You all know that it's here - crawfish season! We ushered it in with a trip to Beerfoot Beach Bar. Crowded? Heck yeah! But that's a very good sign and even though we dispaired finding seating for three hungry people, the back room was opened up for the overflow crowd that I'm not sure they expected. While waiting, we had some excellent draft beer. If you find that you're craving something more exciting than the usual suspects, this is one of the great Galveston places to be. Sure there's Bud and Bud Light to be had, but DON'T. Give your taste BUDS a thrill and get a brew from their generous list of suds. It was a wait for the crawfish, but patience is a virtue that definitely paid off for us. This was Vudoo Viet-Cajun rather than traditional, and I think it was the perfect first choice for the season - with just enough spice, just enough citrus, and decently sized mud bugs, our three pounds practically put us in a swoon. Beerfoot serves crawfish at 2:00 on Sundays throughout the season, excluding Mother's day, and my advice is to get there around 1:00, find your table, get a beer, and prepare for some very good eats! read more

We were a bit confused as the sign outside says Beerfoot Brewery. This is definitely not a brewery, but an awesome bar. A large blackboard lists the craft beers on tap, and there are many. They are divided by type and the brewery location of each beer is noted. There is also a full bar available. We order two IPAs after a small sample of two recommended by the bartender. Both were from in state breweries, icy cold and served in chilled glasses. The inside vibe is beachfront casual. The interior was bright and well lighted and very clean. I would definitely give our experience five stars; only subtracted one as it's not a brewery as the sign says. read more

I was really looking forward to enjoying this place after hanging around the beach the whole morning, and at Murdochs where I got my first local teaser - 12 oz beer, while drinking in their cool spot overlooking the water and Pleasure Pier. Quality/Quantity - Never got a drink, so I can't share. Atmosphere - Good location, good signage. Great location for people watching. Easy in and out. Service - Zero stars Waited at the bar trying to make eye contact with the young male bartender who NEVER acknowledged me.Good news is that he was kinda working. 5 minutes later a young female bartender came out, made a drink or two, then disappeared to the back. Did they have a secret back room that I did not know about? Then, I noticed the young male bartender was talking with what I thought were customers, but all of which were probably his friends. In conclusion, I left after waiting what felt like 15 minutes. Entire time I could not make eye contact, I did not want to be rude and shout, but maybe I should have? What would you have done? There was no table service either as my daughter was able to snag a perfect center window table. In total there were about 20 people in the place - 6 groups. Lastly, I noticed the guy to my left was "dry" and the couple to my right was also "dry". But at least they were able to get 1 drink... This place is chill and right off the beach. You can taste a few flavors if you're not sure what you want and the staff are friendly and willing to answer all your questions. We stopped in on a Thursday night for a drink and it wasn't too busy. For being right off the main drag, which usually means hokey tourist place, but this has a great local genuine feel with great drinks and staff. read more

Correction, this place is not an actual brewery. But they do feature a nice selection of craft beers. We dropped in after a morning run struck my friend's fancy. The name itself warrants a visit. We started with a few samples of some beers I was curious about, then settled on one from Austin. Barkeep was helpful and friendly. Service was slow, but there's no need to hurry. On Island time! This place is a great spot for beer drinkers - they had beer alt weekly newspapers, a beer/peanut club. P.S. Not sure why some reviews are slamming the biz for not facilitating parking. Purchasing/renting land for parking spaces isn't cheap - especially for local business owners. Maybe chains (like the one that practically owns the Island) can afford it, but not the little guys. If you are an islander and root for the Dallas Cowboys this is the place to be on game days. Huge back room with a very large tv and they televise every Cowboys game. Wear your team jerseys and any other gear you have and drink pretty cheap beer. Ask for a bucket of beer so you don't have to go to the bar repeatedly. The main bar is up front but they man the back bar on game days. Hang out with 200of your closest friends and root root root for the Cowboys. Other teams fans are tolerated but accepted. Be prepared to expect some racing though. lol read more

Mixed feelings on this one because I really want to give a 5 star. Super clean and pleasant place, really dig it. BUT: beer prices are high (came in at 4:30 on a weekday and a 12oz draft $5.50, too much). For the sake of consistency this cost a star. Such a nice place, too bad. The cell reception is bad with no public WiFi. This would have cost a star but it improved a LITTLE as i was writing this so I'll give it to 'em, hence the mixed feelings. When I went here, I was under the impression that this was a brewery vs. a "beach bar" so I was surprised to see only two "Beerfoot" beers on tap. I tried their IPA (I can't remember the name) and I thought it was pretty good. It is mostly indoors which is different than most bars on the Seawall. They have a few tables, a bunch of seating at the bar and a few games to play. Overall the atmosphere is okay and the service was pretty good. I would probably opt for something a bit more open to the ocean while on the Seawall next time. read more

Fun bar!!!! Had a few cocktails here after demolishing oysters next door (blvd seafood, also really good). A friend I was with suggested we play jenga. Sure what bad can come from a harmless game a jenga, little did I know this game was not a game at all but a direct train ride to six feet under the ground. I would give this game a 1/2 star but I'm rating the bar not it's choice in games. The bartender Kylene was wonderful she even took the time to DRAW the outline of my body on the FLOOR shortly after taking a wet finger in the ear. The awesome beer choices and great service is what earned this bar a five star rating. My wife and I stopped in on a Wed night to have a drink, we're staying at the hotel next door. Visiting Galveston from MN and was excited to see a tap room so close to our hotel! Great selection of local brews and others, happy to see we were there on $5 flight night. Bartender was great, wish you weren't out of Beerfoot pint glasses though. He was very personable and struck up a conversation immediately upon our arrival. He listened attentively to what we liked and then made some very good recommendations, each of which were spot-on. I fell in love with this place after coming here on a Friday afternoon after work. I'm a fan of beer and this place has a lot of it, and the good stuff too! They have two walls of draft selections and a rather large cooler full of the bottled stuff. Beerfoot has a couple of their own brews that were really tasty. I also got the Lindemens Framboise because I'm a girl and it's my favorite. They have some happy hour specials throughout the week and entertainment such as a pool table, darts, Foosball, and televisions. The service was great. The bartender was there by herself and she did a great job handling the crowd of people. I also liked the fact that it was a bit of an older crowd, just drinking beer and shooting the breeze. read more

We live down the street from Beerfoot and came to enjoy some drinks with friends. I love the laid back atmosphere and the view of the ocean with huge windows that open to let the breeze in. They make a small selection of their own beers (which were yummy) along with carrying a huge selection of other brands. They also serve liquor incase beer isn't your thing. What a great addition to the seawall. I went on a Sunday night and as expected the place was kind of dead given that it was an off night at a fairly new bar. So I can't really speak much about the clientele, however the beer selection was great and very reasonably priced. I was shocked by the fact that this place had such a wide selection of drafts. I currently live in Houston and have been to my fair share of craft bars and after awhile you begin to expect the regular selection of Texas beers. What makes this place so unique is that they had about 10 beers on draft that you won't be able to find anywhere else, in Galveston or Houston. I hope they keep it up and continue to provide such a rare and interesting selection. The bartender was very friendly and stocked us with free peanuts and even comped one of my beers when the keg was tapped on the pour. After talking with him it seems they may also be brewing their own beer soon and sell it growlers. Support this place so it's still alive when I make it back down to Galveston! read more

Brand new bar right across from the beach. I went on a Thursday and there were maybe 10 other people in the place. As others have said, the key to this place is selection. Lots of selection. Awesome. The bartender was really nice and brought small tastes of the drafts as we asked. Be sure to check their menu and ask about changes that are not reflected on it - I came across an awesome double IPA that they had just tapped but had not gotten on the menu yet. Two dart boards, but you will need to bring your own darts as their selection is very slim. Also a pool table, fooseball table, and shuffleboard table. Several TVs playing the requisite sports games. Also, if you are so inclined, you can come and brew your own beer on their equipment, for a fee of course. Nice! read more

Wife and I travel to every brewery we can. When we got here, there was only one wait staff working the entire bar. Arrived just after Game 1 of Astro's ALDS and place was packed. Even though bartender was super nice, she was obviously in the weeds and service was very slow. Also wanted a brewery sticker to collect and they were out. Was told that they get asked 5x/day. If that's the case, then why don't they have them like yesterday?!? Seems like a big oversight as a business owner. Big reason for 2 stars was they only had 4 taps for their own brew and one was out!! I chose their White Stout. Interesting beer but took me a while to get down the hatch. This is a pretty cool little bar. It's not huge, but it has plenty of bar space and table space for larger groups. They have a good amount of craft beer on tap, and tons of bottled beers. The service was super fast (even though it was quite busy on a Saturday evening). I think they ever had a foosball table or pool table of my memory serves me right (I may have had a drink or two, haha). Great low key place to chill at after the beach! So disappointing. Came in on a Saturday night with 3 friends and had one of the worse customer service experiences ever. (We're all locals who were raised here, work here and love beer). We just wanted to drink a couple beers and relax. Not like we were a rowdy group or anything. The bartenders all seemed to hate their jobs. They were just so depressed and unhappy looking. Purposely trying to avoid you. Nobody acknowledged us and kept walking by, never looking at us but tending to other customers. when we did finally get service, the bartender was a complete douche. We ask about the different house beers, and he answers really annoyed and half assed, and doesn't even look at us the entire time he talked. We all ask to try certain ones, and he brings only one sample. When we order our beers, the ones we wanted were magically sold out. How does yagas think this establishment will survive with this type of attitude? I hope they get an entirely new staff. Because the place and atmosphere itself was really nice and has so much potential. read more

You have to be kidding me. This is one of the worst places I have ever visited, My daughter and I both enjoy craft beers and were excited to find this one while visiting Galveston in April. THe bartender was very helpful and told us about the many different available choices. He even had a beer of his own creation on tap that evening. When we made a return trip this week we couldn't believe we were in the same bar. The bartender working on the evening of May 6th was the extremely rude and offered no information about the new beers on tap or what their specials were for that day. With empty glasses he would pass by and not even acknowledge you. When my daughter called him on the bad service he asked us to leave. We then felt we were overcharged and returned the next afternoon to ask for a copy of our ticket and were asked to wait outside. I have seen several posts on their Facebook page complaining about the same person and these people also expressed their intention of not returning, My family loves Galveston and we travel there if during off season. It was very upsetting to be treated this way. Unless the owner of this very nice establishment gets a handle on this, he will surely cost him this business. Heard about this place from one of my craft beer websites i frequent, thought i'd give it a go when i was down in galveston for the weekend. Lots of craft beer on the tap wall- Southern Star Pro Am and St Arnold Divine Reserve 12 were the highlights, crazy awesome!! Beerfoot Beach Bar is a great place to come grab a drink in Galveston. Although it is a pretty small place, they have good service and a wide variety of beer. My only complaint is that it is pretty hard to find parking so you may have to park down the street and walk to the bar. read more
