Contacted the doctor's office and was told the request is waiting to be signed off on. My medication ran out. Another phone call and finally my pharmacy let me know it was ready for pick up the same day that call was made. Then a WEEK LATER Streetville medical's receptionist calls to tell me my medication is ready. To which I respond it's really late. Her response was "I don't know what to tell you, I'm just delivering a message." Extremely dissatisfied with the staff and service at this point and I get the feeling I'm not the only one.

I consider myself tough with a high pain tolerance, so normally I would rest, ice, and work through an injury on my own. But by the end of the week when each step I took gave me a crazy shooting pain that was difficult to describe, I called Triangle for a consult. I met with a younger physiotherapist, Kendall (who is no longer working here but my review sticks!). She diagnosed me with Achilles Tendonitis, which based on my activities growing up (dance, horseback riding), I probably have had this for awhile and it just decided to flare up. I saw Kendall at Triangle for about 10 sessions. With her professionalism paired with take-home stretches, I was able to work through and I now do not have any pain in my Achilles Tendon which I'm so grateful for. The front desk staff was also pleasant, organized, and when my availability didn't exactly match Kendalls, they worked with me to find something that worked for both of us. The massage therapist Charisse arrived at 7:58am and I waited until 8:07 for her to take me to the room. And then found out that the appointment was only booked for 30 minutes not an hour like I requested when booking. And off course it was my first time the therapist had to do a short interview for what my reason for the visit blah blah blah that took another few minutes so technically I only got like an 18 minutes massage, didn't even get my shoulders worked on. She literally stop at 8:29am. So if you started the appointment late shouldn't you make it up for it. If you have a patient/client booked for 8:00am shouldn't you be ready by the time. Beside they screwed up my appointment, I requested for 1 hour and got a confirmation email but in the email didn't say anything about the duration of the appointment and off course I would assume it was booked for 1 hour as I requested. On the website they said if you're late for your appointment the length of time will be deducted from your appointment and if you are no show they will charge you full price as their time is very valuable. And the client/patient time is not valuable?? Horrible service!!

Understanding the inconsistency of the dental industry is crucial, and it's a perspective that I believe needs to be shared. I acknowledge the knowledge of this dental team and the cleanliness of the office with its modern equipment. However, it's important to also consider the patient's perspective in order to bring about the necessary changes. My concern is the "cost to do business, authenticity and transparency." Here, you cannot get your teeth cleaned without a full consult from the dentist first, multiple costly photos (from all angles!) and xrays, and this consult isn't just a "let's check to see the general health of your teeth," which is what I would expect and nothing more unless I ASKED for it. I do not care if I have a narrow jaw at 54 years of age...I am not a child that needs, wants or asked for reparative measures. I take extreme care of my teeth, and it shows (photo attached). I do not need SPECULATORY advice on why my 2nd last two molars failed me - I explained that I know exactly why...one reason was I was severely lacking nutrients after the birth of my child and simultaneously had 3 front teeth crumble...yet this was ignored in order to have me explore myofascial correction options because it was maybe due to my narrow jaw. The other molar issue I had was because another dentist removed all the enamel from my molar and crowned it unnecessarily (made a great amount of $$$ off this!); pain and sensitivity got so intense I developed a condition called condensing osteitis and told NEXT I needed a root canal...I went to my dental surgeon and had the entire tooth extracted. Trust was lost. The dental industry needs correction and transparency--it's a big problem. No one should leave a dentist's office paying $654 out of pocket when their intent was to get their teeth cleaned, and they get them cleaned regularly every 8 months, yet be told there were issues and a multitude of costly photos and x-rays taken without so much as a discussion on the cost of these. I had just undergone dental surgery 10 days ago and explained the sensitivity of my mouth (an old root canal extraction done by my excellent dental surgeon, not this dentist). This fact was ignored, and I sat in a dental chair for 3 1/4 hours to get a talking to about my narrow jaw and cleaning that was so severe that I felt empathy was not a part of this dental practice. I am still sore all over my body from the tension and pain I experienced from the cleaning. So, to those reading this, I wrote this so you know exactly what you're getting into beforehand and to help with transparency & consistency within an industry that needs more of it. The dental industry needs a huge revamp.

From the consult all the way up to my procedure date two months later everything was explained to me thoroughly. I got to speak with the surgeon multiple times and they answered all my questions. They have really great refractive consultants that you correspond with and who are there to answer qs about pricing, dr note etc. The only reason I docked one star was because the wait times during the consult and my eye measurement day were very long. At no point did I feel nervous because they carefully explained everything. The measuring devices they use are state of the art and beyond inaccuracy that is needed. I know this as a fact because I am a product designer and have helped develop medical devices in my career as an industrial designer. I for over 60 years I have suffered with extreme myopia and had I known about how effect refractive replacement lens were, I would have done this sooner. I have never had 20/20 vision before. The best I have had with glasses is 20/35 and even then it would fluctuate to 20/40. All the staff were cheery, professional and genuinely happy. I would recommend the Herzig Eye Institute to anyone who wants perfect vision whether or not you have cataracts or poor vision. Glasses and contact lenses cannot do this to the extent I have seen. The operation was painless and I never once used Tylenol or Advil.
