Having Beech open within walking distance from where I work has been very dangerous for my coworker's and I - in the best way. Despite King opening new restaurants every week, the street still seems to be in need of more options for quick lunches. Beech has quickly become one of my favorite new spots for salads, wraps, Acai bowls and my kryptonite- Poke- which you can get with rice, mixed greens or zucchini noodles. I'm a huge fan of the Black Bean Hummus Wrap loaded with a ton of fresh, colorful veggies or their Ahi Tuna Bowl with zucchini noodles. I also had half of the black bean hummus wrap, which was tasty but nowhere near as good as the poké bowl, and a little bland apart from the dressing. Beech has two long tables with high top seats and a couple small chairs and coffee tables to eat from, so not a ton of space especially since it's quite busy. The acai bowls were amazing. The acai wasn't frozen at all as I've experienced at other places, and you could watch them cut your fruit fresh to put on top of the bowl. Mine had a layer of almond butter that was perfect. The bowls are good-sized, definitely filled me up for lunch by just having one of them. The second time we came in, I ordered a poke bowl with salmon. It was incredible! Fish tasted super fresh and the mango on top was perfect. I also liked that they didn't put a ton of wasabi sauce on top of it and didn't overgarnish it to make it seem like there was more food than there actually was. This was a LOT of food and would definitely fill you up for a pretty big lunch. They also sold juices and other items like chicken salad wraps and avocado toast. While the items were somewhat pricey (I believe $8.50 for the acai bowl and $12.50 for the poke bowls), I was very full and felt the quality was worth the price. They offer juices, smoothies, wraps, acai bowls, bagels, and most importantly poke bowls. I haven't had poke since I went to Hawaii last December so I was pretty excited to give this place a try! I ordered the Ahi Tuna Bowl with zucchini noodles, and Wasabi aioli. It was really tasty! You can tell they use great quality ingredients. I really enjoyed the Wasabi aioli as well. My friend ordered the Sriracha aioli on hers and she loved it. I really appreciate that they have two low carb options for the bowl base! You choose from white rice, zucchini noodles, or kale salad. They have a bunch of add ins from seaweed salad to avocado. They also have a few sauces you can add on top. If you order one of the veggies bases I would recommend getting a sauce on top. They offer a bunch of juices in the cooler along with the local kombucha brand One Love. I got the Ginger hibiscus kombucha which was a bit drier than I prefer. This was a nice addition to King street as the options there are either sit down or your generic chains like chipotle (not that I don't love them) and subway. The acai bowls drew me in but I ended up getting the salmon Poke. Their tofu is actually seasoned unlike a lot of poke places, so there was a lot of flavor. I just wished there were more toppings available. However portion sizes were small. The acai bowl was just a little smaller than what I expected; Hawaiian poke bowl was no more than 50% of the portions I used to get at other poke places.
