Seriously tough call on the rating here. I think I'll settle on a 3 but it was super close to a 4, just several minor frustrations added up. I came here with one of my best friends who was home for Thanksgiving to have a girl's day out. BeeZr advertises a nice-looking brunch on the weekends so we thought we'd try it out. She wound up not being able to meet until later in the afternoon but I'm not opposed to a late brunch, so we got there around 1. It was a gray and dreary day on Thanksgiving weekend, so I get it being slow, but the restaurant was literally empty except for us and the servers. We joked it was because we'd rented the whole building to treat each other. The vibe is...fine inside. It definitely looks and feels more like a brewery than a restaurant, with large equipment and a sort of dimly lit atmosphere and a few large TVs by the nice bar. They have a small patio on the square which is REALLY lovely and definitely would've been my preference if the weather was nicer. Our server was okay. He was soft-spoken and not unpleasant, but did sort of have a knack for appearing at inopportune times during the conversation. I get that it's not always possible to avoid, but a little more discretion would've gone a long way, especially since we were the only ones in there. Our food and drinks came out in a timely manner. My biggest frustration was definitely the menu and item availability. I pre-read it and came knowing what I wanted (bananas foster French toast) only to discover that they were running a limited Thanksgiving weekend brunch menu and therefore it wasn't being offered that day. The first thing my friend ordered also wasn't available. I had my heart set on brunch so I asked for the breakfast burrito instead. Our waiter had to go check and make sure the kitchen could do it. Turns out they could - yay. But then I asked for potatoes to go with it -- and there were no breakfast potatoes available. I went with fries instead. When my burrito arrived at the table, there was no salsa or sour cream, which was supposed to come with it. Any component part of this experience is not a HUGE deal, but it all added up to be rather disappointing. My friend got the bulgogi tacos, which came in an order of two sort of small tacos. She liked them and said they were really good. She also got first a French mimosa and then a classic mimosa; I also had a classic mimosa. Both were generic but enjoyable. My breakfast burrito was decent, but I really missed the salsa and sour cream. The bacon inside was cut into tiny crunchy pieces, which I liked. The eggs were cooked very well but needed more salt and pepper. I enjoyed the bright burst of peppers and some were even a tiny bit spicy. It was a large serving but I wish it came with some side item instead of me having to order one. The side of fries was generous and they were really good -- super crispy but still fluffy inside. I thought the bill was a little high for 1 mimosa, a breakfast burrito, and fries -- almost $40. The burrito alone was $18, which seems like sooooo much for a brunch entree with no sides. Idk. Maybe I don't do mid-scale dining enough. Overall, I thought the quality of the food was solid enough that I'd consider returning, but I'd call ahead to see if they had what I wanted to avoid frustration. read more

I had never been to this place until I had a group meeting there. Staff was very accommodating, seating us upstairs immediately and making sure we had plenty of tables, chairs, plates, etc. I will note that the upstairs is HOT so they had industrial sized fans (eek!), but I think that's just do to the building. The pizzas weren't amaaaazing, but they were good. I tried the pepperoni and bulgogi and both were decently executed and ample in size. They have outdoor seating if that's your thing, service is good, and they really try hard. I'd go back. read more

Made a quick trip to Huntsville for a weekend getaway. BeeZr was our first stop for a drink and a late lunch. Wife and I split the Philly-like steak sandwich and an order of wings. Both were great BUT drinks were king. Will go back next time in town! Had another experience at BeeZr before we left town. Grand opening of Jefferson Alley and BeeZr offered a special menu. Stopped here for a quick beer in the late afternoon. All staff were sitting or standing near a table talking. I was shocked to hear no flights, but happy to hear free samples. I asked about 2-3 different beers and was told that they were tapped out but still displaying them on tap for all to see and ask about. As I decided on a beer and drinking it, an employee with a backwards hat and some facial hair was getting other employees to gamble on what I assumed was college basketball. They were all standing at a table and being loud and obnoxious, frequently leaving the bar unattended. A family walked in with two young children and sat down at a nearby table. Suddenly, the same obnoxious employee decides to yell his displeasure with his gambling situation and screamed the F bomb. Another employee was now behind the bar and laughed at this. Totally unprofessional. Beer was meh and service was atrocious. Have some respect for yourselves. I left as soon as I finished my beer. read more

Located in a popular downtown square, BeeZr is a unique gastropub that incorporates other "businesses" such as Chandler's Ford Brewing, the Champagne Taco Kitchen and Northside Coffee. On the Friday evening our party ate here, the block was being blocked off by police with musicians and food trucks setting up. There's plenty of outdoor seating and their vault high ceilings leave plenty of room for loud resonating conversations. There's also upstairs seating with a party room I was told. On one far wall are the large tanks and machinery you find at breweries. On the opposite wall is a long full service bar and in the middle is a large space for tables and chairs. If cleared, it would make a perfect dance floor. BeeZr's menu is unique if not pricey. Sharables include their popular Crawfish tail & sausage cheesecake, Lion head shishito peppers, tortillas, sweet potato crisps and Beezr wings. There are a couple of Salads and their famous Champagne tacos. They also have a large variety of oven cooked pizza. With only 3 Sandwiches on the menu, you won't leave hungry as their menu says because the Steak Michigan Tammy got was Yuge! Their house made brioche was filled with ribeye and beef brisket, grilled onions, mushrooms, then topped with buffalo mozzarella and garnished with cilantro and their own in-house sauce. I tried one of their specials, the seafood gumbo. They weren't lying when their menu says it has "colossal" shrimp! They're really prawns and yes they were huge and they were grilled to perfection! Yom Yom Yom! Together with small crawfish tails and sausage in a dark roux, the gumbo was served with rice and julienne fried okra. It's much "thicker" than your typical Louisiana gumbo, but it was quite good. Our large party of 8 arrived before happy hour and they all sampled and loved their beer choices. As the evening progressed and more people arrived, the noise level increased accordingly. Conversation was manageable, but this is certainly not the venue for a quiet romantic meal. The food has so much potential and the descriptions sound so interesting, but when it actually comes out, it's quite disappointing. We went for brunch and had Kerri's Casserole and Crawfish cheesecake. Such wonderful concepts, but taste of both were bland and overcooked. They both tasted like they were cooked perhaps a day before and then warmed in the microwave. Our server, Sean, was phenomenal, though. I'm not a beer drinker so with a name like BeeZr, this isn't a place I would typically go for. However, I got recommendations about their brunch so I decided to check it out. I sat at the bar so I could charge my phone even though I didn't want a drink. The Breakfast Casserole caught my eye on the menu so I didn't have to look too long. For the price point of $18 on the menu, I thought it was hopefully going to either be huge or come with a side of hashbrowns or breakfast potatoes. However when I got it, it was just two pieces. It was good, but I would have liked more meat in it and offered a side at this price point. I think for just the casserole a price of $8-12 would have been more reasonable. The bartenders were both nice, and offered me a taste of the Cheesecake sour beer since I don't like beer. This really was much better than any other beer or sour beer I've had! Not sure how much cheesecake I tasted, but it was definitely sour and something I would get in the future if I were at a place that only served beer. Overall, it was an alright experience. read more

Weird because it sounds a lot like the kitchen is understaffed or poorly managed. This might be a thing some "hip" places are starting to do, because the place down the street from this place does it too. It does nothing for the paying customer other than try to create a sense that you are lucky to be there and have that experience. It's stupid and in Russia those people become gulag visitors. Ambiance was like many other "gastro pubs" so nothing special. The crawfish cheesecake thing we ordered was ok, but reminded us more of crawfish meatloaf with no discernible crawfish taste. The steak sandwich I ordered "Steak Michigan" was a mess of salty, overly spicy shaved beef and it looked like the Green Giant threw up ok too. (Side note: I am writing this review partially because that meat revisited me this morning .) M'lady had the shrimp & grits and there was some sort of red sauce that was just not good. It made no sense from a culinary flow perspective in that dish. And the service. After the 30 minute wait to order, the food finally arrived and the server wasn't even the actual server. She basically just took our order and disappeared. Drink refills? EFF YOU, because they hold onto that Diet Pepsi like it's their crown jewels.- The bus people seemed to deliver more food than the servers so Nikolai gives them respect and wishes they got more tips than the servers do. Our group comes to Huntsville every year and the only place we want to go is BeeZr. We love the room upstairs, the great food and service. Can't say enough about this place. I hope I'm getting this right when I say it is 3 places in one: a coffee shop, a brewery, and a restaurant. We stopped in first for a coffee as I was participating in a coffee trail thing. Now, we are known to chat up purveyors of places and most people in the service industry like this but the conversation we had with, Keenan, the owner of the coffee shop was even better than usual- not just small talk, but he is cool and proud and interesting and we just really enjoyed hearing all he had to share. He made a great Honey Dirty Chai with oat milk ($5.59) and pulled a nice espresso ($2.00). The restaurant had also been on my radar because of the vegetarian/vegan options. So, we stopped back there for lunch. Reviewers and Keenan recommended the vegan Hot Tamale Supreme so we got that and the fish tacos (each $14) both were pretty incredible. Our waitress was just as enjoyable to chat with as Keenan was, plus we visited with Keenan a second time. The vibe is cool and it feels rather intimate in spite of how large the space is. I was a little worried reading their beer menu because they didn't have anything I typically get. But they are happy to bring out samples for you to try. I tried a watermelon beer and it was delicious. I loved that it was sour but not bubbly and carbonated. I also loved that I could get it in an 11oz! That is a perfect size beer for me. They have a great little patio out front with lots of seating. We aren't from here, but it seems to be the place to hang out after work. Great vibes and good beer. read more

The first time I walked into Beezr with my friends and sat down a couple of things really stood out for me. The beer was great, and the ambience was fantastic. It was kind of a dead night, and the bartender was cool enough to play music that we liked. (Slipknot- you don't always get to drink beer and rock out !). Fast forward to the surprise birthday my wife threw me. couldn't have asked for a better time and venue. we were in the private room upstairs and the bartender Heiko orchestrated one heck of a jolly ole' time. Being a bartender myself, I realize how important that position is to a party and he was spot on!! The food was delicious, the drinks were great (I was drinking his espresso martini and I was still ready to go at 4 AM. :-)) and everyone had a blast. Because of this, we just had to go back and throw my wife's birthday party in the upstairs room with Heiko running the bar for us again. I just can't say enough about the quality of the service and the food and drink. If you are going out in downtown Huntsville, I highly recommend checking out Beezr. Not gonna lie, I came in for the crawfish tail & sausage cheesecake. They do a good job. The cheesecake doesn't hold together well but it is delicious. You absolutely have to have the crust in your bite. It really balances it out and adds a good crunch. They have great happy hour. Have the mimosas. Visiting Huntsville for the day, had been walking around in the hot sun and decided to grab a drink. We sat outside. As noted by many, service was slow. We were told it was 'getting crazy inside'. They have daily specials, per the menu Thursday was $7 cocktails and half price wine bottles. The menu notes the $7 cocktails, one of which was Beermosa, we we went with that and a 10 oz draft sour. After ordering from our waiter we waited...and waited. Eventually the drinks appeared. The Beermosa arrived not cold, almost warm. Not sure if the glass was warm or it sat around for a while before being brought out. The tropical peach Margarita sour wasn't bad but didn't taste like the name or description. Since the waiter was spread then, asked for check next time saw him and gave my credit card. When I got the bill, we were charged $9 for the $7 drink. I absolutely hate when you can't trust a restaurant to provide an accurate bill. I paid it. They beat me out of $2. Definitely won't be back when in Huntsville again. Also heard a waitress talking to another table about drama among the staff... Save the drama and slow service and go elsewhere. read more

Checked out this restaurant during a girls night outing last night. First things first the staff did an amazing job at making sure we were comfortable. I loved the style of the restaurant, there were brewing machines and other cool machines around. I decided to try out the shrimp and grits, they were pretty good. I was a little confused at the flavors at first, but after taking a few bites I begun to like it more. The chorizo wasn't like your typical greasy chorizo, it was more like a chorizo chili (comparing to chili due to the thickness), the shrimp were huge and very filling. Eh... really wanted to love this place, and I wish we had. Slow (slow!!!) service, as many others have mentioned. About 15 minutes after ordering, our waiter said our order had been placed. So it ended up being a 20 minute wait for a beer, and about 35-45 for food My husband didn't love his $6 lager, and we somehow paid $16 for fried tortillas with small containers of guacamole, queso, and salsa (?!). The tacos were very good, but not enough to rescue the visit. There are only 2 tacos per order, so I also can't believe I paid $7 for each taco? They were good, but I don't think that good If you've got the time, maybe worth the visit? I'm not sure we will be back. Overall, it was fine The the excellent beer and ambience were severely disappointed by the food. The store has kind of a fun atmosphere, very open with the requisite view of both the bar and the brewing equipment. It's clean and attractive. The service was inattentive. My seafood gumbo was not up to snuff. Very salty, with old, fibrous okra. Darn. My wife's shrimp and grits were better, but just ok. Lots of shrimp, but a scosh overcooked, tougher than they should be. The sauce was fine, but not thrilling. The beer, however, was great. Got the Brett IPA. Yum. Get that.
