Similar to other reviews I've seen, my wife and I were late to getting dance lessons. We admittedly have mutual pairs of left feet, and knew we needed lessons, but got swept up in planning all of the other details. We found Lee at Beginning Ballroom approx. 1 month out from the wedding (right in the most stressful time!). Lee was great in getting us ready to go. Over that month, Lee worked his schedule around us and made sure we could get in all of the lessons we wished. Most of all, it is clear that Lee cares about his wedding couples and wants them to get out of his lessons the things they need to pull off a brilliant first dance. My personal recommendation would be to start working with Lee early, because you won't regret it, and he can turn the worst dancer into a wonderful one. We had the best time for a date night! Lee is a walking (and dancing) one-man comedy show. We learned how to merengue and had a blast. Really unique, affordable, no-frills, high quality, and flexible opportunity to try dancing from a professional without having to commit to a program or subscription. My experience with beggining ballroom has been phenomenal! My fiancé and I decided to take 10 sessions but started off with group sessions. Both were important to build confidence in our dancing. My husband and I took dance lessons from Beginning Ballroom prior to our wedding. We had a great time learning not only a great selection of moves for our first dance, a foxtrot, but also the steps to several other dances including swing, the waltz, rhumba, and even salsa. Beginning ballroom's private lessons were a great break from wedding planning where we could just focus on spending time together and having fun. In fact, we enjoyed the lessons so much that we continued even after our wedding! We had a wonderful time dancing throughout our wedding and had many guests come up to complement us on how great our first dance was. In addition, now that we know how to dance, we have much more fun at weddings and other events where there is dancing. Beginning Ballroom has a great atmosphere for learning to dance. My husband and I were married 12/31/12, and I wanted to have a first dance that was more than just swaying in a circle. My husband is not so coordinated when it comes to dancing and was reluctant about a fancy dance. After several lessons with a patient, enthusiastic and encouraging Lee, we had an amazing fist dance. Lee was able to break down the steps in various ways until it clicked. He was also very flexible with lesson times, as we are both physicians and have crazy schedules. We hired two dance instructors to come to my daughter's wedding reception and dance with our guests. The instructors were friendly, fun and wonderful to dance with. We attended some group but found the private lessons suited us best. They are so welcoming and work with you through everything. My husband and I were scrambling weeks before our wedding to find a dance class that would work with our hectic schedules. My wedding planner recommended Beginning Ballroom and I can't thank her enough. Lee was extremely accommodating to our schedules and we only had two weeks to work with before our big day. We explained that we weren't expecting miracles, but wanted our first dance to at least be a few steps above a 6th grade graduation dance with the typical swaying back and forth. We definitely received that and more. My husband has never been comfortable dancing and Lee made him feel at ease.
