I was in St Paul and desperately needed a fill and a pedicure... I was about to go nuts. So I googled nail salon near me and this one popped up with decent reviews. I think they should have a better rating because my experience was great. I called around 245 asking if I could get an appt for 330, yes no problem. There is only street parking.. worth mentioning. Walk in, I'm greeted, told to wash my hands and check in. I do that and I'm sat immediately. My lady that did my pedicure was so sweet and so efficient and thorough, my feet felt amazing afterwards and I got a classic thin French and she killed it. Oh, you pre pay too.. so there are a few minutes in the beginning where they are trying to figure out exactly what you are getting so they can charge you.. thats fine. Then I got my fill. I got Tuyet, she was so friendly and sweet and did an amazing job on my nails. I left the salon very happy! I will now be a regular there. It is very clean and organized in there.. no complaints at all. They also provide all waxing services and 60 or 90 minute head services. The prices are comparable on everything. Yikes! Came here with appointments for a friends birthday and was only able to sit 2 of the 3 of us together for a pedicure. The guy working on my feet was rushed. He filed the heck out of my toenails and made one of them bleed. The brushing of my feet and toes were so rough it made the hot towels feel unbearable! The massage that I paid extra for was not worth it. I should have just went with the basic pedi. For what I got $75 was too much. Limited amount of street parking. I had an appointment for 12:30 on a Sunday. I knew it was probably goi g to be busy, but when I came in the salon was full. I was finally directed to sit in a chair after someone asking me what service I came to get, and then I sat for 30 min. No one gave an update and almost 10 more people came in after me, who were directed to wash there hands and then given a spot to sit and wait(without letting them know there WAS a wait). I'm really disappointed as I have been coming here for years. To allow people to keep making appointments without the staffing to accommodate those appointments is not just frustrating, but it's bad business. Unfortunately, it's time for me to find a new salon. This was one of the best, if not the best, nail services I have ever gotten! I went on a random Thursday at 4 pm and all six manicure stations were full, as were most of the pedicure tubs. The service was friendly, efficient, and professional. When you walk in they have you go to the back to wash your hands and then follow directions from there! A unique thing that I liked was how they had you pay before your service and you could tip afterward if you felt so inclined (I did). Pricing that is comparable to most salons is listed clearly on their walls (& website). I got a full acrylic set with gel polish which is always a hit or miss in terms of quality and care. I am writing this review a full week and a half after my service, and I am still amazed at the durability of my nails. Ngo Do did an AMAZING job! She quickly found the correct extension sizes for my nails, she took care not to superglue them to my fingers, and it was the least painful and most efficient experience I have ever had. She also didn't go out of her way to try to make "small talk" (i.e., usually talking about how small my nails are, perceived bad nail habits, and my dry hands), which I appreciated. I walked out. 15 minutes and I'm was still waiting for someone to start my pedicure. Staff were rude, inconsiderate, and were inpatient with me when I didn't understand the check-in process. No direction was given, and they were short tempered. I've never been there before, and had they treated me in a respectful and timely manner, I would go back. Got an eyebrow tint approximately a month ago. Started noticing my eyebrows falling out at a higher rate than usual. A month later, I am still loosing hair at a very high rate (approx 15-20 hairs per day) they did get me in right away for a treatment but just a heads up on potentially letting the dye sit too long as this is still happening to me. read more

Highly disappointed!! I was so excited to try this nail salon after my friend telling me about it and I'm so disappointed by their service. I called and made an appointment and I waited over 20 minutes only for them to tell me it will be an additional 20 minutes which was extremely frustrating given I drove far to give this place a chance. It also defeats the point of having an appointment if I'm waiting 40 minutes! I felt like my time was played with not to mention there is not one person that delegates and you have multiple people asking you the same questions. Since writing this review, which was exactly how I felt when I started going there, I had the same experience that Ari did. My dipping powder nails started to lift and crack into pieces less than a week after I got them, while I was on a trip. when I came in for a fix I wanted to do the other 5 as well, but I wanted to pay half the price (half the fingers, half the price), I was told I could get a $10 discount. Even when I said that half was a fair price, AND I had been loyal to them for more than 10 years, and had brought several customers to them in that time, they were unwilling to discount me, even after I told them I wouldn't come back again if they would not accommodate me out of respect. Since re-opening after COVID, my experience here has been spotty, with many new people who are not trained well, the work being done very quickly, leaving the atmosphere feeling chaotic. and if I did receive a fix, the same person would be made to do them , so, same quality. I am very disappointed to have to make this update, but I was also very disappointed that I was not valued as a long time customer and friend, as I had gotten to know and like many of the more tenured techs. read more

Arrived on time for appt and was seated at pedi chair, left to soak for 10 min til they realized no one available for pedi so dried feet off and moved me to mani. Acrylic fill was relatively fast and well done. Then moved me back to a paid chair where I was left a total of 30 m with feet in lukewarm water waiting for someone to notice me. Note that technicians attended to many clients who had just arrived in the meantime. Although I had an appt they didn't consider it anything more than waitlisted or walk in since I selected "first available" technician rather than a named person since I didn't recognize technicians listed.... So they ignore me until I decided to leave and justify the wait because my appt seems to not count for them? Why allow appt in system at all then? Just stressful, took WAY too long because of the total 40 min I sat waiting for them to find someone who could acknowledge my appt. Note they WAY over book early on weekends so it's chaos anyway. I won't come back. Being blamed for their bad system and bad service just isn't ok. read more

Just wanted to update my review as I continue to come here year after year, and continue to be happy with their nail services. The dipping powder manis are excellent. During the covid closure they remodeled and updated the entire interior and now everything is lighter and brighter and feels even cleaner. They have new flooring, paint, and lighting, and looks like a new ventilation system as well. Also, the new woman at the front desk is awesome. Very friendly, helpful, professional, keeps everything organized, and super busy taking phone calls, managing appointment bookings, and running the color books all over. Great improvements! Hey there, Happy Nails! I see you! Just looking on my phone last night for a local spot for a pedicure. I'm hoping if I get my feet ready for spring it will actually arrive. Anywho, although there are several places in the area, happy nails was the only one I could see who had self scheduling. I made an appointment, I showed up and got a beautiful pedi relatively quickly. I was there less than an hour. Thuy did a great job, very efficient with a nice massage. They are located conveniently on Snelling and Jefferson with plenty of street parking in that section. Everyone is wearing masks so I don't have to worry about catching anything in the salon. I can't ever recall giving a 1 star on Yelp but here is my first. I laugh a little as I write this given this place is called "Happy" Nails which my daughter would describe as Mean Nails. I was very looking forward to getting my nails done and my daughters before we had our CA trip and this was the last night to do them since our flight left next morning. On the door they have a must wear mask or pay 1$ for a mask. To those that are more comfortable going somewhere with a mask then this is the place for you. If you rather not wear a mask then don't come here as you will be charged 1$ for a Costco mask. We walked in and immediately got yelled at for not wearing a mask which I said we would pay for 2. Immediately got told by someone what I wanted and explained and also asked how long the wait was which I was ignored and told to go to the back and wash my hands which we did. I come back to the front which then the person behind starts yelling saying what do I want and I look confused as I just told 2 people what services I wanted. I take a second to respond which they immediately start saying "what do you want, what do you want what do want" 3 times in a row each time getting louder with out a break so I could explain I just told someone what I wanted. My daughter moves behind me as she starts feeling uncomfortable. I explain again what I want to get done and then she yells that I should of walked in and out my information in the tablet which no one mentioned only to put a mask and walk to the back. I decide to push through this and then they tell me to sit down after I ask again how long is the wait and no answer. I wait for about 5 minutes they give me some colors to look at and my daughter asks if she will get her nails done I unfortunately said no because I'm trying to get out of there as fast as possible. I see her face of disappointment and after talking with my 8 year old she says she feels in her but we should go because she's uncomfortable and does not feel like we were treated kindly and with respect and I've taught her to treat others. I've never walked out of a place like this so I was out out of my comfort zone but glad I did because it was an important lesson to teach my daughter and have her see me walking out of a place that was very very disrespectful to us. We stood up and I walked to the front and said I didn't need service anymore. The people immediately started talking in their native language which is fine but couldn't help but feel everyone was talking bad about us. They took the swatches away harsh and I immediately walked out. We walked back to the car and decompressed talking about the experience. She said " Dad would be very proud of us" which I couldn't help but tear up a bit. Now I know we didn't come here for our nails to be done but for a learning lesson. Given our flight was next morning we did not get our nails done but once we got to CA we did and I can't wait to share on my next review the experience and photos we took. My daughter was able to get a great experience in CA and I'm glad we grew together! read more

I've been going to this salon every 3-4 weeks for 1.5 years. Duy was great but I think he's no longer there. Been trying different people and last time had a bad pedicure, the massage was so light it wasn't as enjoyable as it usually is. Liked the woman who did my manicure. Went back today and the woman was on vacation so selected guest available. Waited almost 30 minutes and watched multiple people leave. One woman said she waited an hour and she had an appointment. They tried to get her to stay but she left. Another woman left after her. I asked how long my wait would be and they called someone over to do my nails. I got dip. I don't love the shape, they are wider than I like. There is a smudge on one of them. I was never told what the cost was. I tipped based off what I paid last time. I have been to Happy Nails twice now and I'm very happy with the service. The first time I went I got a green sparkly gel nail polish and it was 45 dollars. The second time I had them switch out my nail polish for the light blue gel with a design and it came to 50 dollars. The first time I got a massage/lotion and the second time I did not. I am no sure if this was with the nail switch out that there was a difference. The second time it didn't seem to cover the tip of my nails as well but hopefully they last as long. Still happy with the service and it's easy to make an appointment online or to walk in. There is street parking outside that is free. I recommend happy nails! read more

I had serious covid feet. You know what I'm talking about. Today I decided to address this issue and went to Happy Nails for the first time. I called today around 4pm asking if they had availability for mani-pedi and they told me to come on over. Free street parking for 2 hours right outside. Immediately upon entry they ask that you wash your hands (and dry them with a heated towel!) before you touch any of the nail polishes or the IPad used to officially check in. They are tracking customers for potential covid exposures which I appreciate. Covid protocols are taken VERY seriously here. It's $59 for a regular mani-pedi. Both technicians did an excellent job. Especially on my feet. They needed some love. The salon is clean and spacious and relaxing. I'll be back. read more

I had my lashes done by Lan Do a couple of weeks ago and they are still looking amazing. It was my first time having lashes done, so I didn't know what to expect. She was very professional and the application only took about 40 minutes. After I got home, I felt the volume was far too intense for me. Don't get me wrong, they looked and felt fantastic, but I was hoping for a more natural look and felt kind of silly. I made an appointment for the next day to pay to have them removed. When I arrived, the whole team at the spa assured me they would fix my issue free of charge. To say I was relieved would be an understatement. Lan Do took about 20 minutes and carefully removed several lashes which gave me the look I was going for. I suggested to her that a visual chart of different lash looks would be helpful for future clients. Think of this procedure like a haircut. Bring a photo example of what you want before they get started. Two weeks later and I'm still loving the results. I will definitely be going back. read more

This place is racist. From the moment I walked in I caught a bad vibe. While I found this place on google & had a friend who said she came a couple years back I gave it a shot. I walked in to get a gel manicure. Nobody acknowledged me when I walked in or from then. I spoke. I said hello. One lady asked me what I needed. I told her a gel manicure she told me to wash my hands and have a seat. When I returned from hand washing, I was told to go sit at station #3 . Station 3 had a person there. The technician on 3 told me to sit in 4. Another lady came and told me to sit at the pedicure bowl ( she later used the station for a client that arrived after me ) As I am at the pedicure bowl waiting .. a lady asked me was I getting a pedicure. I told her no. She then had me to station 2 I sat at station 2 for over 20mins I was debating leaving, but I also wanted to see how long it would take them to help me. At this point 2 ladies has finished their nails.... So I am thinking oh nice there is at least 2 technicians available now ... 15 mins past, I am like I am about to walk out of her bc I just feel mistreated. Nobody spoke to me, nobody acknowledged me. " how are you doing, someone will be with you shortly " nothing like that. Throughout me waiting different technicians kept coming up to me telling me to sign in, which I originally did when I arrived. They kept telling me to sign & when I told them I did , they would ask me where is my name ....like I was lying! There were ladies coming in after me being serviced. I showed the lady a picture of the gel manicure I wanted . She told me if I wanted dipped powder ( which I usually get on my nails for $70 ) or more I wouldn't mind paying more... she told me 126 because the picture had dipped powder... W/o the powder the nail would only be 76 which really didn't make sense . Mind you am ready to go when they finally come trying to help me , Then asked me to pay for my service now because they require it! Fine . Had I would've been acknowledged & treated like the human being I am, I wouldn't had any issues. But I was treated poorly & overlooked. & then was told " pay now " If you want somebody to prepay- at least give them good vibes is the least you can do. I will not go back there. I will never spend my hard earn $ in places I don't feel valued! & then as I was leaving they said " sorry " Like ha . Okay Don't go here, especially if you're melanated. The price or the prepay was never an issue, it was how I was treated prior to demanding that. I felt like my business was not wanted & that's fine for me .
