Finally back at my spot. Jack and John are still hosting my favorite sports bar and spot to chill that I can walk to. I can bring the kids during the day and bring my pup at any time. Their jojo's are so good (I always ask that they're extra crispy,) but the Furikake Popcorn is to DIE for. When Jack and John are there they always know the right recommendations for me on what I'd like. So does May. The newer employees don't know as well yet but I'll give it time. This is a fun neighborhood spot! It's very small and tables are tight, but there are also a few outside tables on the sidewalk. It gets VERY crowded, quickly, yet we've always managed to find a table when we've been here. Food options are limited, but we don't go here for the food. We've had the wings, fries, and pizza. All were decent. They also have a decent selection of beers on tap but when we've gone they only had one or two ciders. The last time we went there was no wine, but I'm pretty sure they had wine on other visits. They have fun food and beer takeovers. Be sure to follow them on social media to find out about these, as their website is pretty lacking in information. You order and pay at the bar, and the people who work here are very nice and all smiles. They really make it a warm and welcoming spot! After a long work day, Taplandia Taphouse is a nice place in the 'hood to hang out with friends and enjoy a pint or two. It's also a great place to catch the Ducks games! Man o' man what a great little discovery! We can here last minute on a Friday evening in May. It was playoff season, so this bar had both an NHL, NBA, the Mariners, and a local high school baseball game showing on several TVs. =+= Atmosphere and Staff =+= It was pretty packed to the max at about 6pm, so understandable for it being busy. There are plenty of tables for two or four, patio tables, or a couch by the fireplace as well. It can be a bit crowded, but for the most part I like the openness. They can roll up the garage door style windows in the dining area is what I'm saying. I guess you gotta check out the pics. I also saw someone cleaning tables off, so no issues with dining. Service from the ladies serving us were also friendly. So no service issues. For the most part, the place was a typical mix of locals and newbies like me here to chill with a beer and to watch the playoffs. Behind the main bar they have a long line of beers on tap; A few ciders, lagers, amber and pale ales, other various IPAs, a couple of sours, and a root beer. I was going to reduce a star for only seeing and tasting only ONE stout on the tap list, but I'm not that cruel. Just wish they had more stouts. +=+ Taps & Bites +=+ I NEED A PINT!!! From the tap, we tried a few pours that cost between $4 and $9 depending on what's available. Not bad for the price I'd say, pretty common. Love the Tap List online (as well as up on the menu board) showing how much is left in the keg. Regarding bites, I went with the Buffalo Wings ($14) which came naked. They're actually served naked because you may want BBQ or the Asian sauce instead. You shouldn't mind getting naked if you ask me. The wings in itself were plump and juicy too. Loved them! We also ordered the Pretzel Rods ($8) which were like a soft pretzel loaf. These were nice and buttery and served hot! Gotta eat these quick, that's for sure. We really enjoyed them with that root beer too! =+= When Will I Return =+= When Mango Cart shows up on their tap list, we'll definitely show up with a growler! But even if it's not on the tap list, I'd still come back. For the small amount of room this place has, it still rocks! read more

Nice place, friendly people. However, I did not like that the staff lied to me. I watched one of the staff pull a plug on a tap and pour some beer for someone. When I asked why some taps had plugs, I was told there was no beer in those taps. I told them that I saw beer being poured from the tap with a plug and they said there was no beer in that tap. I know what I saw and I don't understand what the big secret was. I was just curious. I would have been happy with any other explanation besides telling me I didn't see what I clearly saw. read more

What makes Taplandia a fun neighborhood tap house is definitely the owners. They are so easy going and introduced themselves to guests with a smile and a handshake. This kind of welcoming attitude make guests come back again and again! They just opened and are still working out the menu and hours but our first time was a blast. We saw neighbor upon neighbor and sat with friends we knew. We got the garlic peanuts (a must), the hummus plate, fries and wings. All decent bar food and arrived shortly after ordering. The atmosphere is great if you are a sports fan with its multiple tv's. No matter where you're sitting you'll feel at the event with its volume on for big time games. But my favorite part about this place isn't the beer, it isn't the bourbon, it's not the atmosphere...it's the people. The people that work there are so genuine and kind. What a great addition to the neighborhood! We went on opening day and it was very busy, but there was plenty of staff on hand to help so we never had to wait long. Great selection of local brews on tap and some good cans in the cooler. We had the pretzel rods to snack on and they were delicious! Visited Taplandia a few times now. The atmosphere is relaxing, they have lots of seating and the food was great for a taphouse. They have a ton of choices on tap, including a delicious rootbeer, as well as a great wine and whiskey selection. They do offer tequila and other liquor as well. This place is legit. Just opened towards the end of March, but is already finding it's spot as a neighborhood favorite. Right next to Albertsons, so it makes those grocery shopping trips that much easier! The owners, spouses, MB, everyone, are awesome people. Several TVs with all the games, island music going, and a great environment to just chill. Huge garage door to open on those nice days, outdoor seating is available. Cozy little sofa seating area for the not nice days. Great beer selection, you're always going to find something you'll like. Ciders, seltzers, wine, and even some whiskey and bourbon, too.
