I stopped here a couple weeks ago and found out that none of the food was organic. Very disappointing, I thought that was the point.

This farmers market was well organized and they had a lot of different vendors here. I did notice that you must get here early because by 11am some vendors are running out of items. There was this corn vendor and that line was so long but I did notice that he sold out by 11:30an. People were talking about how sweet the corn is from there. I more so came to the farmers market to come window shop but I did end up buying a lemonade and some ice cream. The lemonade was very refreshing and delicious. I was happy I bought the lemonade and the price was not bad at all. It was $7 for a nice size. I also ended up seeing the dog store at the event so of course I could not leave without buying my dog some dog treats which she really enjoyed them. I will definitely be coming back here to this market. It is in great location also.

The fresh corn line stayed long until the moment they sold out. I was thirsty and the lemonade from the popcorn and lemonade stand was tasty. I will definitely be back to provide them with repeat business. SPOILER ALERT: Overall, this was a great farmers' market, but there were way too many dogs. I also noticed several dogs relieving themselves mid-walk, right on the concrete, which I found pretty gross, especially with so much food around. Germs can easily spread in that environment. On top of that, I have a severe allergy to pet dander. Many people don't realize how this can affect others when they let their dogs wander instead of keeping them close on a leash. I grew up with dogs and know there are dog parks, but I wish people would leave their pets at home in the air conditioning when visiting places with food. This is the reason for a lower rating. Anyways, I will return early to get fresh fruit, corn, and the lemonade.

They have more than tomatoes, they've got other fresh produce, and fresh food - a full kitchen, actually. Serving up soups and sandwiches and walls and walls of candy if you have a sweet tooth. The area in the back for food was actually quite busy (it was lunch time on a Saturday), so I decided on just getting some sauces and fresh produce for home. I literally spent a good half hour going through every nook and cranny of this place. It truly transported me to another decade. Thankfully, I live pretty close. It's safe to say I'll be going back more often!

I guess this is how they maintain a salad bar that's so fresh and so clean. (No Outkast.) You animals used your grubby, bare hands one too many times to reach for the croutons, and now look what you did. Now we have to talk to someone if we want a salad, and point at what we want like a child. It's all your fault! Actually, it's probably for the best because the salad bar did look delectable and immaculate. So many fresh a clean vegetables! They also have an area with soup and chili, which the staff will also help you with. There are some tables in the salad bar area, so you can sit and eat your food inside the shop. Mostly, though, The Famous Tomato is a specialty food store. Lots of old fashioned candy, hot sauce and barbecue sauce, novelty sodas, so many different flavors of Moon Pies, and random things like salted peanuts in the shell. It's also a little farmers market, so you'll find lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. The Famous Tomato feels like a hidden gem, even though it's right there in plain sight in Speedway. For some reason, I would pass by it and I thought it was a Fazoli's? It's most certainly not, though. When you step inside, you'll see that this is a special place, with lots of special and local foods.

I'm been making the circuit of local farmers markets to find the best of the best. Pike Farmers…read moreMarket is small, but has some of the most interesting and friendly vendors that I've encountered. The market is held on Saturday mornings starting at 8:30 am in a church parking lot off Lafayette Road. Last Saturday, there were about 20 vendors selling baked goods, local meats, flowers and produce. The local Pike library had the bookmobile on site for guests to check out and return books. There was a fabulous bbq stand selling meals. But what caught my eye were the exquisite artisans. I saw some of the most beautiful woodworking pieces that I've seen. Tooled French rolling pins, beautiful hand crafted pens, bowls and more. Another booth, was a woman that made hand crafted leather pieces that rival any from Italy. She made extraordinary leather pillows and bags. A musician/singer played in the center of the market. Games were set up to entertain young people. There was a little seating. And, of course, "My Dad's Corn" was there selling bags of the freshest corn in Indiana. I bought veggies, herbs, cookies, bbq slider, hibiscus slushy and several cookies. Parking was easy in and out. I was there early and it wasn't crowded, but probably gets crowded later in the morning. This is a small, but great market. I'll be back.

It is a family friendly, dog friendly farmers market where the vendors are nearly all based within Pike Township. The volunteer staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. There is a good variety of vendors from a small batch coffee roaster, to a farm-to-table butcher, to woodworking, soap-making, organic pet food and treats, and several produce vendors selling either the plant to grow yourself, or the produce itself. For 2023 there will be rotating food vendors and food trucks along with a live music tent. Pike Farmers Market is young, but has grown rapidly in it's 2 years. Definitely worth checking out, or turning it in to a summer family routine!

I visited every booth and even got a free pair of swim goggles, a pencil sharpener in the shape of a fire extinguisher, and other great stuff. I recorded their rescue demo from a multi-story building. The firefighter landed with the rescued man through a window onto an air mattress. I went to a trailer to learn about prevention of home fires and how to signal for help from an upper floor. I have a video of me breaking a board with the foot! Moreover, an organization was offering free hot pancakes with 2% real maple syrup, butter, and mini bottled water. What a tasty treat as I have not had pancakes in a long time! This trip at the market and after learning about their process, I bought a $2 yellow squash from a vendor who uses essential oils to distract inserts/bugs and their own animals' waste as fertilizer. I will taste to determine if similar to other growers. Also, I bought again the $14 (6) frozen chicken eggrolls. I air fried one upon arriving at home. Yummy! Another new and happening morning! Very educational.
