Teriyaki chicken. Dry, no thick brown sauce, just loose tan sauce.

I haven't eaten here since the manager and chef changed in the past several years. I was feeling both nostalgic and worried if the flavor would remain the same. I ordered the teriyaki chicken with vegetables, since I loved the thick savory sauce of the teriyaki chicken that ah so usually serves. I was immensely disappointed when the sauce was watery and the chicken dry. The original was flash fried to keep in moisture and give the outside a slight crisp. This one seems simply reheated as it is the same dry chicken used in sweet and sour chicken, then wetted with the loose kind of brown sauce. The vegetables are the same, but the rice tasted too sweet, likely due to wrong proportions. The mandu has the same crunch, but is overshadowed by the increase of salt like the rest of the dish.

This place is amaging! I first started going here 20 years ago as a kid with my dad and recently went back on a trip home. Its like this place never changed, still serving the same 5 star meals! By this point i have tried most of the menu and every one remarkable. I do have some favorites though: chefs special fried rice, Mongolian beef, and the Triple Crown. I did try s new one on the most recient trip back here and was pleastantly suprised. It was the Genghis Kahn w/ vegetables, this was a nice thin sliced steak seared with fresh julienned vegetables and white fried rice. The real hidden jem is the two Mandu that comes with all the dinners. This place is a little hidden store front in the middle of a strip center off the beaten path. If your ever in Wichita and love asian food, this is a must drive to destination for a quick dinner.

Hands down, best Chinese in Wichita! Been coming here for 14 years. Yes, fourteen. That's no typo. My son is 13 and I came here almost daily throughout my pregnancy with him. Still amazing!!! My staple is chicken soft noodle, extra sauce with Mandu and crab Rangoon! The husband loves the chefs special fried rice. Include whole shrimp!! Service is also top notch and it is a true Jem! Small but mighty; located in a strip mall next to a laundry mat and liquor store. Stop reading and go get Chinese!!!

Black bean noodles with pork. It was so-so

Food (2/5): I ordered their black bean noodles with pork. The noodles were too thick for my liking. The black bean sauce was extremely greasy. This dish was lacking in flavor. Although I specifically asked for pork, I did not see many chunks in my noodles. I probably ate like 30% of everything. Atmosphere (3/5): It's a small place but very clean. Many people come here for takeouts but there's definitely room here to dine in. It's bright inside and although small, there's plenty of breathing space. Service (5/5): The ladies were very nice to me. One of the workers asked if I was Vietnamese. I said yes and she proceeded to speak to me in Vietnamese. I'm not sure if they give everyone an egg roll and a crab Rangoon with every meal but I got them and it made me feel special. Overall (3/5): I did not like the black bean noodles but I'm willing to try out other stuff on their menu if I'm nearby. Will I make a special trip there? Probably not.

The best Asian food in Wichita! The owners have fed me for the last 30 years! The atmosphere is considered "dive-ish", but it is well made up by the delicious food served there. I have not had anything that I have disliked. My ultimate fave dish: pepper steak. The owner has owned this place for over 33 years and she has been there everyday and has been the chef, so there's your consistency there. Wichita, KS is not where I would automatically think about having a diverse array of culinary delights, but this place is one of its hidden treasures!

Kung Pao Chicken, Egg Drop Soup and a Soda

I had taken a piece of Jewelry in for repair and spotted this Restaurant about 6 doors away and decided to try it. I had never been there before and didn't realize that this was actually a Korean style restaurant. The frontage is quite small and I was pleasantly surprised when I stepped inside and there was a seating area to eat. There were 5 tables that could seat 2 people and 4 tables that could accommodate 4 people. Once the tables started filling up though, I found it a little claustrophobic!! I went to the counter and looked at their menu. A grumpy looking young lady took my order. I picked the Kung Pao Chicken which came with 2 'Mandu' (not sure what they were) and I added an Egg Drop Soup and a Soda. It came to $10.22. She asked me if it was 'for here or to go' and i was staying (waiting for the jewelry repair). When I presented my Debit Card -- she asked 'do you want to add a Tip to this?'. I checked my pockets and had a couple of dollars, so I said no. I went and sat in the corner, by the window. I wanted to look outside and see what was in the vicinity while waiting. The same young lady brought a bowl of Soup topped with Black Pepper and my Soda. Within 10 minutes my Entree arrived. It was a large portion and since the menu did not describe what was in the Kung Pao, I was pleasantly surprised to see veggies. And the presentation was lovely with the sprinkling of chopped Peanuts across the top. 'Mandu' turned out to be a type of fried Wonton. My problem was that the food was extremely bland. Kung Pao is supposed to be 'Hot and Spicy' and it wasn't. The Cook did not appear to use any seasoning -- no Salt, no Pepper, no Garlic. My table didn't have any Sriracha Sauce or Sweet and Sour Sauce that some of the other tables had. The surrounding tables had filled in and I found myself kind of boxed into the corner. I was tempted to ask the Ladies at the next table, but they were discussing some very personal Medical problems and I didn't want to interrupt. So when one of the Ladies went to the counter to ask for something -- I jumped up and followed her there. I asked for a 'To Go' box and figured that I could take it home and add some Sriracha and Seasoning to it and then reheat it.

    Incredible Sukiyaki!

This has been a favorite hole in the wall of mine for over 25 years. Ah-So is the only Korean restaurant I've found that offers Sukiyaki which is my #1 dish I order each time I visit with their flavorful pork for the meat choice. If you haven't tried this place I highly recommend you get in soon!

This place is FIRE!!! If you are reading this and you are very hungry; eat here now!…read more To all my peoples in Wichita -- Let me help deconstruct the matter so it makes a little bit more sense. So as most of you know, Korean BBQ has been trending all over the world and it's been a fanfare for many years now. And for those of you who are unfamiliar with KBBQ and AYCE -- these acronyms stand for Korean BBQ and All You Can Eat. Disclaimer: you will smell like charcoal smoke so be advised not to wear your Balenciaga cashmere sweater! Haha, next, in the world of KBBQ, we grill our own food so it's hot off the press and fresh in your tummy. Secondly, hot pot is known in Japanese culture as Shabu Shabu -- meaning, Ghengis Khan used to cook live cattle meat with veggies in a ginormous wok, so he can feed all of his soldiers during their Mongolian conquest when it was freezing cold out. So put 1 + 1 together (KBBQ + HOT POT) and you get this beautiful hybridization known as KPOT. This concept is trending all over California because for one; when you have a ravenous appetite, this place will suffice and two; during a freezing cold February stretch, KPOT will warm you up just like it did Ghengis Khan and all of his soldiers during the harsh Siberian winters. I come from a place called Koreatown Los Angeles, where we take Korean BBQ to new heights each and every year. And let me tell all of you Wichitans something; you have no clue how good this restaurant is on a metric of good to greatest from California to New York. You guys have a 5% Asian population here and yet, you have restaurants like KPOT, KyuRamen and Kimchi. How spoiled you are here in Kansas! Wichita is so beautiful BTW and your food and beef quality is superb. Thank you Kansas! You fed me so well during my stay. I leave for Cali in the morning. Going going back back to... you know the rest :)

We were informed it was a BBQ/Hot pot establishment, but had the option on choosing one of the two options. My group requested just BBQ and we were given an iPad to order. I did not see appetizers besides white rice and asked our server if there were appetizers. Our server mumbled a response, which I believed was only hotpot was given appetizers. After some time, I walked over to the hotpot area, but people having just BBQ were also eating the appetizers as well. I asked our server again and was given an annoyed face with a "yes." The lack of communication was one thing, but the rudeness was off-putting and ruined the vibe. The meat quality and other food options were fine, but that doesn't help the dine in experience if the staff doesn't care; don't want to visit this place again.

We came in as a party of five at 8:30pm, fully aware they close at 9. We ordered quickly and respectfully, excited to enjoy one of my favorite dishes: the chicken katsu. I've raved about it to friends, especially the generous portions--normally two large, pounded-out chicken breasts per order. But tonight was a different story. We ordered a bibimbap, 10 wings, a roll, gyoza, a child's katsu, tempura and two chicken katsu meals (close to $20 each). For our katsus instead of full portions, it was obvious the kitchen split one order between both plates--then handed the scraps to the child's meal, which we were told would be "half" an adult size. It wasn't even close. Not only was the portion insulting, but the food wasn't fresh. The chicken was dry, overcooked, and hard as a rock. I couldn't even bite through one piece--I had to spit it out. When we brought it up, they offered 10% off. Honestly, that felt like a slap in the face. I had just convinced people to come here based on how good this meal used to be, and instead I ended up apologizing to my guests for bringing them here and still paid for meals we weren't fully served. If you were low on chicken, in a rush to close, or just had a lazy cook that night--own it. Don't try to pass off a single meal as two. That's not just disappointing--it's dishonest. This experience was a joke. And if that's how regulars get treated, I will regular no more.

The sushi was wrapped really loosely and fell apart while I picked it up with chopsticks. My husband's beef teriyaki was good and he had no qualms on the flavor but again presentation was a little messy. Service was good. They refilled our waters and soda without issue. The food came out sporadically and was not sent out together, which left my husband waiting to eat while my food got cold (crispy rice) and then warm (sushi), respectively. Ambiance was dark and moody. Like hard to see dark; there was not enough light from the tiny candle on the table to make up for it. I get the vibe but I would opt for more light overall. The decorations on the walls were tasteful. The overhead lighting felt like they raided the outdoor patio light section of Lowe's when it was clearance in the seasonal garden section. The Tiber on the walls was nice but again felt a bit DIY. My biggest issue was with the tableware. I understand that disposable chopsticks are easier than reusable ones but honestly it would have elevated the meal a lot for me. I know it's picky but for the vibe and location it seems like it would have been an easy add.

I'm also hugely protective of the cuisine itself and hate how it's been gentrified in recent years so I tend to be pretty critical and admittedly pretentious when it comes to trying out Korean restaurants so I hold them to a higher standard than other types of cuisines. That being said. I was absolutely blown away. This felt like the warmest of hugs from your Korean halmeoni adjacent. I know the current owner took over from the previous owners who were Korean and had owned the restaurant for decades and while I never got to try the restaurant under their ownership I am confident he is doing their legacy justice. The inside is adorable, quaint and clean with the decor itself being charming and thoughtful. Instead of wallpaper pictures of customers over several decades cover the walls floor to ceiling. The menu is the epitome of mostly Korean home cooking and some more familiar take out Chinese dishes. Be patient as it appears to be pretty much run by two people-- one at the counter and one at the kitchen but the wait is worth it. Yaki mandu - made from frozen but honestly, tasty Gimbap - the classic flavors that you look for are all there. This one has bulgogi in it and the danmuji is quite prominent. If you're looking for this to taste like sushi-- it will not taste like sushi. Korean gimbap has its only unique flavor and you'll definitely pick up more sesame flavoring. Kimchi - I fully believe kimchi is a personal taste. There are over 100 kinds and in every Korean home it will taste different. This was for me personally a 7/10. A hair on the salty side for me but the fermentation and spice on it was nice. Extremely generous amount for take out. The mains is where Manna Wok truly shined for me. Everything was so unbelievably authentic, I would never have believed that a non Korean born individual was responsible for making the food if I didn't see it with my own eyes. The care and attention to detail was unmatched. Pork bulgogi - (hot) my husband enjoyed it. This unassuming dish was soft, savory, and sweet and the vegetables were tender but not mushy. Would not have changed a thing. Perfectly authentic and served with rice. Japchae - seasoned perfectly in my opinion. It was a little more garlic heavy than other recipes I've had before but honestly the more garlic the merrier for my personal taste. Noodles had the perfect familiar japchae chewy texture. If you know, you know. Tteokbokki - (very hot) Now listen. This was extremely good, you can find this basically on the shelves now in any Asian grocery store but there's just something about this dish made from scratch. Very hot was pretty much just normal spice for the average Korean. The sauce was thick and savory with a hint of sweet. And also it came with beef? That's actually not traditional so I felt like I was committing robbery by just automatically getting it with a protein so score! Kimchi fried rice - first off, holy portions. It automatically comes with a fried egg so I added a fried egg on accident so woops guess I know that for next time. It had beef also and I appreciated how the kimchi itself was left in pieces that you could see. Made it pleasing to the eye and gave a nice texture. There was a nice glisten to the rice but it was not greasy and the kimchi gave the rice a subtle tangy flavor. Just so so good and stick to your ribs savory. There was not one miss amongst the mains. Portions were in my opinion overly generous for the prices which feel very much pre pandemic, pre inflation, pre before Korean food became trendy to me. I am just floored this place does not have a constant line out the door. For my fellow Koreans, this place is legit. For those looking to try authentic Korean food but don't know where to begin, look no further. If you're brand new to Korean food you cannot go wrong with beef or pork bulgogi, bibimbap (get it hot stone for a special treat), or if you don't mind chewy textures japchae!

B/c it's a bit time consuming to make, a lot of Korean restaurants, esp ones that don't specialize in this dish, might make it from a package. I do the same, but since Grace Market has new ownership, I've been hard pressed to find my noodles. A friend told me about KC, so I gave it a shot. It's a tiny grocery store run by one little woman. She was very helpful and helped me quickly find my noodles along with a few other items (they sell mentaiko)! I think the prices were fair enough, and the place itself was clean. I'm pretty upset that I didn't find this place earlier, though. Apparently, she used to make naengmyeon FROM SCRATCH and served it at her store. I've already told you how frickin' difficult that is to find....and in the Midwest? Forget it! She made other items too in her little kitchen in the back...or used to. Apparently, a customer saw that she was cooking in her store and reported her to the fire department. She was not to code (no hood or something like that), so they told her that til she modified things, she was not allowed to cook there. Of course, she does not have the money to do so, so that's that. To the concerned citizen: Hi, lovely not to have met you. I imagine you're one of those follow-the-rules-off-the-cliff types. Nothing wrong with that. The world needs ppl like you to keep it in line. However, you came between me and my noodles. Now I'm back to instant, packaged B grade stuff. *Sigh*
