Few weeks ago I ordered a curry chicken buss up & curry goat buss up, paid the .75 cents extra to add pumpkin, there was no pumpkin added to either meal. Food used to be good at this restaurant, but now it's very mid. To add to the rating, the customer service is even worse. The person at the cash register with the Haitian Accent or at least that's what she sounds like is awful. The taller brown skin woman who dishes the food in the front also has a nasty attitude. It's like they show up to work, but don't want to actually do the work. As a long time paying customer you come in the restaurant and these 2 woman make you feel like you are bothering them. I did my research before ordering on Google and Yelp. I'm glad to say that people cannot think for me nor have taste buds like me because the food was spectacular. Where the hell you know you can get a tasty tasting boneless chicken roti with pumpkin for $12, and besides the price the food is good. I also ordered a veggie roti $8 and Palau $10. Everything was good as you can see in my previous ratings I am not biased, but it gets me upset when people try to tarnish a business off of customer service and not the actual tasting of the food. The food is AMAZING. However, it's not worth the aggravation that always seems to be an unwelcome side order. I say again, the food is unparalleled. Roti, buss up, curry goat, vegetable rice, sorrel, doubles... always mouth-wateringly tasty. The only dish that's hit or miss is the aloo pie. Sometimes it's great, sometimes not. The WORST thing about this restaurant is their delivery and customer service. As I write this it's more than 2 HOURS on I'm waiting for my food to be delivered. I have literally ordered from Queens and gotten food faster. They usually take about an hour to deliver, which is why I have to be FIENDING for curry to order from this place. But 2 hours is obscene. I have no doubt the food will be cold when it gets here, and probably a spilled mess. Something is ALWAYS spilled. Every time I order from here, I end up saying never again. Tonight is no different. I foolishly placed a dinner order for my family and a vositing friend who had never tried Caribbean food. $68.50 tab. My Aunt purchased doubles from them the day before Christmas and that tasted pretty good, so I decided to give them a try. The price point is very reasonable because I always rave about Glorias- and they charge you an arm and a leg for every additional topping. I usually pay like $17-$20 at Glorias for the same order with sorrel. Why 4 stars? The chicken was cooked quickly and the bone still had blood in it. This is the worst customer service I've experienced in a LONG time. I asked a general question and got a non helpful one word answer. The food arrived well packaged, and warm. I ordered three doubles, while my bf ordered the Pholourie with tamarind sauce and chicken roti. As far as portion sizes, everything was huge! This was my only meal of the day, and I could only finish one double! Wish the doubles had that messy nature I'm used to from eating the doubles in Trinidad, but they were still good and very filling. The Pholourie was fresh and the tamarind sauce was delicious. Even that was enough to fill a person up! My boyfriend and I shared the chicken roti later. The seasoning was great and the roti skin was huge and delicious! I order the goat roti from their food truck after it was highly recommended by two people in the same day. No I know why--it's fantastic! Crown heights is know for classic Caribbean food but if you're not West Indian, it's hard to know which places are best. Usually for lunch there will be a 10 minute line at least, and when people wait in 90 degree weather when there are 20 other places with air conditioning, you know it's good stuff. This review is based off of delivery through ubereats. I was dying to find a place that delivers doubles and their rendition did not let me down. The beef roti was just right, thin skin, cooked meet and not too much of anything. Everything was evenly proportioned. My son enjoyed the potato salad. I have been coming here for a long time now and the food is great! But as of lately it's like your begging for a good portion of food. The Chinese short girl does not share food good at all. On multiple occasions I have to beg her to put more potato or Channa in my pan. Today self I actually just paid extra for more chicken because I can't be bothered anymore. When we are paying our money we should get an ample amount of food especially after waiting on line for the great food. Everyone else serves a proper portion but her.
