The server was sweet but the margaritas were weak and the sesame chicken was over cooked. Reminded me why we had only been here once before.

I eat at Beijing about once a week, always request nick as our server. Was in there today for early dinner and sat with him in the bar area. This used to be one my favorite places to eat. Since the closing of the other two locations in Augusta and Wichita the quality and service have plummeted at this location. Today we made a stop here as a special lunch to celebrate our vacation. It started out relatively ok. Got seated right away and out drink order placed. Things went wrong after that. My wife asked for steamed rice and we ordered egg rolls to go along with our lunch specials. The blonde waitress did not send out our egg rolls and gave my wife fried rice instead. This all would've been relatively ok if as we thought she just forgot to put the egg rolls in. Unfortunately they showed on the check. Then as we calmly explained that we did not get the egg rolls. She tried to state that a plate she had picked up off a neighboring table had the sauce for the order on them. She picked up exactly three dishes from our table at that point(2 soup dishes and my dinner plate). Needless to say we don't appreciate being accused of lying. We will not be back for another round of this abuse. read more

Typical chinese restaurant. The food is good. The service is ok. There are new dishes on the remodeled menu as well as all the favorites. The restaurant was recently remodeled. Still a dim lite environment, as well as very nice setting. The bar area was remodeled as well. Which is now more of a lounge setting. I had a really good steak at a Chinese Restaurant tonight. It was a 9 oz Fillet cooked exactly like I wanted it. When our party of five was nearly finished with our meal, the owner came over and asked how our meal was. I told him, "very good!" I told him I had the Fillet and he said, "all our steaks are Angus beef, hand cut in house and have aged for at least 21 days." Definitely a good quality piece of beef. Very tender, juicy, cooked medium rare. What more can you ask for from a small town in the middle of nowhere with no steak house. Oh, and everyone else at the table was very pleased with their meal and we all had something different. If you're trapped in this town on business, check out Beijing Bistro. While I have always liked the food the lack of covid precautions is frightening. Limited masks by staff. No social distancing. Advertises drive thru yet it is closed. Head in the sand behavior that will not slow the spread and may actually make it worse. read more

I've lived in a few different places - Houston, New Orleans, Odessa - but I always compare kung pao to Beijing's. Nothing will ever measure up. What is it? The lack of celery? The addition of cauliflower? I don't know...but the kung pao will always bring me back. read more

Never thought I'm gonna see a nice Chinese restaurant in this town, and moreover, never thought that the food in a western and Asian food in 1 was gonna be pretty good. But, I must say that the taste was OK and the portion generous. Full bar and dark, almost to the point of a strip club in the bar area. This place is a melting pot: steaks, pastas, clam chowder, standard American-Chinese entrees, or even sushi. Nicest sit-down restaurant in town. I like the ambiance in the bar area. The sushi is really pretty good, but still not as good as Dillon's grocery store sushi. The egg drop soup with crunchies is delicious, a must have to prep for your meal. General's chicken is below average. Spicy? The cook doesn't seem to understand the concept. I eat here pretty regularly, so if you're looking for good food in El Dorado, this is the best you'll do. read more

Fantastic selection and terrific prices. Their Chinese food is much better than average quality with HUGE portions. However I must admit that their sushi is top drawer. Creative, fresh and consistent. Now, here's the kicker, their steaks are PHENOMENAL. You'd never guess a Chinese restaurant, in ElDorado, Kansas would have quality beef and cooked to perfection but they do. I've had a rib-eye six different times and it came out perfectly medium rare with all the fat rendered. Since the restaurant is newly remodeled, its a nice atmosphere with a large bar area (with super comfortable chairs) and a quieter booth side. Both are clean and modern. Service is usually good (ask for Chim, and you will get excellent, enthusiastic service). read more

This place put itself on my "won't be back" list, takes a few bad visits to get there but they managed! They do have a few stand out, excellent staff and I'm sad they're dragged down by this place. Twice in a row I was given my entree on a cold plate, couple that with luke warm food and nice AC and my food is stone cold by the time I'm only half way through dinner. First time I sent it back, was brought back on another cold plate, the second time (different visit, same issue) my food was already cold so I sent it back and refused a replacement. Some food in the past was pretty good but cold fried rice makes me sick and I won't stand for that. read more

This is one of those Chinese restaurants that I compare to the ones I ate as a kid in Houston, Dallas, East and West coast. The atmosphere is great a long with the east Wichita and Augusta locations. I have brought visitors from larger cities and they were impressed with the quality. Outstanding Chinese food. I have tried many of the Chinese dishes and all were excellent.
