I didn't go into a salon and leave with a sore scalp. I have very tight coils and my hair has been combed with small tooth combs that yank my fine coils. It is also wrung out which causes serious tangles. This is why I opt not to wear my hair in natural styles. Based on her ratings, I decided to give this shop a try. Nicole is gentle while effective. My appointment was at 10:00 AM, but due to traffic I didn't arrive until 10:25. I felt awful, but Jaime was incredibly kind and understanding, and still took me in right away without any frustration. Once in the chair, everything went smoothly. She gave me a relaxing wash and a quick but thorough cut that turned out just how I wanted. I was surprised that my hair weren't shampooed at all during my service. I did a perm so he rinsed my hair a couple times.. but no shampoo before or after. The worst thing is their towel on the washing bed (the one that would contact with your neck). It smells (like dirty towels) and the location got contact with it felt itchy afterwards the smell from the dirty towel remains on my neck as well until I shower at home this should never happen at a four dollar sign salon. Besides that, the store was clean and quiet. My appointment was 1PM - 4 PM. Only two people were working at that time--the two owners. Tbh it was the first time I saw a hairdresser do everything himself--all the preparation, cut, perming, washing, etc. The limitation of staff resulted in lack of attentiveness. During the perm, the medicine touched my face, and overall the experience was not up to the standard. I really hope that they can improve because hair coco has lots of potentials.

She didn't assess the areas that need extra TLC due to hardened skin. The foot massage was about 30 seconds too. And my nails... She didn't use cream even once. I believe the mani service is supposed to come with lotion and "massage." I didn't get either. I got a clear coat on my nails, and some areas are missing application. My fingernails look awful, not only from the splotchy paint but since dried skin still peppers the area. I tipped Julie 20% because she was nice, and I genuinely think she doesn't realize how bad this service is. I am struggling to accept that I just paid $78 for this experience. I am so upset. I will book an appointment somewhere else and hope they can give me the spa treatment I should have received and paid for.
