Terrible experience with an uncomplicated cataract surgery and horrible aftercare. No warning that I had Dry Eye prior to surgery. It's been 6 months and my eye has not recovered. I've never had to wear glasses except for reading, but I now need them at all times. The sales surgeons run a profitable business. A consent form and information package were sent via email to go over important details, what you should expect before and after the procedure and activity restrictions. During these covid-19 times extra precautions are in place. I was called twice to confirm my appointment date and time and asked pre-screening questions. Morning of my procedure, once again, I was asked pre-screening questions via the intercom, had my temperature taken and then had a seat in the waiting room. The chairs have signs on them so that waiting patients are appropriately spaced out. Just a note that a companion is not allowed to wait for you in the waiting room. Only patients are allowed. You will have to be dropped off and picked up. A staff came to provide me a cap, gown, mask and shoe coverings before taking me for eye tests (like ones when you go to the optometrist), explained post operative instructions and gave me a pouch containing the eye drops that I would need following the procedure. Doctor Stein saw me for a few more tests and then I was taken downstairs for the procedure. I was in 2 rooms for the whole procedure and it went by pretty quick. As a short summary: my eyelids were held open with a device to ensure that there wouldn't be any blinking, I was told to look at the green light and given a countdown of the amount of time left during the procedure. In the info package there was a note that there may be an odour that's like burning hair and I did smell that but not to worry since the laser is a cold laser and there was no burning hair. I was feeling a bit woozy when getting up and going to the recovery room to rest but the assistants are there to guide you. Just prior to going to the recovery room there was an option of receiving a box of chocolates or a Toronto Maple Leafs cap as a gift. When your ride has arrived you leave through the back door and put your cap, gown, shoe coverings in the trash bin before leaving. Followup and checkups can either be done at Bochner or with your own optometrist. The next day my eyes were checked and I was informed that my eyes were healing well and that my vision would improve over the next couple of weeks. At my one week checkup I was advised that my vision was 20/20! and to continue with the eye drops. P.S. In the back reception there's a clear box to leave pairs of glasses to be donated P.S.S. After decades of hemming and hawing about getting eye surgery, I finally took the plunge and did it. From the consultations to the tests, pre-surgery to surgery to post-op, everyone I interacted with at Bochner was incredible. They patiently answered my zillions of questions, spoke with me in soothing and reassuring tones when I had a freak out* in the operating room, and again, patiently answered my zillions of questions during the follow up. They also all managed to be bright and cheery even as they were following strict pandemic safety guidelines, as if it were no trouble at all. In general, the whole staff treat eye surgery like an easy breezy walk in the park while maintaining professional. I had the implantable contact lens surgery (ICL) which was the only option available due to my very high prescription (-12.5 in both eyes). The procedure went without a hitch. They explained what was going on every step up to the surgery. Once I was in surgery - fully numbed and awake - they stopped describing what was happening, thankfully. I do not need to know that an incision is being made in my eye. I will never need to know that. For those who love that stuff, they would probably tell you. In the surgery waiting area, you might be "lucky" enough to watch someone being operated on in one of the OR's screens that happens to face the easy chairs, you monster. There is a bit of soreness after the surgery, but the team gives you a heads up on what to expect so you're not freaking out at home. They also give you some drops and a sheet outlining aftercare. It's one day after my second surgery (ICLs are done a day apart) and I can almost see perfectly in both eyes. Any discomfort is fading hour by hour. All in all a great experience. Highly recommended. *They give you a lorazepam before the surgery to calm your nerves. Medication tends to take longer to kick in for me than anyone might expect so I was fully on edge for my first surgery. For my second eye, they gave me the pill much earlier, probably a request from the surgical team. Also, I've never ever had anything more invasive than stitches in my life, so I was pretty scared. administrative staff is extremely rude, dismissive, and disrespectful. I was trying to arrange my 1 week follow up and the lady I spoke with was talking to me like I'm such an inconvenience to her, not offering any empathy and speaking over me when honestly I wasn't even trying to be a neucense to her. When I told her that her behaviour towards me was very disrespectful she responded with a "ok bye". Didn't even offer an apology or anything like that. the surgery was ok and my doctor was great, I was going to send them a thank you package because I felt very cared for during the surgery but after dealing with this person - I will continue my follow ups at my own family doctor. After looking at reviews I realized a lot of people have dealt with this personality at their office so I really hope they do something about this because I would not go there or refer anyone there. $5000 out of pocket should atleast get you respectful behaviour - everyone deserves to be spoken to with kindness. I can only speak for myself and detail my experiences with the Bochner Eye Institute. People can draw their own conclusions as to the care I received. My experience with Bochner was, for the most part, negative. The best praise I can give is to the support staff who were friendly and helpful. And the quality of the cataract surgery itself was good (although two months later my eyes are still "swimmy"). But otherwise . . . . The post-operative care I received was cursory and gruff. After the first surgery I was surprised at the examination the next day that the doctor didn't bother to ask me how my eye was doing or if I had any concerns. At no point did she ask how I was feeling. I've seen my vet show more empathy to my cat during an examination. At the conclusion of my first surgery, the staff in the operating room were kind enough to allow me to catch my breath and pull myself together after a grueling procedure (halfway through the surgery my left hand started shaking uncontrollably). The treatment after the second surgery didn't go as well. Within ten seconds of completing the surgery, the technician monitoring my heart rate demanded to know what medication I was taking. He also told me that my rapid heart rate during surgery almost sent me to the hospital. Instead of allowing me to gather myself after a very difficult surgery, this technician was badgering me. And to what purpose? The surgery was over. Instead of allowing me to recover, this technician was causing me undue stress and grief. I called Bochner the next day because I wanted to speak to someone about the technician. So that he wouldn't harass patients in the same way in future. I was told that someone on staff would get back to me "shortly." Six days passed and Bochner couldn't be bothered to return my phone call. And then there's the receipt for the nearly $3000 that I spent for the surgery. The staff gave me a printout from the credit card machine--the type you'd get at the corner store for buying a loaf of bread. My insurance company told me that Bochner needed to provide a proper receipt with details about the surgery. I e-mailed Bochner and they replied that the "proper department" would get back to me "directly." Days passed: nothing. I telephoned Bochner (eventually getting through to a person rather than a recording) and was told that I would receive the receipt by the end of the day. Again: nothing. It was only when I had a third party contact Bochner and demand the receipt that they finally sent it to me. A receipt that they should have given me two months previously but didn't bother. I encountered care at the Bochner that ranged from excellent (the junior medical staff) to indifferent/incompetent (the surgical and office staff). My phone calls and e-mails to the Bochner were routinely ignored. All in all, I found my experience with Bochner to be terrible. Would I recommend the Bochner Eye Institute in Toronto? All I can say is, God bless Dr. Stein and all who work at Bochner. I was very nervous about getting laser eye surgery, but I decided that enough was enough and I don't want to live a life wearing glasses anymore. From point A all the way to point Z, I received professional and personal care. Everybody makes it such a big deal, but reality I was in and out of there in a few hours, and it was not at all uncomfortable or painful. Recovery time was also a couple of days, and they give you a full kit with everything you need for a few days. It has been exactly 3 weeks since I got laser, and I still can't believe that the world is much clearer. No more switching between glasses and sunglasses, wearing dry contacts, and not seeing your legs as you shave them in the shower. I'm looking forward to going to the beach and not being worried about getting sand in my contacts, or greasy sunblock on my glasses! PROS: - Student discount! Very happy with my experience here. It's a big decision to get laser eye surgery and there are many uncertainties. Bochner was great in addressing these uncertainties and explaining them to me. From the initial consult to the day of the surgery everything was explained, if a tad hurriedly. Staff was generally helpful and cordial, except the doc who examined my eyes the day after surgery. She was chewing some stinky food while examining my eyes and clearly didn't want to be there (it was a Saturday). There is quite a long wait list. I thought I could do the free consult and book my surgery right away but there's about a 6 month wait, so plan for that. I got in on a last minute cancellation 3 months ahead of schedule and was very happy about that. It's a very comfortable environment here, if not a bit busy. There were many surgeries ahead of me and I think I was the last of the day. Post surgery there wasn't really anywhere for me to sit while I chilled out until one group of people left. I'm about 5 months in and my vision is great. I still can't believe I can see so well without glasses or contact lenses. Eyes are still a bit dry but not too bad. I had cataract surgery at the Bochner in 2010 in which the wrong lens was put into my Right eye, there was no anaesthetic drip, I was charged twice, and now 10 years later, every day I now wake up with pain in my Right eye, which has poor 20-40 vision and not the normal vision I was promised. I need good vision for extensive reading. That's why I spent thousands of dollars. Post-surgery Dr. Stein attempted to improve my vision by asking me to sit in a chair while he did laser corrections. No kidding. I would never permit such a thing again. How can it possibly be precise? When I think back, I realize that the atmosphere changed when I was accompanied by a visible minority healthcare co-worker to assist me to get home post-surgery. After asking every single eye doctor over the next 9 years what was wrong with my Right eye and receiving no answers, I finally had to have left eye cataract surgery in 2019 and went to the Herzig Institute where I was treated with kindness, received a pain-free drip anaesthetic and have had a pain-free complication-free recovery and now enjoy good vision, both near and far in, my left eye. After persistent questioning about my Right eye, I eventually learned that the lens put into my Right eye (at the Bochner) was not a proper lens for anyone to put in in 2010. I paid to have a flexible lens put in and this was basically outmoded hard glass not in use in 2010 at any clinic. I then struggled for many weeks in 2019 to seek my own records and finally was sent the entire Bochner file. I had paid for extra testing, travelled to their Scarborough testing centre, wrote a letter saying I needed to read 100 pages per day, and still received this terrible lens. Why? Every day I wake up with Right eye pain from the lens put in at in at the Bochner Institute under frightening conditions. It became very uncomfortable in the third-year, post-op and has continued, no matter what remedies I have tried. Apparently the lens can't be safely replaced with a proper one. I'd like to think it was an innocent error but I've checked into this and learned that the wrong lens can never be accidentally used as ophthalmologists use detailed checklists and practises to prevent any mix-up. I've read that some seniors have been given old improper hip implants by unethical doctors, rather than the hip implants they needed, by clinics not wanting to write off old stock. This is an incomplete review of the PRK procedure with Dr. Raymond Stein. Went for the consultation and had an appointment with Bonnie after going through a few machines and she suggested me to do the PRK rather than Lasik, she explained that this will take a longer recovery time and cost would be the same for both procedures ($5400). Since I stare at the computer screen pretty much the entire day at work, she suggested that a week of recovery time would be best before heading back to work. This is the main reason why I give 2 stars, I went back to work after 10 days of rest as suggested, I could not read my emails for more than 15 minutes before everything becomes a blur and had to request another week off. So far, i'm very pleased with the result however, the consultation process was very misleading. Day 0: surgery day, pain and discomfort few hours after surgery Day 1-4: noticeable difference in recovery. Day 5: contacts removed, bit more comfortable Week 2-5: very little to no changes in vision. Still unable to read or work. Week 6: Huge improvement. Finally able to work and drive. Week 7: Went back see the optometrist and they said I have 20/25 vision and is still in process of recovering. Half a year later: everything is great vision is approximately 20/25 with no issues at all. Eye drops are comforting but not required. Overall I'm very pleased with the results but if you're expecting to go back to work in a week, this is not for you. There was a long period of time where I have seen no improvements or even gotten worse than the day before but turns out it is perfectly normal. Everyone heals at their own pace and at the end of the tunnel, it feels great and the only regret is not doing this sooner. read more

I was very fortunate to have my Lasik procedure done here last week - and yes I'm typing about a week later ;) My experience so far has been great, from the initial consulation, to aftercare...(I have a follow up appointment later this week. The staff are really great, attentive and professional, and do they a great job and making sure their clients/patients feel comfortable. They walked me through every step of the procedure and carefully explained everything that I would experience, and how to care for myself afterwards. I totally recommend them - I trusted them with my vision afterall. For those who wear contacts/glasses - it kind of feels like at the end of the day, I should take out my contacts...except I'm not wearing any. I had my PRK procedure done 1.5 months ago at Bochner downtown. My consultation was done in Scarborough with Lynn and I must say she is a very responsible and reliable consultant!! She reassured me with a lot of information and clearly stated the entire process from pre-op to post-op. The staff downtown was fabulous when i went in for my procedure. They were all very attentive to me from when I entered to when I left. (I even got chocolates!!) My vision prior to surgery was: Right (OD): -6.25 with -1.75 astigmatism Left (OS): -6.00 with -2.75 astigmatism Now, its 20/25. This was the result of my vision check after 1 month. This review is going to be long, so here's the TL;DR - I'm blown away by the experience and results I got from Bochner & Dr. Stein and genuinely recommend them. I started out near-sighted with astigmatism. Details are below: The Initial Thinking: I like to think I'm a fairly critical thinker and someone who has a decent head on their shoulders when it comes to the expectations of a procedure. I went into this knowing I was only going to do consultations with the biggest names in the business (because discount eye surgery sounds like a freaky idea) and that I'd want to use technology that has a large number of case studies backing it up. After doing some digging I came to the conclusion that LASIK was a good option for me - I had astigmatism and a mild prescription, LASIK has been around for 30+ years with a massive number of use cases, people know how it behaves if you have to have a second or third surgery done, and it doesn't seem to interfere with other eye surgeries. I also saw Herzig for a consultation and they recommended SMILE - which honestly might have been fine, but it's too new and they just don't know how it behaves with, say a further correction, or with cataract surgery, or over extended periods of time. The Consult: My consultation went really well with Bochner - they were willing to explain the low-level details to me of exactly how the flap is cut and what layers of the eyeball are involved. For someone like me, knowledge is comfort! I was really grateful they personalized the experience once I made it clear that I was not squeamish and genuinely wanted to know. Big shout-out to Bonnie for that, you put me at ease immediately. The Appointment: It was really easy to book and the process seemed fairly straightforward. I actually didn't realize how many people will end up having this surgery in a given day - when I showed up I was amazed at how many folks were in the waiting room. This, to me, is a great sign - at no point in this process had they made me feel rushed out the door (and I ask A LOT OF SCIENTIFIC QUESTIONS so honestly that isn't an uncommon experience for me) but at the same time they were performing this surgery all the time. The waver is terrifying because it lists all the known worst-case outcomes with their low rate of occurrence, but after I braved that and sat through the various tests they were doing, it was time for the operation. The Operation: I don't want to gross anyone out so I won't go into the low-level here. I'm very personally grateful to the folks who explained this process to me so that I was much less frightened by it than I otherwise might have been. I won't lie - that flap part is stressful to go through, though it seemed to be about 15 seconds per eye total. The actual laser surgery itself was also incredibly short - all in all I think I was in the two different surgical rooms for around 2-3 minutes. As soon as it was done I was already adrenaline crashing and woozy. The body protects what is wounded, and I barely wanted to open my eyes. While I was waiting for my ride to bring the car around, I braved opening my eyes a bit behind the (really ugly haha) sunglasses they provide, and I realized I was blurry, but EQUALLY blurry even at distance. Good news already. I want to say, I saw Dr. Stein for my procedure, and he was very kind, very patient, and put me very much at ease. Thank you! The Recovery: I ended up sleeping most of that day, which I believe is fairly common, and most of the following ones too. I work at a desk job and have abnormally large pupils to begin with (and light sensitivity) so after the surgery this was amped up to unbearable levels. Thankfully I had taken a week off work, so I was able to recover. Now, 22 days after the surgery, the halos are much smaller than they started with, my light sensitivity is back to my personal usual level, and my vision is above 20-20. I knew going in with my extra-large pupils that I'd likely end up with night haloing for a long time, if not permanently, but this does not bother me as a trade-off for amazing distance vision. I'm actually kicking myself for not doing this sooner. The Conclusion: The staff at Bochner have answered my million questions patiently, made me feel very comfortable, and have added a personal touch to the experience despite how many patients they have. Definitely recommended. A word of caution: Make sure you know what your risks are for haloing and light sensitivity and determine beforehand if the trade-off is worth it. For me, I knew it would be. If you drive at night constantly, it's worth considering, as it might be more of a negative impact. This has nothing to do with the people performing the procedure and is simply a side-effect of LASIK itself. Good luck! read more

As someone who was constantly looking up reviews prior to my procedure, I thought it's only fair that I left one after my PRK done with Dr. R. Stein. I am a medical student who had been contemplating laser eye surgery for a while now, with my pre-op prescription at -7.75 and -7.50. Although many of my colleagues are hesitant, I felt that the benefit of not having to wear corrective lenses outweighed the potential risk with the surgery. This is a personal decision and many find that corrective lenses are not worth the potential risks. I was originally deemed a LASIK candidate, but pre-op scans showed that my cornea was on the thinner side so we went with PRK, which is known to have a longer recovery period. I was actually happy about that as I was told by ophthalmologists that some of the complications are directly related to the flap that is created with LASIK and with PRK, which has no flap, decreases these risks (I am no expert but this is what I had been told). On the day of surgery, I saw Dr. Stein for a brief 5 minutes or so. He was nice and calming but I did find that he was very rushed. He answered my questions (knowing that I have a medical background) but with little explaining. His ophthalmology assistant, was much more empathetic and was willing to answer more questions. This would probably be my only complaint and you can't shake the momentary idea of being in a chop shop. During the actual surgery, again, Dr. Stein did minimal talking and it was the technicians who explained what was happening. He did say a few words to me near the end and it was comforting but I think he could've done a bit more during the procedure. Procedure itself was essentially pain-free. Post-op day 2-3 were the worst, with a lot of swelling and it felt like I was constantly cutting onions with marked tearing and irritation. By day 4 the swelling had reduced and tearing subsided. Currently at post-op day 5, I have some light sensitivity and my eyes tire easily. Visual acuity is decent, with some blurry vision but otherwise good! Waiting to get my contact lens removed today so looking forward to see how that changes my acuity. Overall, I am happy with the results so far but I think Dr. Stein could make some effort to speak with his patients. Additionally, it is still unclear what the 20+ year complications will be so fingers crossed it will all be okay. read more

4 stars and here's why: for someone like me, getting my eyebrows threaded, or going to the dentists are all painful experiences. Call me crazy, but all these things terrify every bone inside my body, and hence laser eye surgery is no different. The reason why I gave them 4 stars was because of the lack of information I got during my consultation appointment. During my laser eye surgery day (4 days ago) I was surprised to find out that there were two procedures done. I was under the assumption it was only one procedure. Secondly, I did not like how the assistants forcefully grab your eyelids to drop the numbing drops into your eyes prior to surgery- forgive me I'm a wuss, give me a moment to process that you're putting foreign substance into my eyeballs. Rather it would have been nice if they talked you through everything. (I understand for most people this wouldn't be an issue, not everyone is a scaredy cat like myself). Why I did laser eye surgery: I decided to take the plunge because I really wanted 20/20 vision. I've worn glasses since I was 8, and contact lens since I was 16, and was getting over it. My eye sight was pretty terrible- 5.0 in both eyes I think. Going to beaches, and swimming in waters were always terrible experiences for me - my contact lens would fall out and I would literally not be able to see anything; or I would be closing my eyes in the water to prevent my contacts from falling out. This had to be rectified. During the surgery: I had two procedures done- one to make the flap, and the second to correct vision. First procedure was about 30 secs in each eye, and second procedure felt about the same. The scary part for me was the ring they put in your eye to keep them apart (note, no pain whatsoever, more so the idea of it is scary). They even allow you to bring someone with you to watch the surgery. Few days after surgery: on the first and second day, sunlight glare was very bothersome so I constantly wore the sunglasses they gave me. My eyes felt dry but nothing too unbearable and the drops helped this. I refrained from watching tv or using my phone for the first two days (they say you can use these things in moderation). My blood vessels popped in both eyes, so I am now walking around with blood shot eyes. Doctor said this was common, and there was nothing to worry about. It should go away in a week. Verdict: All in all, bochner is really good with the appointments and making sure they got the job done well. They do follow up checkups one day after, one week after, 1 month after, 3 and 6 months. I went in at 2pm, and was out at 3:50. The only problem I have here, is that Bochner is 9-5, so follow up appointments require you to take time off work. They say that you can visit your own doctor for follow ups if you need to. At the end of my procedures, they offered either a raptors hat, maple leafs hat or chocolate as a hoorah for making it through. I thought this was a nice touch. Nonetheless, I would go through laser eye surgery 100000 times just to see as clearly as I do now (4 days later). I would recommend Bochner based on my own experiences, and the countless other recommendations I got. read more

I got laser done at Bochner 4 days ago - and I'm shocked at how easy it was. Recovery times vary, but I was fine the day after. One thing I wish I'd known - you lose all vision for about 20-30 seconds in the first room, when they do the suction and flap. The actual laser part was a breeze (just look at the green light for 1-2 minutes.) Also: take the Valium you're offered. It cuts down any anxiety, but there's no 'drugged' feeling at all. Also: you're offered a sweet Jays hat (or leafs, or raps) afterwards. A nice touch. The staff and surgeon (dr stein) were so lovely and I always felt like I was in the best care. The price is steep - $5400 all included for two eyes - but worth it to never deal with contact lenses again. read more

Surgery was completed mid-December 2015. I didn't spend much time with Dr. R. Stein but he was friendly, personable and proffessional. I was taken in on-time and staff on the surgery day were all friendly and organized. The evening following LASIK surgery I had almost 20/40 vision. The 24-hour follow-up re-check was completed by a different doctor on-time with only a couple minutes of wait. I had "flawless flaps" and essentially 20/20 vision next day. Three days later my vision was clear enough to update my drivers license. Dryness was a major issue for me - you may end up spending some serious coin on preservative-free eye drops - be warned! Be very careful about rubbing your eyes - I used the sun shades while sleeping and showering for two weeks to be safe (I am a stomach sleeper and used to have a habit of rubbing my eyes a lot in the shower). The One-week and one-month check-ups were completed by yet another doctor (they seem to have maybe 4+ opto/ophthalmologists on staff) again swiftly with only a couple minutes wait. i went there in 2007 because i have an eye diease kerakatous im i was seen by a nurse rn for a consulation on my frist visit she suggested contact lenses hard than i got them it was very difficult for me to put them in my eyes the nurse was very disrespectful to me i did complain about her the contact lense person was amazing and his staff and team did follow up every year if he was in the uk or america i would see them again i had just one conversation with that rn nurse in the 25 years i have been in canada it was the point she said that its my fault that i missed her 7 year back dated appointment i walked it to a option in new york city and explained to them my situation they understood you see a family that has gone blind or a family tree that has that genetic marking knows more a nurse that saw you for 45 mintutes in 2007 at age ten a person ask me would you rather be deaf or blind i said deaf so in closing i would not see any specialist in canada for my eye problem at all read more

I had eye surgery at this clinic and it's the worst medical-eye experience I've EVER had. The doctors are always particularly rushed and just say WHATEVER to please you. I went in to have surgery for Kerataconus and to check if I could get PRK surgery done. I was told that I was obviously not a good candidate for PRK. So I get my surgery for Kerataconus and get my check-ups and I consistently askt them why I can't get clear vision with my left eye and get no straight answer...excpet that it can take up to a year to properly heal. On top of that, the doctor (Dr. Cheskes) starts recommending I get PRK (obviously without looking at my charts or referring to anything because if he would know I'm not a good candidate) . I hate how they're always trying to up-sell you, at the expense of your health. Please before you recommend a surgery to me, that only 3 weeks before you said I SHOULD NEVER GET, READ MY CHARTS. On top of that, I'm trying to schedule my 1-year check-up and haven't been able to get a hold of anybody at the clinic and do not receive phone calls back since I'm always forced to leave a voicemail since they're never answering the phones. I really don't like the vibe I get from the doctors (my experience is with Dr. Cheskes). It really is about the money for the "Bochner Eye Institute" (gotta love the name..It's a clinic, a business. My experience, especially considering I paid $4,400, has been extremely frustrating. When I originally signed up through my eye doctor, everything went smoothly. Calls were returned, follow-up calls happened, everything was great. Surgery itself went smoothly and I was very happy with, and recommended, Bochner to colleagues. Since then things have gone way downhill. My left eye was at 0.25, which I'm ok with, but right eye was still at 1.00. The discrepancy is noticeable in day-to-day life. The eye doctor tried for two years to convince me that I should be happy since this would delay my need for reading glasses. I countered by saying this is what I paid $4,400 for; why would it be a concern in the after-care process, and not before? Ton of roadblocks were placed in front of me, and while I recognize this was not Bochner, what happened next made me extremely suspicious. When my eye doctor finally booked me time with Bochner, I had to deal with the same level of foot dragging. First, after two years of consistent 0.25/1.00 diagnoses, Bochner said my eyes had miraculously improved to 0.25 and they wouldn't let me proceed. That was in the spring. They suggested I come back in six months. When I went earlier this month guess what? I was back to 0.25/1.00, so the doctor said I could get a follow-up. As I was leaving, the woman said the computer systems had shut down and that they would call me within a couple of weeks to schedule an appointment. Two weeks went by. Nothing. So I called. That is when I was given a booking in January. I thought I was finally done with this. Just now when I called asking to move, the lady told me I had only been slotted - in January, in other words three months in advance - for an "on-call" slot. So my appointment wasn't even confirmed. She said she had a note to call me the week beforehand to confirm I even had something. To summarize, this has been a three-year ordeal. First year leading up to it was great. Holding Bochner accountable for it however has been atrocious. Lack of follow-up, lack of attention to detail, lack of communication, you name it. If you're confident they can get it right the first time, Bochner is for you. Otherwise, stay the hell away. read more

Dr. Stein and his staff were excellent. My surgery in Dec. 2017 for cataracts and severe astigmatism correction went very well. Dr Stein was so encouraging and kind. I had no pain during or after the surgeries and I am now glasses free except on rare occasions when print is extremely small, at which time I will use dollar store glasses. I don't recommend this clinic. The Doctors are old and really don't care about you if there are any complications. It's possible that they may sell the place and when that happens, your lifetime guarantee is null and void. read more
