Three stars because we felt like we had to micromanage the project to get it right. Owner Keith M. was receptive to our concerns and did make things right and we appreciate it. We just felt that communication could have been better before the fence was built so that they didn't have to take it down and rebuild. In the end, we love our fence. I don't like to plug local businesses... especially if not paid to do so . But really, we're floored by the result. The cost was a momentary smack upside the head, but (1) our houses have appreciated way more than we deserve, (2) the fence cost is split three ways, since every wood fence has two sides, and (3) your canceled summer vacation to Big Bend National Park plus whatever stimuluses you get will pay your one-third for you. I hired K2 fence because their bid was very comprehensive and specifically stated that the posts would be placed 2 feet in the ground. I had many issues with this company. On the plus side, Keith was very friendly and his communication was good. That said, when the supplies were delivered they were the wrong size of picket. This was new fence being extended beyond my original install, but they made no effort to find the property line and agreed afterward that it may not have been placed properly. The posts were not placed 2 feet into the ground, which was obvious based on how much they cut off the 8 foot posts once they were set. Because of this, my gate was binding within a month. I called to have this resolved and was told it would be taken care of. I expected that I did not have to tell a professional fence company NOT to attach the fence to my rock house siding, because that surface is not designed to take a horizontal load, but that is exactly what they did. Even with this horrible solution, the other side of the gate sagged and within a few months the gate was again binding. K2 was friendly, but their work was inferior and I will have to pay another company to fix their work the next time I have any fencing work done. It will definitely NOT be done by K2 and I do not recommend them. read more

I received many quotes on my fence replacement and was really impressed with the integrity of Keith. I have specific concerns with a dog that breaks fences and we came up with a great solution--the K2 thick pickets will keep my dog where he belongs! The fence is gorgeous--beautiful wood and very well built. The crew has been awesome, on time, quiet, and respectful. From our initial quote through completion of 200+ linear feet of wood fencing, we were very impressed with Keith and his crew. Keith took the time to run numbers on multiple configurations, listened patiently to our many questions, and gave honest and thorough responses. He also broke out segments since our neighbors shared in the cost. Once hired, the crew worked efficiently removing/hauling off several layers of old fencing and provided high quality craftsmanship on the new fence. For example, our yard has an unusual slope and they took time to discuss varied heights so that it would have the most even look. (They even redid a few sections without complaint when we realized that the spacing on the decorative topper was not as expected.) We appreciate that K2 Fence uses high quality materials from boards to stain and truly feel we have an enviable fence. In fact, we have already paid a deposit for our front yard fence and are looking forward to them installing it soon! read more

We went through this company to get our fence stained. Initially we liked the price so we chose them. They actually put up part of our fence in previous years so we thought let's give them a shot for the stain. The crew gave me examples of stain choices, and I had went with one that I really liked from their work. When we initially got it done back in March, the stain was orange it looked nothing like the photo that I had picked. They told me that it was wet and it needed to dry and the color would change. It did not........ So I had to wait three weeks for that to dry and then additional weeks because of rain (which is out of their control) I will say I didn't have to pay a cent until it was completely fixed. That was good on their part. Ideally, it is not the color I what I wanted from the original photo but what else could be done because they already put two coats of two different stains on it? My only advice to you is be VERY CLEAR on the color that you choose and look at several examples of their work. To sum this up, it is not the color I wanted but they did their best to get it as close as they could. read more

was hired by k2 to install 1000 linear feet of fence in southwest austin, 2 hours into the project things begin to go wrong. keith called me to make the first change after we had started 80; of fence so we make the first change without any new charges. keith had american fence do the material list for the field fence so i had to go there and get the scope of work from them when the k2 fence company should have that ready for me. we had agreed to $300.00 extra dollars for clearing of the land along the fence line, basically the entire 1000' had some sort of clearing and about a 20' section that required 3 guys one hour to clear only to find some dirt fill that needed to be cleared and nothing was paid on that either, i bought over 300 dollars in material for that job and gave him the receipts and he failed to pay that. during the 2 week long job the customer requested we stop and remove deck boards from his deck and he would pay extra and that wasnt paid. i spoke to keith on the phone and asked if him and his partner keith would have a sit down talk to discuss final payment to which keith 1 agreed too but i have not heard anything from him in 2 months so thats why the review. i will exercise my right to do a mechanics lien on the property at this time as i do not see any other options for me since he refuses to talk to me. read more
