    Lobster Tails

This place truely deserves an award. The food is amazing here. BOGO specials are everything here. You get good value for your money for sure. The ambiance is lots of music and a large crowd of hungry people and impatient uber/seamless people picking up food for delivery. It is what it is. This is a takeout place so if you want to try it pick up to go home or do delivery only! If you are picking it up understand that there will be a large crowd of people waiting because the food is really that good. I would wait on this line 100x over to eat the food that's how good it is. The sides are flavorful and the meals are wonderful. I highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for seafood and have some patience to deal with a crowd. Crab legs were good, sides are soulful. Mac and cheese and collard greens are great. The lobster is good as well. The catfish is amazing. Yams are so good. Rice and peas are everything. Great place to try there is a reason they have 5 locations! Don't let the stars fool you. Thanks Bed Stuy Fish Fry for being you!

    Crab Cakes

Here's an update on yet another BOGO deal. I ordered their crab cakes like I said I would. I'm going to leave ALL my thoughts and hopefully their management sees them, along with other reviews that mimic the same sentiments-- and maybe they'll make improvements. I like to start with "cons" just so I can end on a positive note. The one major complaint I've seen across the board is the lack of consistency. Not only do I agree but it also goes hand in hand with one of my biggest complaints which is the overall lack of customer service and it puts a damper on everything else. Sometimes, you get a platter that looks and tastes really good. Other days, you might get a platter with raw baked chicken (true story). Then there are days where the food looks crazy but tastes amazing. I don't blame the employees entirely because they're not training themselves. Ever since they implemented the BOGO deals on Ubereats, their wait times have almost tripled & their prices have raised--while the quality of their food/experience hasn't improved. It's very obvious that they cant keep up with the volume of orders AND do so in a timely manner, while maintaining a certain level of integrity with the food theyre serving. The last two times I ordered, my delivery drivers were waiting over 30 minutes for my food. They literally get packed with food couriers, there are videos that show how crazy it gets. You can't help but feel bad for the workers. This is why I lowkey hoped that with their new success, they wouldn't just open a bunch of random locations in other boroughs but actually expand and improve the locations they already had here. I'll be very honest about the fact that I LOATHE eating $30+ meals in plastic cafeteria containers. It gives cheap and lazy. Why not invest in better plating options? Seating? More space? I mean, cmon. Clearly, they have someone coming up with recipes/ideas that could actually compete against actual fine dining restaurants and it just feels like they're not only selling themselves short, but their patrons as well. I get that it's easier to keep things low maintenance/casual but I just know that they would do a lot better if they revamped their most popular locations to be a tad more upscale. Idk about yall, but I would for sure love a refined BSFF with dine-in options. The crab cakes were really good, but lord-- the presentation of both platters was terrible. You eat with your eyes first, everyone knows this! The platter pictured was actually the better of the two because the other (with Mac and collard greens) was a mess. The BOGO makes it easier to tolerate because imagine paying $40 for a plate this messy? & remember what I said earlier about consistency? If you go on their IG, the crab cakes in those videos are huge and uniform. Mine were ALL different sizes. Some pictures on here show them burnt. Not okay. It was the same issue with the crab stuffed salmon a few weeks ago. One had more stuffing than the other & it was obvious. They should be weighing them out, but when they're up to their necks in orders & need to pump food out, they're not paying attention to stuff like that. The flavor though? ON POINT. Barely any filler, FULL of delectable lump crab. Not too salty, just right. Very similar to Maryland style crab cakes. Sides? No complaints. This is why I have such a love/hate relationship with them. I just want them to do better, the community is going to support regardless. Slow down on the amount of orders you accept, give your employees time to care about what they're doing, quality control is needed! The food is too good to be playing games like this.

Rasta (Onion) pasta .... I would think the onion should be Julien so you barely taste but you know it's there.

I can say the workers do their best with what's given. The food keeps flowing but the dashers is overwhelming at times. But the food can be done better at times and the containers can be stronger. Big up to the workers will not bash you guys at all. I keep coming here for a reason but there is room for improvement ( owners )

Collard greens on point! Fried shrimp with blackened seasoning. Arrived hot and fresh!

Literally was charged this amount and if they didnt give me my receipt uber eats wouldve said I got the discounted price.

I dont know how the scam works but just letting you know purchase this establishments buy 1 get 1 free through uber eats- the calculations will literally add up to you paying for your food twice . Over all the food is good . At least the proteins are Z the sides always need something whether its seasoning or salt or water (sometimes that salt hand is way too heavy) They do however give great portions so I dont mind paying the prices they charge - I just know Im gonna have to schuz it up at home. I usually stick to American cuisine when I eat here because honestly I never like the way the oxtails or curry looks . No other complaints besides the way they charge for "specials" when there's literally no special lol . Here are some pics !

The mobile bike delivery guys hovering at the front of the counter is annoying. I wish they had a better system for them to pick up and separate the walk in customers from them. You have to ask them to move so you can see the food display. My fish was cooked to order so it took about 20 minutes. The servers were nice and accommodating. They have a buy 1 meal get 1 feee special that can't be beat. The food is a solid 4/5. The fish is seasoned and fried crunchy to perfection. The mac & cheese was a little dry but it was seasoned well, the collard greens were too sweet and I don't like sugary greens. The candied yams were good. They use a soft broken up cake or biscuits as a crust instead of pie crust for the peach cobbler. The serving I got was mostly of that cake/biscuit mixture and hardly any peaches. 0/5 would not recommend. The cakes on display looked good so I played myself getting that nasty peach cobbler The serving portion was huge and enough to share. I'll be back whenever I craved fried fish.

    Shrimp dinner

I am giving two stars because I usually have a good experience besides wait time. Today I ordered two shrimp dinners and when I bit into the shrimp it was a fishy taste. The shrimp were not fresh at all ...had to trash it vs risk getting sick.

I placed my order at 1248 and it was not ready til 138 they also marked it picked up as soon as I ordered it so I couldn't cancel it 2 fish dinners 2 chicken sandwiches and lobster Mac does not take 50 minutes to prepare then I ask to talk to a manager I get attitude from the workers like I'm in the wrong I should of looked at the reviews prior to ordering from this location

Hard tiny baby shrimp for big juicy shrimp prices.
    Ife M.

Now I remember why I STOPPED MESSING WITH THESE JOKERS. $21 for tiny hard fried shrimp, sub par Mac and perfume-y yams. Not buttery and sweet like they used to be. I had them OFF my list for a reason. Trying to do no meat. So I decided why not. Welp. That's what I get.

    Chicken Dinner Platter
    Simone E.

Ordered Lunch from here for the buy one, get one free promotion. I got two baked chicken, Mac and cheese and sautéed broccoli. I'm not too sure if there was confusion, but one container had the three choices, and the other had mashed potatoes instead of the Mac and cheese. I unfortunately am not a fan of potatoes. They were nice enough to put the Mac and cheese that was missing on the side. The chicken was a great size and tasted great, the Mac and the broccoli weren't as flavorful as well. The chicken carried the meal. I would give it 2.5/5 stars

The waitress was super professional and gave us suggestions from the menu items. She suggested the Peaches Punch (rum and positive vibes) and she did not disappoint. Peaches Punch was sweet and citrus. My fam is southern, migrated from North Carolina to Brooklyn, so I am not a stranger to southern food. My mother was a sou cook in a small water front hotel on the intercostal waterway, so I confess I am a chair side critic of collard greens. I do not like collards simmered too sweet. I also like to add vinegar. So we ordered the fried catfish, cornbread, and collard greens. The catfish arrived seasoned and crispy. I added a dash of Texas Petes hot sauce, they seriously offer a variety of hot sauce. Love it. The collard greens were inviting, aromatic, and tender. The smell of the collards reminded me of Sunday dinner after training. Yes, it tasted old school, I greatly appreciated the southern vibe and the great southern hospitality. The main entrées were affordable and the drinks were worth every penny. This is within walking distance from my home. I will definitely return for collard greens. Please make a date to sit out on the sidewalk and order those collards.

During a recent breakfast visit celebrating both my mother's birthday, I had a disappointing customer service experience. I would first like to recognize the young gentleman who served our table . A mexican young man. , He was professional, attentive, and courteous throughout our visit. The issue arose when I ordered a Peach Bellini that did not taste as expected. It lacked the peach flavor I had enjoyed on previous visits and tasted more like orange juice. I asked if it could be replaced with a ginger ale. My server was handling another table and zi was willing to wait. . But a women of Spanish decent light skin and heavy set approached our table and explained there were policies regarding returning something. . Rather than simply processing the substitution, she repeatedly encouraged me to keep the drink and offered to add more peach flavoring. I explained several times that I simply did not like the beverage and preferred a ginger ale instead.. I also told her I an celebrating a birthday abd do not wish to go back and forth. She tried to explain all drinks are made thd same which is not the same. She has to remember she does not just represent herself but the Peaches establishment. As a former bartender, I understand that drinks can vary, despite efforts at consistency. My concern was not the drink itself but the lengthy discussion. I felt pressured to justify a simple request during what was meant to be a special celebration Our bill exceeded $100, and as a longtime customer, I expected a more customer-focused response. If there is a formal policy regarding drink returns or exchanges, it would be helpful for it to be clearly posted. They eventually substituted it. But I should not have to goI though all that. Overall, my experiences at your restaurant have been very positive, which is why this incident stood out. The food was excellent, and our server was wonderful. I hope this feedback can be used as a coaching opportunity. Customer concerns are often best resolved through listening, empathy, and flexibility. .

I almost don't want to share this review for fear that the line may get longer but this restaurant is now one of the few that I recommend you go out of your way to try and enjoy. Their menu is classically simple but made with an abundance of care and no shortcuts in their cooking. As you are seated you are welcome to place your order in the front of the glass display, they cook everything in house and sometimes they run out of the specials so don't sleep on getting there on time. We ended up getting their lunch specials and picked one main and two sides. I know my girl loves Ox Tails and ended up getting the last plate with some candied yams and Mac and cheese. Let me tell you, we cleaned the plate and it was finger licking good!!! The jerk ribs were amazingly tender and fall off the bone. All of the sides were well portioned and absolutely flawless. Don't come here if you're on a diet there is only one way to enjoy this restaurant and it's to just dive in. FYI - you will need a nap after your meal. I wanted to love it so much especially since TikTok critic/MMA fighter Keith Lee visited them in 2023, but my experience was not like his. I want to say that online reviews are almost about accurate. They were out of cold salads and collard greens which was an issue for other customers at times as well. No problem, they were super helpful and offered an alternative but not a good one. I had steamed vegetables that mashed in my mouth like mashed potatoes when I took a bite. I did end up going to another spot for collard greens and potato salad because you can't have soul-food without that. I had the rib dinner with mac n cheese and yams and a tiny piece of complimentary cornbread. The ribs definitely taste amazing but they don't take off the membrane in the back which is slimy and gross. I left that part behind. The yams were sweet and good BUT.....that mac n cheese is NOT soul-food Mac n cheese. Here's the thing I figured out, they use such little cheese but season the noodles very well that you don't truly notice unless you love mac n cheese, which I do, so I noticed it lacked so much cheese but had seasoned noodles. The rib dinner was a 3/5 because ribs were great but sides needed help. I had rice and peas as an additional side and fried wings. The wings were ATROCIOUS! I ate the smallest one and didn't eat the rest. How can you serve such huge feathered wings like that? It was a nightmare. The feathers being on it turned me off. This tells me they don't make their food with care, they move quick to be one and done and I want my food cooked with love and care. They were also frozen wings that were thawed and seasoned, I know the difference. The rice and peas were okay 3/5 as well. Overall the food was not worth the hype. Customer service was beautiful for sure but the food was not it.

I also got a side order of just the BBQ ribs as well and found that the portions were very generous and the price was a steal!!! The oxtails were tender and the Mac n Cheese was solid and the Cabbage also was seasoned well. Flavor wise, I am a little particular as my all-time favorite Jamaican food spot was back in Boston but this was definitely a strong contender. The BBQ ribs were on the sweeter end and were not my personal favorite. The cornbread was a bit dry but coupled with the meal it worked out once incorporated. Overall, the next time I'm back I would love to try the rest of the dishes as they have a lot of great options at a super fair price point!!! Definitely check it out!

The rice was soggy, the gravy had an unpleasant taste, and the overall appearance of the food was a complete turn‑off. The portions were very small, some items were burnt, and even the cornbread portions were tiny. When I saw what they claimed was a peach cobbler, I was shocked. It looked more like a pastry stacked with peach slices straight from the can. Nothing about it looked homemade, and it was just as unappetizing as the rest of the meal.

For the couples dinner my wife and I arrived with another couple and sat down at a booth and waited for at least 10 min before a group walked that's when we were told the booth was reserved. We were told we could stay a while and we ate The food was good. For the party we didn't reserve but arrived and purchased food and drinks and danced. Outside of this establishment can be a bit rowdy with several double parked cars and loud obnoxious behavior. I have never witnessed a physical altercation but heard a verbal dispute and didn't stop to find out what happened.

I was disappointed with the behavior of the two workers in 95 south restaurant and when I went to the server/bartender I was so humble didn't yell and scream and didn't even want a refund from the salty food because I know when I can before the food was wonderful then on top of that with the bathroom situation I understand that you stand on your feet behind a bar to serve drinks and at one point you definitely have to use the bathroom but the way that worker came out stating she's gonna use the bathroom because she works there was so unprofessional and demanding and I waited for sometime also and if she would have ask in a fashionable manner why would I not let her go before me but when she said I'm gonna go because I work here I never been in a restaurant like that I thought the customers are supposed to be treated with respect but I guess I was wrong

One thing I cannot stand about restaurants or food trucks is having a large menu that you cannot…read moreconsistently deliver. If you have 10, 15, or 20 items on the menu but most of them are unavailable, what's the point? That pretty much describes my experience with Harlem Seafood Soul. I've driven past this food truck many times while operating the M60 and finally decided to stop and give it a try. Looking at the menu online, I was excited. Catfish, whiting, mac and cheese, collard greens, shrimp and grits, and other soul food favorites all sounded amazing. The problem came when I arrived around 1:30 in the afternoon. I wanted catfish. Sold out. I wanted whiting. Sold out. I wanted mac and cheese. Sold out. I wanted collard greens. Sold out. At that point, most of the options available were shrimp dishes. For a place called Harlem Seafood Soul, I expected more of the soul food menu to still be available in the middle of the day. If items are regularly selling out that early, then either more food needs to be prepared or the menu needs to better reflect what's realistically available. Another thing that surprised me is that I've visited other food trucks and carts that have been featured on TV shows, and many of them have an app, online ordering, or some way to place an order ahead of time. Where do you order Harlem Seafood Soul from? If I'm spending over $30 for lunch, I'd like the option to place my order in advance and have it ready when I arrive. To be fair, the wait wasn't long, and my frustration isn't with the people working there. Everything looked good, and I'm still planning to try the shrimp and grits. My issue is with availability. It's hard to get excited about menu items that aren't there when you arrive. I love supporting Black-owned businesses, and I want Harlem Seafood Soul to succeed. That's exactly why I'm leaving this review. The food sounds delicious, but you've got to do better with keeping your signature menu items available. Customers shouldn't have to arrive before lunchtime is over to have a chance at ordering them. This visit felt like a disappointment. Honestly, I'm not even sure if I want to give it another try. When a menu gets you excited and then most of what you came for isn't available, it leaves a bad first impression.
