Austin came, looked at our issues and frankly told us what he would and would not be able to do. He took our gates and promised to call when they were done. I understood it was a small job for his company. When I went to pick up the gates, he hadn't just fixed the welds...he had re-painted them with beautiful brown enamel...I was so happy to find such a great craftsman...and delighted beyond belief with the care and attention they took on my little job. The folks at the store have 60+ years of experience combined and they make it their business to get to know their customers and to service them to the best of their ability. Also of note is the fact that McCoy's is central Texas owned by the actual McCoy family. You can call the owner. No, really. Can you say that about Home Depot or Lowe's? Probably not. Further, they will load your car when you are ordering things like concrete, dimensional lumber and fencing items.

My 1997 house was built out of limestone and paper. Well, not really paper, but the siding and trim…read moreare a product called Masonite which has a paper pulp component that does not hold up well in humid weather. A couple of years ago, I replaced the siding on the back of the house and chimney with Hardie siding, but I did not spend the extra money to replace the soffits, fascia and trim around the roof, because that would have cost more than all the other siding combined. It turns out, squirrels like to eat paper, eh, I mean Masonite siding when they can reach it. So there are chew marks on the Masonite trim near the roof where they can perch on the gutters or roof line itself to reach it. At this point, I have gutters up and really do not want to go through the hassle of removing just those boards. I needed some metal flashing the width of the trim and bent at a 90 degree angle so it would also cover the narrow side. Home depot does not carry anything like that and if you have ever tried working with the flashing they have, once you try to bend it (without the proper tools), it starts to look like a crumpled beer can. There was a place in South Austin that did metal work, but when my handy man called them, they would not do small jobs. I Googled "buy custom metal flashing in Austin" and Montopolis supply came up. I called them, explained what I needed. They could form the flashing and custom cut the pieces to the length I needed. They also had a primed metal that would be ready to paint once attached to the house. I also needed an angle trimmed off each one - but had a template I could bring them when I picked it up. They assured me they could handle that for an additional charge. I pre-paid for my order over the phone (minus the custom cuts I would pay for later). They said it would take 24 hours. A few days later - I made my way out there on a Saturday morning to pick up my order. The office is pretty kitschy with lots of religious signs and bibles for sale. The staff was friendly and helpful. Kenneth brought my order to me and took my template to provide the additional cuts I would need. He made those cuts right in front of me. I paid for the extra cutting ($2.50 per cut). He also showed me which screws would be best for attaching to the house and you can buy those by weight (as little or as much as you need). I left with my newly cut metal flashing and a small bag of screws. Next week, I plan on having them installed on the house so the next time a squirrel tries to chew my house, they may need a trip to the dentist.

I came to this location in early June of this year. I came here as I was looking for quotes for a…read morenew back and front door. I went to another company before coming here and never heard back (thanks for nothing, Door Outlet). Prior to visiting this location, I made an appointment to look at the types of doors available on the show room floor. When at the location, I picked out two doors with the help of Chris Owens. Chris explained the process to me about how long the doors would take as well as what to expect. After I picked out the doors and paid 50% down, Chris came to my home and measured my door spaces to ensue the doors I ordered would fit in my space. The install of the two doors I ordered was done over the period of two days. the backdoor took about half a day to install because the frame had to be removed. The front door was done in the period of a few hours today. Corey was the installer for both doors. Corey (like Chris) was professional and personable. Overall, I had a good experience with this company. While the wait may be long for the doors, the final product as delivered is sharp looking.
