bookmobile at the park. Parking is limited especially if a lot of people using the park. There are nice restroom facilities on site.

The market was festive with music playing and over 80 local vendors. Vendor tents are spread out with lots of space. A yoga class was offered near the amphitheater stage. We found a good mix of vendors with about a dozen selling local produce, my primary interest. The veggies looked fresh and I bought corn, dill and the most beautiful and freshest eggplants that I have ever seen. Prices were reasonable. Venders were selling everything from baked goods, local meats, fresh cut flowers and honey. There were some vendors selling craft and artisan items. Most notable to me was a vendor selling beautiful hand crafted leather items. We saw about a dozen food trucks selling breakfast items, coffee, smoothies, donuts and more. I thought the food trucks were on the expensive side but I only checked out a couple. Vendors were friendly and engaging for the most part. I like interacting with the local farm crowd. I'll be back.

Many food trucks, I had close free parking within half a block (and the blocks are smallish), it radiates out in 4 blocked streets from the center, with everything I expected in farm stands, food trucks, and unique items. The organizers have done a fantastic job with this market. There are broad sidewalks behind all the rows, to escape the "crowd" but really I found the density of crowd perfectly pleasant, not too much, just cheerful, and there were plenty of benches and steps to sit on for a quick break. Plenty of spots to sit with food, plenty of space for each stand. Overall, I've seen markets across the country and give this 5 stars for being just super pleasant in every regard. People of Lafayette area are so friendly and cheerful, too! Enjoy! P.S. If you do park near the Courthouse, you're entering at the food trucks so that's a nice way to end with a meal as you return to the car! I'll attach images of some of my vegetable purchases.

Given the great location, you can also explore all of the adjacent shops and restaurants while you are there. We're especially a fan of the Revolution Bakery.

The festival admission includes two fresh cuttings of any sunflowers of your choosing as well as three zinnia cuts. The admission also includes tractor & train rides around the farm, access to the big slides (child sizes too) playgrounds and the opportunity to go apple picking for an additional fee. Prices are all pretty reasonable for an event like this one and parking is free. The staff are very helpful and friendly. They have activities for kids to keep them busy and entertained. 10/10 will be returning again next year.
