I LOVE Yardarm. I think it's the perfect place for a quick taco, and grabbing a beer after being in the river. Location is perfect, it feels like a beach shack I love the atmosphere pets are welcome. You can wear swimsuits, flip flops, beachwear. Such a fun summer bar, super nice bartenders, pretty good beverage selection. They do have fans and misters going to keep you cool. I love the tacos, I think they're great especially the artichoke taco in the Carne Asada. Those are my two favorite. The tacos do close at nine so you're gonna have to make sure you get there early if you wanna try them out. Couldn't ask for more from this fun summer bar. Check them out, you gotta. read more

Like the atmosphere until closing out. Always tip minimum of 20%, typically more because I'm not forced into it and understand the industry. Was a little put off when I went to close out, the iPad is flipped around and my tip options are "30" "40" or "50" percent. Was icing on the cake because the food truck tip options where "20" "30" or "40" percent. Almost made me tip less. Good tips are earned, not forced. read more

Even thought this spot isn't by the sea it sure feels like it. The vibe is chill and it makes you feel like you are drinking a cerveza in Mexico. The lights dangled across the bar and sand add the right touch. The music playing travels to your inner pit and relaxes your uptight soul after a long day at work. What I am trying to say it, Yardarm is like a spa, for people who drink without the massage. I am a sucker for a patio, they tend to be one of my favorite things about life. This is MY dream patio. So just go try it. I am sad to say it is closing soon for the winter but sounds like if it is nice they will announce that they are opening on their Facebook page. Yeah. It's a steel container in Garden City. As sketchy as that sounds, the container opens to a spectacular bar, and the ground is sand. A taco truck on location and a live band made this place a diamond in the rough. The beer is great, diverse, and cold. The ambiance is eclectic yet endearing. The bathrooms are hilarious tin shacks. Tables are wide and chairs are wooden stumps. Stand around, hang out, drink beer, roll with it. My favorite part was the surfer dudes rolling off the river in soaking wet suits! Least favorite part was the business promoted drone that swooped down, buzzed overhead and gave off a generally creepy feeling. Ditch the drone. Drink the beer. Enjoy the day. read more

This is a great little bar that sometimes has a food truck open. It will remind you of those wonderful beach bars you get in Hawaii or the Caribbean. Sandy floor, bar height picnic table seating, surf decorations. Most of the seating is exposed, but there is some shade/cover up near the bar. Dogs are welcome too, which is awesome. It's also conveniently located a short walk from the Greenbelt. This is a unique bar on the Boise bar scene with a great vibe. It's the per place to enjoy warm summer evenings in Boise! I can't give it 5 stars anymore because I've witnessed the bartenders and the taco truck staff giving an attitude to others I've been there with. A couple of people I know refuse to go there because of the bad attitudes and the tip recommendations that start at 30%. I'm willing to look past that because I enjoy the setting and the tacos are good. read more

What a fun spot along the Greenbelt, I came on a Friday night and it was PACKED but a great energy. The drinks are fairly priced and there are lots of tables, bars, etc to set a drink on. I was more towards the exterior. The bartenders are definitely a little busy with all the people so know your order going in. For gluten-free folks they have some canned seltzers as well as a cider option. I had fish tacos from their food truck style boat as well. A little pricey at $5 per taco but absolutely delicious. Beer and wine only, with sand floors and misters to (try to) beat the heat. Located right next to the river, a nice day is standing room only, with bikers and surfers and dogs creating a great vibe. Gem Street Kitchen is the permanent taco truck in residence, and their tacos and sides are 5 stars. Artichoke heart tacos and grilled asparagus to die for. This is by far the best outdoor bar in the city of Boise. Honestly, when you are at the Yardarm it is like being in a beach down, and this is why: 1- It is located right next to the white water park on the Boise river. So catch some waves and then head straight over and grab a beer. 2- The open air, surfer feel. This is a very cool outdoor bar that's open during the summer. Pretty close to Quinn's pond. Really cool staff and friendly. I love that they have mist to help keep you cool under the sun. Located near the river in Garden City's up-and-coming hipster neighborhood, the Yardarm is a nice place for a summer beverage if you don't go on a weekend evening, as the place is totally packed (unless crowds are your thing). Nice sandy floor, chill atmosphere, beach-stall-bathrooms; totally reminds me of a Belize beach bar. The place isn't very big, so if you go an a weekend, prepare for some elbow and bum-rubbing. Unfortunately, the beer and vino aren't cheap, but that's what you get in Boise's trendy spots. Once they finish the nearby elite-hipster condos, you'll be able to access this place directly from the greenbelt, but for now, you have to weave your way through the neighborhood if you're walking from the greenbelt. They have a food truck that closes at 9 p.m., though I've yet to try it. Overall, this is a nice place to stop for a beverage if you're biking on the greenbelt or if you want to rub elbows with Boise's young hipster crowd on a summer weekend evening. read more
