Great selection, good atmosphere, but I was very disappointed in how I was treated. My inquiry about flights was not welcome (if you have over 25 taps, you need to do flights). I was told it was a "build your own" flight system where I could order half pours. I enjoyed 3 higher ABV selections at 2 oz each. Cool. When I came up to order one more, I made a joke about a build your own flight system--so I could order ten, huh? Apparently that was very not funny. Then came in the phrase "I don't know you as a person". Well, thank you, Matt. I don't know you as a person either. I hope you were just having a bad day. Insinuating that a customer is intoxicated after 6 oz of beer was ridiculous. I felt very unwelcome. Was it because I was singing along with the Ludacris song? Was it because I'm a boisterous person? Perhaps because I am a woman and I was there with my hairdresser. I don't think I would have been treated this way had I been there with my husband. I would not have ordered a 4th sample if my friend had not ordered another beer. I have been to many, many brew pubs, tap houses, breweries, etc. We brew beer. It is a hobby for us. I have NEVER been treated this way before. I probably didn't need to spout off about how I was no longer having a good time. I knew he could hear me. Which is why I was asked to leave. Yet, after a handshake and conversation everything was ok-ish and we stayed for our last beverage. For me, this was my last beverage at this establishment. I'm sure this will be a win-win. A phenomenal beer bar with what is probably the best happy hour for beer in Portland ($3 beers from 2-5pm on almost all beers on tap). The bar is physically connected to both Grassa and Lardo, so you can be very well-fed while drinking at the bar. I've been here twice now with the same bartender working both times, and he's as friendly as he is knowledgeable about beer. If you love beer, this is definitely a place to check out, and they do post their taplist online if you want to scope it out before going. read more

Great place and a must have. Really liked the setup of the place it's not huge but it's very comfy. Beer selection was awesome. Loved the LCD screen setup with icons showing how fresh each keg was. This place is the equivalent of a street side bar. I was surprised at the tight fit of a few benches and scattered bar seating, but the tap list is one of the best I've ever seen. This bar supports local while also representing the best of the best stretching from coast to coast. The bartender was quick, and knowledgable about every beer on tap. Very clean and modern. Wide variety of beers- not just all IPAs. Big booths and also outdoor seating. I got a peanut butter stout I love that they had on nitro which was amazing. (Belching Beaver for those who are curious). Modern display which shows how much of each keg was left. read more

I think I may have found my new favorite beer bar! It's small, but cozy. The fella behind the bar was super-friendly. There are booths for getting together with friends, & small tables or the bar if you want to throw back a pint while doing work on your laptop. Came here for the first time yesterday for the Firestone Walker tap takeover for Portland Beer Week. Was very impressed with the selection available with around 30 taps available. They also do happy hour from 3-6 with $3 pints of many of the beers. It's not a big space but it fits a good amount of people. They have a long bar and a some booths in the skinny space. It's owned by the same folks that do Grassa and Lardo, of which you can order food from and eat at Beer O'Clock. Glad I made it over here and left very pleased! read more

Not really much to add that hasn't already been said. Excellent tap list, with one of the best happy hours in town. They also have a crowler machine here I believe. Service is always quick and friendly. Perhaps best of all is this places proximity to Lardo and Grassa next door. So you can enjoy some great food while downing a beer or three. It really doesn't get much better than this over on the West Side (and yes, that's taking into account Baily's, the Upper Lip, Deschutes and Fatheads as well). read more

Very well hidden beer joint attached to Grasso's. If you're not careful, you'll walk right by it. Very basic and small but also very clean. Some booths along the window and of course the bar. They do not serve any food but you can walk down a hall and bring back food from Grasso and/or Lardo (I love Lardo). The beer is appropriately cold and they have screens showing all of the beers on tap and what they are about. I had a few and then headed out. BTW, the wifi is slow. read more

Excellent selection of local and imported beers. When I came in Over The Top, the Stallone classic was playing the final arm wrestling scene. A perfect pairing with my 9.2% Weizenbock which the bartender informed me is a very rare beer. I stayed into happy hour and to my amazement the prices on the beer board changed all by themselves. I am not sure who made this beer program but they did a phenomenal job. At that point I had a few more delicious beers while enjoying the The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross and a funky music selection. It's a shame this place doesn't stay open later! read more
