As I am fairly ignorant about pocketknife details, he gave me photos of what he wanted and I showed them to a member of the staff. After a quick discussion about cost and value, he zoned in on the perfect selection. Most importantly is that when I presented it to him, he was happy. Their selection is impressive. But what added to it was the items that were not cutlery in natures. I found a Metal Earth kit for a sculpture that he also liked. Add to that the scented candle I bought for myself and the host of kits to make delicious foods or decorate them with sauces and I was satisfied. There is a somewhat small museum of knives and knife culture. Due to my ignorance about the culture, I took a few dozen photos and moved on. A few times a year, I head from TN to IN and using US 31W as bypass for Louisville bound and construction traffic, I can see myself stopping buy to pick up some gum, soup starters, soap, suace and such. It is a nice house.

Red Hill Cutlery is also home to the Kentucky Museum of American Pocketknives which displays over 100 years of knife history. I couldn't help but visit this pocket knife museum. I loved the bourbon balls and the antler key chain ring I got here as a surprise gift too. They have a stellar collection and history of knives . Everything I really wanted were in the hundreds of dollars range. This place is worth a visit if you happen to go to the Boundary Oak Distillery on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail next door.

Very pleased with the experience we had with AKB. Hope to use again for our kitchen…read more Ben and Chris were professional, knowledgable, and dependable. We were pleased with the plumbing, electricial, and tile (Ivan and Simon) sub-contractors that were used for our bathroom project. We've encountered our fair share of contractors and, for this job in general, received many over-the-top quotes and/or no shows. Ben was reasonably priced and consistent in his communication. He provided us with a project calendar (we've never had that happen w/ a contractor) and while, his team went over their original due date--unexpected issues--he maintained communication with us about who would be where, when, and why. Very happy :)

I had quotes from 3 other individuals/companies around town and they were either too sales-like for me or weren't responsive at all. I have to admit I was hesitant about going forward with AKB since I'd not read any review about them, but I had a good feeling after I met Benjamin to receive the initial estimate. I got the impression that he actually really cared about his work and the job he does and it was more than just a paycheck for him. I really liked how he was even able to give me a ballpark estimate with just some pictures I sent him before he came over to give a true estimate. I initially reached out to Benjamin in late May and we had decided to start work the first week of July (on that note, he also had earlier availability than anyone else I had received a quote from). We wound up pushing that back once we received the final quote as we wanted more time to save money for the job. He started work on our kitchen on a Monday and was basically done by Friday, except for a few items he had to come back to finish up early the next week. He was great about communicating when he would be at the house and did a fantastic job cleaning up each day--we were able to still use our kitchen in the evenings. We did the back-splash ourselves to save money, and after finishing that, I'm just floored at how beautiful this kitchen looks. I even have to force myself to go to sleep and stop staring at my kitchen each night. It was 100% worth the money and I would recommend Affordable Kitchen & Bath to anyone who wants quality work for a great price.
