We really enjoyed our time here. The food was a bit expensive, but most of it was fair. My porkchop…read morewas perhaps the best I ever had. My wife said her shrimp was really good, but the sauce used white wine that didn't cook off, so the alcohol was off-putting. The key lime pie slice was $9, really small, and not very good; barely lime flavored. The rice, asparagus, etc were all excellent and would recommend. The service was pretty good and the environment of outdoors, but better and covered was nice. Cool breeze throughout dinner.

I am cognizant that these are very heavy days for restaurants. However, I was not prepared to wait 2 1/2 hours to be served. My group waited patiently and the water was very apologetic. 2 hours into the wait, I told the waiter to bill us for the drinks and appetizers since we wanted to leave. It was already 9:25 p.m. and it was too late for me to eat. The owner came out and told me that the food was already being prepared and we had to take it to go. In other words, we were not leaving before paying for it. I didn't want to make a scene so we decided to continue waiting. The food took an additional 22 minutes to arrive. I feel the restaurant breached its responsibility to serve us within a reasonable amount of time, and bullied us into paying for the meal one way or another. If they knew how backed up the kitchen was, they must inform the patrons and let them decide if they want to stay of not. They put profit above service. I will never return to this restaurant.

While visiting some very good friends in PR, they suggested we go and try this place in Guayanilla…read more Once we started working the reservation we were surprised (i.e., annoyed) with all the restrictions... they only open Saturdays 11am to 6pm, with the last reservation being for 4:30pm... you only have 90 mins to enjoy your meal... if you are late, or if your party is incomple, you are not allowed in... if you are early you have to stay in your car until they come a get you... you also have to order your food a few days ahead. Still, since we heard it was really good, we decided to jump thru all the hoops. Boy am I glad we did!! I had the ribs (full rack) and it was ridiculously good, delicious! Others in my party had brisket, and steak, and they were all also impressed! As appetizer we had the empanadillitas de carne (12 count), which is always deliscious, but ussually done with ground beef... well, not at La Manada, the filled them with braised beef!! They also had a guava BBQ sauce!! Wow!! The place is rustic, an open air (no A/C, ussually a deal breaker for me) barn-like venue, very spacious (tables laid out at least 5-8 feet away from each other), but somehow it all feels homey, maybe even intimate. Their staff was very attentive and friendly. And then there is their chef, Chef Jose Lucca, very nice and charismatic; he stopped by to make sure we were happy with everything, talk about his vision, and even joked about "their rules". He also took pictures with us! Bottom line: La Manada Ribs V8 is an excellent restaurant; an absolute must if you are in the south-west of PR.

They also offer carry-out but orders by phone. They have a great system in place to be able to tend to the customers. They reached out to me two days prior so I could reserve the meats I wanted to make sure I could get what I wanted given the high demand and large parties coming in and out. When you get there, their parking/security staff assist you while waiting and you get to come in once your table is ready. The service is fast and efficient. Staff is very attentive and the Chef is around greeting the customers. Very family oriented vibe and ambiance, while you can also still get a cold beer or a cocktail of your choice while enjoying the Puertorrican mountain/country scenery. Now let's talk about the food. I love my Puertorrican seasoning but I am also used to BBQ in the US. I was a little hesitant but I have to say I was impressed. The smoky flavors in the meats were everything! Everything was so tender and perfectly cooked. Tried their Manada tray in which you get a taste of all their meats: Riblets, pulled pork, brisket, pork loin and even half quail. This comes with three sides of your choice and should be enough for 3-5 people. My party ordered the Manada rice which is our typical Puertorrican rice with pigeon peas with bits of smoked meat. This was my favorite side. Also ordered sweet potato waffle fries and delicious tostones de pana/mapen which were a seasonal item. Ordered to go a full rack of ribs and came with a side. These were so perfectly cooked and fall-off-the-bone tender. My favorite from the Manada tray was the brisket. My party loved the riblets. It was their first time having BBQ and definitely not the last time!
