Well guys I just started work here so I'm a bit biased no lie, but this is the place to go on any given night if you're looking for authentic arab nightlife and dining. The food is excellent. I've tasted it first hand out of the kitchen. All the chefs are arab so you are getting the real deal. All the waitresses myself included do their absolute best to make the night as comfortable and enjoyable as possible for you and the hookah is the best there is. On Saturday nights the place is a PARTY. Dancers and singers galore with every seat packed and every person on the dancefloor. Come see for yourself. My friends and I go out once a week or so to local restaurants, try to enjoy the different cultures in the area. So one of my friends recommended Beirut, and they swore that it was the best place. So the 5 of us went. It was a Wednesday night, so we expected it not to be to busy so that we could enjoy the meal. It was a very nice atmosphere, very diligent waitress who was excellent. We ordered the main appetizers first, some hummus, spinach pies, salad, kibbah balls, etc, it was amazing. Like I said we have been to many places in the area but this was different, the flavors were like nothing else. Unfortunately all of that stopped when the main entrees came, we all ordered similar plates of different mixes of chicken, lamb, and beef, and 3 of the 4 plates had burnt meat.... really disappointing for $20 a plate. We would have ordered new plates, but by that time it was 8:30pm and we all had to leave soon. Somehow one of our friends convinced us all to get dessert, and thank god she did. The dessert saved the day, I've had middle eastern deserts, but wow this was just heaven. Just enough crunch, not too sweet, just perfect. Wonderful I want to believe this place has good food, because it seemed busy and people were having a good time. But for my table, our main meal wasn't edible, 1 or 2 things being burnt is ok, but 3 main plates is not ok. I will be back, with my friends because I want to try the hookah and more of the appetizers next time. On Friday and Saturday nights, the restaurant has live singers performing, open dance floor and a set of appetizers, entrees, drinks as part of the cover charge. I believe the cover charge is 55 for everything stated above, this excludes tax, tip and hookah (if you would like), it's also a BYOB. I went on a Saturday night, the restaurant was FULL. There was no walking space at all, every time I had to get up from my chair, I had to move the table onto the opposite side, where my friends were sitting across from me. If one of the party wanted to get in, we had to push the table up against other guests sitting next to us. Since I've never been there on such a busy night, I don't know if that is how the design of the tables have always been, or the owner over booked. Either case, it sucked, there was no breathing space (1/5) ! Dressed up in heels and dress made it so much more difficult to move around. I had to cross the dance floor every time I wanted to go to the bathroom because there was no room to move unless you want excuse yourself the whole way there and have guests move there chair in, just very inconvenient and uncomfortable. The dance floor was small, but given the amount of guests that were there, it handled the crowd pretty well. You did bump into a few people, but it's a dance floor...it was fine. Service was fine, I give it 3/5 stars. It would've gotten 5/5, if the waiter was available when we needed our coals changed on our hookah or water when we were all extremely thirsty. Our waiter was just hard to get a hold of. Every time I asked random waiters how much the hookah was, they had no answer, none of them (3 waiters in total) had the answer. They had to go into the kitchen and ask. Overall, the staff were nice, just not the best in promptness and knowledge. The food gets 4/5. My friends and I, loved almost everything. The entrees were amazing, the meat was amazingly cooked and seasoned, the rice complimented the grilled chicken and kofta perfectly. The appetizers however, were a little weird. The hummus and baba ganouj were really yummy, I don't think any of us could've gotten enough, however there were some really weird appetizers, that no one in the table really liked. Specifically it was this egg plant sauce and sausages, they weren't exactly delightful to eat. The appetizers are all served, then cleaned off the table and then the entrees were served. Things started getting served at like 11:30ish and picked up around like 2ish (am). Their hookah was fine. Performances were ok, it was three male singers. Couldn't really tell the difference between them, so it wasn't that special having three different singers, they could've stayed at one and it would've made the same difference. However, their performances were really nice. They sang different variety of songs, Egyptian, Lebanese, Syrian, Palestinian, it was fun. When the singers needed a break, English's dm Spanish songs were put on, and that was fun. I was able to get in with 50 dollars for each person in my 20 people party. At the end, only 16 people showed up. I was extremely annoyed with my waiter, who came and asked me how many people ended up coming and I told him 16! At the end of the night, I got charged for 20, when I asked the waiter, he told me he counted 20 people !!!!!!! So, when we both went up to the manager, he tells the manager he counted 18 (after arguing with me about counting 20) and the manager turns around to me and tells me he counted 16 (the manager was at least honest). That part really annoyed me, because when you're dealing with a big bill like that.... I don't also want to deal with petty lies. The manager charged me for 2 seats that didn't show up, at 35 dollars. I understand that he wanted to make money off the lost seats, but since from the beginning of the night, they knew I had four cancellations, I was confused. Excellent Lebanese food and hookah! Great atmosphere, extremely friendly and attentive staff and its BYOB! We went on a Friday night in remembrance of one of my very close coworkers and had a table reserved in the middle of the room rite in front of the dj booth which was nice. We started off by ordering two hookahs for the table in the flavor that George loved. Once the hookah came we ordered appetizers for the table, we ordered two orders of hummus with meat that was amazing and creamy and the meat had such a great flavor, one fattoush salad, a tabouli salad, kibbeh nayeh which is raw meat (almost like a tar-tar) served with raw onion and mint on top, cheese and meat arayas which are like a quesadilla but Lebanese. We also ordered so much more that I honestly don't know what its called or what it was other than it being amazing. We ordered the kabob sampler which came with grilled filet migon, chicken, and lamb pieces it was delicious. The grilled shrimp are by far my absolute favorite thing on the menu its so simple but so delicious. I highly suggest to everyone who enjoys Lebanese Cuisine to come and try this place out you will NOT be disappointed. read more

I've been coming here for years and ever since the new management, the place is going downhill. The only reason I even gave it two stars is for the hookah and servers. The managers have no knowledge of their best customers and show very little respect to outside cultures visiting the restaurant. Food was good but the atmosphere sucked. Hooka inside is a bad idea. Plus people were also smoking cigarettes. They had a party going on and music so loud you have to yell at your waitress. In LOVE with this place, for a lot of different reasons. I have been here a handful of times for dinner and now two times for their Saturday night shows. Let me tell you, they are amazing!! I have been to several Arab countries, and this is what they do. Eat dinner, smoke hookah, and have live entertainment. The singers are phenomenal and only Arabic is spoken. Who needs to actually understand what they are saying when the energy in the room is insane. Everyone is friendly and surrounded by all of their friends, and just wanting to dance, smoke, and eat great food. If I could be overly critical, I would say I wasn't that impressed with the mezza. I thought there would be a lot more/different variety. That certainly won't change my opinions on this wonderful place, wallah! read more

Went here with a group of about 10 mid week for dinner. Everything was amazing. Apps - fattush salad, couple of sausage dishes, boureg, (cheese pie), and the sautéed liver. I normally don't eat liver, and even that was good. Main course - assortment of kebabs. Chicken was very tender, shish was perfectly seasoned. This is going to sound weird at a Lebanese restaurant, but the fries were addictive. Dessert - mixed plate of baklava type sweets. Could have finished the platter myself. And let's not forget the hooka. Can't go wrong here. Perfect way to cap off the meal. One thing to keep in mind is the place is BYOB. I think some people dropped a star because of this, but I actually prefer it. As long as you're prepared, you get to drink what you want, without the standard restaurant markup. The place is a little out of the way for me coming from NY, but was well worth it. Can't wait too back on a Saturday night and catch the entertainment. read more

Went there this past weekend and everything was just OK from the service, too food, to the table which was right near the door. The food did come quickly, however it was just OK. I don't like when pita is served cold and twice it came to the table and was not warm. The salad also had alot of seasoning on the lettuce. This place yes, has good hookah but the food honestly isn't all that, I ordered the mixed grill with rice, fatoush, labneh,fried calamari,hummus and 2 hookahs. Where do I start, we went to try this place last Saturday night and boy what a disaster, the place is tiny,tables and chairs are cramped together, the food was salty,the entertainment was so so the first singer was better than the second singer and be very careful when the bill arrives because they will do a bait and switch on you and they will charge you a higher price than what they quoted you over the phone. Patrons of all ages specially the ones in their 40s and 50s we're standing on the chairs and the tables and we're making a whistling noises and A lot of loud noises. Not sure where to start but it started when they didn't have our reservation and then 50 mins later they got us a table and then 10 mins later they pulled me over to the side and told me that we are so sorry but we have to move you to another table which was way far from the dance floor and apparently that area is not served the same way as the other room. Fine, we move and we asked the waitress where is our food it's been two hours and she replied back the food is served in sections so we said ok one more hour passes by and we ask again and they said this section is next 40 mins later they started serving desert and we asked again where is our food and the manager had the guts to say it is on the grill specially made for you. I was prepared not to like this place when they squeezed us in by seating us in the parking lot that is adjacent to the restaurant, but was totally won over by their amazing food, awesome ambience, friendly staff (even tho we had to keep reminding him of things he'd forgotten to bring), and even affordable! Went for hookah and apps. There was a lovely outdoor patio and large indoor dining room. You can smoke in both areas, so don't come if you're weary of second hand smoke. The waitstaff was warm and friendly, quick to help is decide among all their fabulous-sounding platters. The falafel was amazing--flavorful and fried so well. The muhammara (walnut & pepper dip) and labnah (yogurt dip) were good too. The hookah was awesome. My family and I love this place and we are a regular. The food is amazing but I found a hair in my food that made me loose my appetite. The manager got me a new dish but by that time I didn't want to eat anything. He never made changes in my bill as a courteous offer. This threw me off and made me think if I want to visit again. Because my family and I visit Beirut at least 4 times a month. But guess what so remember I said the manager got me a replacement falafel i couldn't eat it there so I asked for it to go. Went there with a friend two nights ago. Ordered 3 appetizers. We got two and the waiter disappeared! After about half an hour, we able to get his attention. When asked about the third appetizer, he told us they did not have it! We wanted to order two sandwiches, which he assured us that they we were available. After another 15 minutes of waiting, a waitress told us that they don't serve sandwiches at night!! Go figure! read more

I'm not one to write reviews online about restaurants, but I made an account solely to warn people about this place and share my experience. I was in love with this place for months, and I came here almost 15-20 times. I have introduced the place to all of my friends and family. Each time that I come I order tea, hookah, food and dessert. I love the food and the entertainment aspect. However, what Beirut lacks is a sense of appreciation for returning customers. Lately, Beirut has implemented a "$10 cover charge" for guys on Friday nights. Walking in to the restaurant, the guy rudely explained that there was a new cover charge that was put into effect. Coming here on an almost weekly basis and spending A LOT OF MONEY, I was a little disappointed at this change, and ,more importantly, at the way that I was treated. Rather than appreciating the fact that I was a returning customer or someone who has brought in a wide range of new customers, the owner's son indifferently told my friends and me to "take it or leave it." Now this has nothing to do with the money - THIS IS JUST PLAIN RIDICULOUS. Honestly, if there is no appreciation for a customer who has come in 15-20 times then I really don't know what to say. This is not a place where you will feel welcome at all. The owners appear to be very money-oriented - focusing only on how to make the most amount of money PERIOD. Hospitality is not something in their dictionary. I'm not the only person who feel this way either because I have heard several similar complains about this problem from friends and family. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A PLACE WHERE YOU WILL FEEL WELCOMED. Don't waste your time. Go to Laziza a few blocks down - great service, great food, great music, and the OWNERS ACTUALLY RESPECT THE CUSTOMERS AND YOU FEEL WELCOMED. But this place is ridiculous. read more

The design and atmosphere was perfect for a hookah bar. It is BYOB and it does have outdoor seating. I think they also have a karaoke night too with the stage and tvs in the front. Of course with a hookah bar, beware of the $10 dollar cover per person, even if you will not be smoking hookah. Even though they do not charge you at the door, they will charge you when you have to pay for the bill. Like the other reviews, the service is quite slow and unorganized. We somehow had two waiters taking orders for us(group of 8) at two different times during the night and they did forget one of our orders as well as bringing us an extra drink that we did not order. On the other hand, the food was amazing. I will say that the menu was eclectic with chicken wings, french fries, calamari, hummus, falafel, tabouleh, frog legs, etc. Of course, the hookah was amazing!
