I really didn't want to give this owner with even one star. So disgraceful! I asked her not to cut my hair too short, but she did! and she bragged on how good she is in cutting women's hair, but the reality is she's not even near capable in doing it! She also charged me quite a lot for crappy hair cut, PLUS she charged me on my card payment. I will never go there again and please avoid this place at all cost, specially for ladies. Worse haircut of my life. I asked for a tapered fade. Idk who the lady was but she said she can do it. I ended up with a buzz cut number 1 all the way around. Then she said 45 for face and hair then at the end she said 30 for hair 35 for face. Mind you she didn't even touch my face at this point. So I stated you didn't touch my face and no way am I'm done this fast. It's been 10 mins since she started. She showed me the mirror for me to see nothing I wanted done and just her buzzing my hair. If she couldn't do it she said have said please come back tomorrow not play in my hair and still demand 30 bucks and expected a tip. Who ever she is. She need to not be allowed to do men's haircuts ever again. Because no part of what she did is considered a men's a haircut. The army does a better job. I've always struggled with finding a good place to get a haircut. My hair grows fast and is very thick so it's hard to cut in general. I found this place on yelp and it confirmed my love for this app. This haircuttery was very calm and peaceful. Beena is a master at cutting hair and I highly recommend her. My hair was wildly uneven and she fixed that and when it grows out, she's going to style it a way I like. I like it right now, but it's going to be even better next time. Can't wait. I have had my hair cut a few times at some of the local chains and nothing has come close. My part has been butchered by some other "barbers" and Ms. Beena noticed right away and put a plan into action to change my style. I love the look, and the intense attention to detail. Amazing doesn't even come close to describing this place. I typically go to those manly man barbershops, the types that give you a beer or shot of whisky. I can say I won't ever go back to one of those places again after visiting this barbershop. Ms Beena is a master of her craft. My regular stylist is a real mess to get an appointment with in Raleigh. I was up here for the weekend and figured I'd fill my day with needed errands found this place on Yelp and Apple maps. I was originally headed for Shore Drive Barber shop and saw this place had 8 times the reviews. I walked in a was seen on spot. She cut my hair so meticulously - I was getting a big impatient but as she got near the end it got better - She did the straight razor on the neck and sideburns. And like others have mentioned the hot towel treatments were amazing. Massaging the ears and scalp. I can't think of a better haircut I've ever had and she did it perfect on the first visit. Tempting to drive up every 6 weeks! The only negative - a $2 surcharge for using credit or debit which I built into the tip. It was $22 and $30 with tip. I couldn't be happier. read more

My stylist Mary was great. She fixed my hair and was really concerned with doing it in the best way for me. She deserves more than 5 stars! HOWEVER, the owner is pushy, rude, and sneaky with fees. Originally when I walked in I walked right back out, because I saw it was a men's barber shop and military style cuts at that, and I needed an experienced stylist.. Beena followed me out yelling for me to come back and telling me that they are licensed stylists, and really put me on the spot (I had someone with me who was also pressuring me to just do it, as my hair really REALLY needed taken care of). So I did.. she went and grabbed Mary, who was brand new and didn't know where anything was and kept deferring to Beena because she was afraid of making her mad... which resulted in me having products put in my hair that I didn't want, didn't need, and didn't ask for, me getting BURNED down my neck by scalding water from the hair steamer, the stylist finally giving in and cutting my hair like I asked, and then me being charged far more than double the listed price for a haircut without any warning or notice in advance. The stylist was worth every cent just because of how much she cared and how much effort she put in.. the experience, Beena, and the shop weren't worth a single dime. Shady business with terrible service, despite the high reviews (which the owner insisted on people giving, and checking to make sure). Beena even demanded I give her the pin number to my bank card after I commented on the high price! I told her there was no way I was giving her my pin, that I would type it in.. she wouldn't let me. After a bit of back and forth, me refusing to tell her my pin and her refusing to let me type it in, she ran it as credit and charged me a surcharge. The women there have no real experience in cutting men's hair. They don't know how to do a fade haircut nor a regular haircut. It took 3 barbers on the same day (all women) to get me a decent haircut because the first one was an apprentice so the 2nd one. The 3rd was the owner and she was able to get my haircut decent after 2 barbers. So, this review is for guys looking to get a haircut with a experience barber, don't go there. You have better chance to go to another barbers. And heads up!!! These people charge 20 dollars for haircut plus tips.. keep that in mind that a regular hair is about 13 dollars.. not worth it at all. read more

Just wanted to preface this review with the fact that both hair cutters were both kind and professional. However that does bot change the fact this is by far the worst haircut I have ever gotten, I came in with mid to long hair that is fluffy and has a loose part towards the center and a little left of my head. I asked for a little off everywhere and gave an image of my hair from front back and side from 1 month ago for reference. The haircut I got was a heavy side part with the side part flipping sides to the right of my head with far too much hair off in areas and not enough in others. Specifically the sides, my haircut should have been a scissor only except for cleaning up sideburns and back of head yet clippers where used on both sides of my head giving me a full on mullet, I did not realize at the time because of gel used to slick back hair down but after I showered it fluffed up in the back but was still short and straight on sides. Another moment that stood out to me was when the hair cutter asked is this your part and made a middlish part, I said yes. They then proceeded to disregard all of that and cut my hair the way they felt switching to a full side part on the other side of my head. The cherry on top was finding out I was being charged 40 dollars for it all. Overall I would not recommend this place to anyone with mid to long hair however it looked like they were very good with the shorter side part style, I saw everyone else getting that and leaving happy with the results. read more

Beena needs to change her name from men's salon to "men and women." She colored my roots, gave me low lights and highlights, also gave me a excellent haircut. I have naturally curly hair and it's difficult to layer, she gave me one of the best haircuts I've ever had. I didn't care for the color, I thought it was too dark, I called her and told her about it, Beena came in early the next day, before she opened, fixed it to make me happy. She did an excellent job.
