Edward Duffin handled our check-in and made everything easy. He has a very warm, friendly personality and immediately made us feel at home. Throughout the stay, he was always helpful, always had a kind word, and never seemed too busy to answer a question or just chat for a minute. That kind of thing really does make a difference. We ate at The Fancy both nights, and the restaurant definitely deserves the name. The food was outstanding. Paula was our server both evenings and she was fantastic. We weren't quite sure what we wanted, so we asked her for recommendations both nights. She knew the menu very well, and everything she suggested was right on point. She was attentive without hovering, which I always appreciate. Seyma, the restaurant manager, also made our stay extra special. It was my wife's birthday, and somehow she knew. I'm still not sure how, but she went out of her way to make the evening feel special for her. She also helped us out twice with our dinner plans. The first evening, we didn't have a reservation and she was still able to get us seated. The second night, we did have a reservation but needed to push the time back, and again she was able to accommodate us. Both times she handled it with a smile and never made us feel like we were causing a problem. We even had the chance to talk with the General Manager, Jorin, for a few minutes. That stood out to me because you really don't see that very often. A GM taking the time to actually talk with guests says a lot about the way a hotel is run. I spent about 15 years working in hotels myself, so I probably notice some things that other guests might not think much about. I know how hard it is to have good service across an entire property, and that was one of the things that impressed me most here. It wasn't just the front desk or the restaurant. From The Fancy to the rooftop bar, the lobby bar, and everyone we dealt with in between, the staff was professional, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Our room was clean and comfortable. I had seen a few comments about the beds being on the firmer side, but personally, I liked the mattress. I'd much rather have a supportive bed than one of those old hotel mattresses with a permanent dip in the middle where you feel like you're trying to sleep in a mud pit. What I liked most about Hotel Lucine is that it feels stylish without being stuffy or pretentious. It has a relaxed atmosphere, great food, and most importantly, a really good team of people. A big thank you to Edward Duffin, Paula, Seyma, Jorin, and everyone else who helped make our stay such a good one. We were very impressed, and we will absolutely be back. Five stars from us.

But that's a very good sign and even though we dispaired finding seating for three hungry people, the back room was opened up for the overflow crowd that I'm not sure they expected. While waiting, we had some excellent draft beer. If you find that you're craving something more exciting than the usual suspects, this is one of the great Galveston places to be. Sure there's Bud and Bud Light to be had, but DON'T. Give your taste BUDS a thrill and get a brew from their generous list of suds. It was a wait for the crawfish, but patience is a virtue that definitely paid off for us. This was Vudoo Viet-Cajun rather than traditional, and I think it was the perfect first choice for the season - with just enough spice, just enough citrus, and decently sized mud bugs, our three pounds practically put us in a swoon. Beerfoot serves crawfish at 2:00 on Sundays throughout the season, excluding Mother's day, and my advice is to get there around 1:00, find your table, get a beer, and prepare for some very good eats!

We walked by it on a Friday evening around 10. When we went inside, there weren't many people yet, but within the next hour, it filled up quickly! I think the DJ realized that the dance floor was mainly millennial women and started playing music catering to them, which was awesome. We danced the night away and drinks were only $5 with free cover until 11pm for ladies. My bar tab for the night was only $25. That's the price of one drink at a nightclub in Austin! Cant beat that!
