My brother-in-law loves craft beer so I got him a one-month Beer Drop Plus gift card ($61.98) + a Hop Exploration Box ($29.99) so he could try out Beer Drop. Shipping and handling was $7.99 and tax was $2.49, so $102.45 total. Beer Drop is a craft beer subscription service that sends subscribers new kinds of craft beer every month. It's a great way to try new beers from microbreweries. Beer Drop isn't the only beer subscription service out there. It just happens to be one that was recommended to me. At the time of writing this review, Beer Drop has three main plans, regular ($44/mo), "Plus," ($54/mo) and "Ultimate" ($69/mo). Those prices include shipping and handling. The difference between the three plans is the more you pay, the more beer you get in the form of 16-oz cans and 32-oz "Crowler" cans. The regular plan only includes 12-oz cans. The more expensive plans also offer a wider selection of beers and the option to make substitutions. You don't have to choose your beers every month. Beer Drop will choose for you and the selections can be based on your preferences. You can see the lists of available beers and breweries on Beer Drop's website at https://www.beerdrop.com/. The lists are extensive. The beers range from ales to lagers to sour beers. I believe most, if not all, of the breweries are based in Colorado. This is a unique cool service and I have been a customer for a few years now. I like the option to pick what I want and have it delivered. I don't use the subscription service too much as I don't always like what is picked but the beer arrives well packaged and they always have beers I cannot find locally in GA. This is a scam. You should not have to give them a credit card no. to receive a gift someone else sent you. My daughter ordered 3 shipments for me on her account, but I had to give them a credit card no. to receive the shipments. I felt from the beginning that this was not a legitimate company. After the second shipment, the third shipment was charged to my credit card with the note that future shipments would be charged to my card. After a number of e-mails threatening to dispute any charges to my card and requesting the third shipment due me as well as all future shipments be stopped, I did receive the third shipment and future shipments were stopped. Beer was OK from several non-descript breweries, but certainly not worth $68 for ten 12 oz. cans. read more

Not a good experience... The positive- You get to choose the type of beer you will receive. No more getting a type of beer you don't like and you get to edit the selections they make for you. The negative- You must be home and 21 to sign for the delivery. No options as to the time and day. If you're not home when they deliver they will send it back to Beer Drop and you have to pay $19.99 to have it re-sent still with no options as to the time and day. If you are not a work from home person or if someone is not home during the day then don't buy beer from this company. So far not a good experience. read more

Beer Drop is awesome! I get this as a surprise for my boyfriend every once in a while. I like how any amount of beer is shipped for one flat rate. I like that they let you choose a style for your box and will pick beers that fit that style, or you can get a full surprise each time. I love that they give you the option to swap t out beers for different ones if you don't like the style, that specific beer, or just want to try something else. This last round, I also found out you can add other beer to your box and it will all ship together. I wound up buying my guy a bunch of hoppy IPAs including some of his favorite from a brewery in NJ! He loved each one he has tried so far and was pretty excited for the selection overall as Beer Drop has several breweries he has loved different beers from in the past. my wife bought me a $250 gift card so i could pick out the beers. My first order was late, the box arrived soggy as one can had opened, oh and there was a half of one beer in another. trying to place another order right now and the selection is terrible as well as a ridiculous min order quantity request for most types of beer it seems... very frustrating and hard to work website too. going to give it one more try to use my credits, then unlikely going to use again... you blew Beer Drop....and I'm in a few beer clubs in DFW..was hoping to share a great experience for you.... oh well.. STAY AWAY!!! Like other reviews, the same experience. I got a confirmation email that my order was shipped. No tracking number, and the tracking link goes to a 404 error. No way to contact them except via email and they won't respond. I have been a member since 2020 with no issues--until now. I did some digging and found some relevant information. Their Better Business Bureau rating is an "F". Complaints like mine have been filed and Beer Drop isn't responding to BBB recently either. Beer Drop used to belong to Craft Alley, but when I contacted Craft Alley, they said they sold Beer Drop a few months ago and wouldn't give me any contact info for the new owners. I cancelled my membership and disputed the charge with my bank. Save yourself frustration and money too--find another beer club! read more

Terrible. Sham, deceptive, dishonest. RUN RUN. 1. I was gifted a 6 month subscription which actually bought 5 months when ordered. The old bait and switch. Oh, and you have to supply a credit card for the remaining balance. I complained via email, only wanting what I was gifted, but never really got an answer just alot of jumble-talk. Folks, read the BBB reviews regarding their credit card practices. DO NOT provide these thieves your credit card number. I was eventually told I could order a la carte. 2. They only communicate via email, and it takes several days for them to get back to you. 3. Their website is terrible, requiring repeat entries when ordering. Mysteriously, quantities in the cart often get increased (really?). The unsuspecting will eventually order more than they wanted. Often took me hours of repeat entering. Not worth it! 4. Their offered "discount codes" only work half the time. 5. The beer shipped is sometimes stale and old. Canning date many months beyond acceptable. 6. Folks, read the BBB reviews, they're not doing so well. I've had other beer clubs which by far have been much easier and more honest. These guys should not be in business. read more

During the pandemic I came to rely on Beerdrop quite a bit. They are a beer in the mail service that is primarily beers from breweries from Colorado. Not all of them from the list are Colorado but most are. I had their monthly subscription for a while and felt like I was getting current with the breweries in Colorado again. I lived in Colorado for a while and stayed on top of emerging breweries on the Front Range pretty well so Beerdrop definitely gave me a lay of the land of breweries that opened after I moved away as well as revisit old favorites. You don't have to have a subscription to get the beer they offer. You can make customized orders from their website as well. Beer drop also has another website called Craft Alley. The list of breweries on that website are practically identical but I have learned look closely as there is a brewery or two that the other doesn't offer. Unfortunately Craft Alley no longer ships beer in the mail but Beer Drop does. You have to do a pick up and be in Denver to fully utilize Craft Alley but the brewery list to pick from at this point has less variances as to which breweries they get products from. And as always if utilizing Beer Drops services make sure that your state permits beer to be shipped in the mail. read more

Very sketchy operation. Got a 3 month subscription as a gift and the first 2 orders took 2 weeks to arrive which raised some questions. Their shipping tracking link has NO information except order has shipped. My 3rd order from early March 2024 has till not arrived. They sent me a notification of a 4th order ready to ship so I cancelled immediately. They still charged me. NO response from customer service. So thats 2 orders with no response at all from this questionable service. Going to dispute the last charge with the bank, contact the BBB and Attorney General in Colorado just to raise red flags for any potential future customers from this outfit. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!! The customer service is terrible! I signed up a few years ago and had issues with almost every shipment. I canceled my subscription. A few months went by and I couldn't find another good beer service so I decided to give them a second chance. They did have some good points. Somewhat reasonable prices and low delivery costs. Most of the beers I've tried are from the North West region and not all that great. Shortly after I started using them again, the membership price and delivery fees increased but are still pretty reasonable. All of the issues I had with the customer service in the past had not been resolved. Wrong selections, not applying rewards, very slow communications and improper charges to my credit card which they attempt to resolve with future discounts and not refunds. They recently changed their delivery carrier which has caused even more delays. I finally received my last order and immediately cancelled my membership again. I don't think they deserve a third chance. read more
