I stopping here on the recommendation of my hotel concierge. I'm always a little hesitant about hotel recommendations but this one turned out to be spot on. Clean, good flow of people so not crowded or so loud you could not have a conversation. 30+ beers on tap and the guy poring them knows all about the beer he is giving you to try, based on what you have told him you normally drink. Good music (jazzy) playing in the background . Hungry? Laredo two doors down makes one of the best sandwiches I've ever had and they will deliver so you won't have to move from your booth. Been here for happy hour twice and have no regrets. The location is right next to Grassa and Lardo which are owned by the same owner. They allow them to bring in food so you can eat here while ordering more beer. They have 31 beers/ciders on tap with literally something for everyone. Happy hour runs until 5 and the majority of the pints drop to $4 in price. The bartenders are knowledgeable about the beers and offer great suggestions. The service is good and the location has large indoor seating booths that are great for groups. There are also benches available outside if you prefer that. They also have a large bottle selection and you can buy crowlers of any of the beers to go. Overall highly recommend this spot! read more

We found this spot randomly but what a cool place! This is a really nice spot for beer lovers and those who enjoy a chill place to watch the game. It looks like one giant room, but there are giant TVs everywhere and a giant beer list. You can sit at a table or at the bar. Pretty standard for a taproom/growler station, and that's not a bad thing. The beer selection is pretty big, with varied breweries and styles. I think it's 30 taps total. The digital menu is legit, easily displaying the beers (and a couple ciders) by style and quantity of that beer remaining. It also displays upcoming beers, which is a nice touch. Beers are sold in a variety of sizes, tasters, 8oz and 16oz. Great for if you want to try a larger variety of beers. Also pretty great that it's attached to Lardo and Grassa. Not bad options at all for food to eat while drinking your way through the taplist. Also good music and friendly bartenders. A solid addition to the West End area of downtown. read more

Went here a couple of times for our trip as the beer selection was decent - the first bar tender was VERY friendly to people that looked like him- little Did he know these 50 year old straight looking couple also are tatted up ... you just couldn't see with our clothing lol. The beer was good enough to head back - same bartender and hubby said "that guy was nice he wasn't a dick" so maybe I was being overly sensitive lol. It happens sometimes. Awesome place to just grab a beer and relax. They have rotating menu's on beer from different parts of Oregon as well as Washington and California. They're also directly connected to a delicious craft pasta restaurant called Grassa. Just know that this is literally a "Beer bar", and they just serve beer here (it's not a brewery unlike most others areas surrounding it). I enjoy being here by myself after a long day of classes since I attend school in the pearl district. One of my favorite beer spots in the city. They have a great happy hour from 2-5pm, majority of the tap list are $3. I love going solo to do some work on my computer and enjoy great beer. If I get hungry I order from the two delicious places next door and enjoy inside beer o'clock. On a sunny Portland day the small patio is just right with a nice cold brew in hand. When I came here in February it was known as Beer Belly. Don't know if they changed ownership or just the name but the review was from then. This place was chill and the bartender that served us on that weekend afternoon was cool. He told us in detail about some of the beers he was excited about and let us sample a few. Beer O'Clock is a relatively new taproom located on the first floor of the 12west building (in the old Racion space). The newest addition to the Lardo and Grassa empire, Beer O'Clock has a rotating selection of great local and regional beers. I read that they also have some rare bottles, though I haven't seen the list for myself. Beer O'Clock itself doesn't serve food, but you can bring food in from any neighboring restaurants - it connects to Grassa (which connects to Lardo) through a hallway in the back, making either an easy (and delicious) option. They sell crowlers (and I'm told that they'll fill a growler for you, if you bring your own), and have a great happy hour special ($3 pints). It gets a little crowded but they recently added some more seating which seems to have helped. read more

Had to drop in for a beer when I saw the hilarious name of this place. They have a good variety of beers on tap which was great. From pale ales, IPAs to ciders, this place has something that any type of beer drinker could like. It's a small little place so I can imagine it could get pretty crowded easily. I found my favorite cider here which was the grapefruit guava cider. I loved this place but the only thing that prevents me from giving the full 5 stars is that the guy serving the beers seemed to look down on me for enjoying my cider so much. Kind of like snobby and making fun of me for ordering the cider so many times. I didn't understand why that mattered especially when it's more business and tip for him. I love that you can get a drink at such a low price and the causalness of this place. They have a sweet happy hour too where most beers are $3 from 1-5pm I believe.
