The beer we had was a barleywine type which is a kind we don't often get but always enjoy when we do. The name of this particular beer was Shake and Date. The flavors to enjoy in this stronger ABV beer is Vanilla, Marshmallow and Dates. That is probably where the name comes in on that last flavor feature. The beer is sweet but more in a natural, evolved (mature) way and the beer is barrel aged so it's definitely going to pack a whallop. It's almost as if this business does this type of thing often because there was no alarm from the manager, then finally after much deliberation decided to send back the $10. Absolutely ridiculous. No : "I'm so sorry here's a free meal on us", or atleast a "here's a coupon or gift card for next time you come in", nothing. This is the type of thing that gets people closed down. We should report to the BBB. This is insane. And to not be offered anything to make it right is what really gets me. Like do they not want us to ever come back??? I got a Scotch Ale called Caber Toss This, Ye Wee Lad. Quite a mouthful for a title of a beer! This particular Scotch Ale was good as it was sweet, smooth and malty. One of the better Scotchs Ales I've had in a little while. I usually love my Scotch Ales to taste super strong and while that isn't really a common thing to see and this beer did quite fit that specific thing it was still an enjoyable one.
