Good food. Everything we had was good. Hummus, foul, kufta, felafels, all tasty. I thought the hummus was one of the best I've had. Service was pretty spotty. The waiter seemed marginally interested took a very long time to come back with the Arabic coffee I ordered. My wife asked for water he brought a warm bottle (others at the table who joined us a short while later got cold water) . Brought bread and hummus but never asked for our order until we told him we were ready to order. We must have been the first customers of the day, because it took the kitchen a long time to send out the orders, but picked up steam after a while. Also a bit on the pricey side if you ask me. And they automatically add an 18% tip to every order, not just large groups (there were only four of us). That would explain the spotty service read more

When I find myself in Paterson on rare occasions Beirut is one of the few places I do go to. I often come for the hookah which is great. And I've eaten here also. The food portions are well worth the price. They don't skimp on the meat...a big plus!! I often get the mixed grill, which gives you different options if you can't really decide or I just have the chicken with sides of rice or salad. This place is also B.Y.O.B. I come here regularly with friends for dinner and some hookah. For the most part the hookah and food are fairly good. The food sometimes may be inconsistent not sure if they have different chefs, but not too much to complain about. The one thing that has been a very consistent issue and continues to be EVERY time is the staff that takes your order - it's usually 1 of the 2 females that take the food orders... they DO NOT write down orders and ALWAYS either forget an item sometimes several or put in the wrong order. It is beyond frustrating and can easily be prevented if they simply write it down!!! read more

The meat and mixed grill was really good, everything else we ordered was not not amazing , especially for a Lebanese restaurant. The waitress was really sweet. So I tipped her well , but after leaving I realized they added 18% to the bill already ?! I thought that was a bit much because we were a VERY small group . Oh well. Great place to smoke Hookah, and have some decent food. Best time to go is at night to eat and smoke outdoors. Sometimes the waiters don't exactly understand what you're trying to say but was a little bit of patience and repetition they eventually get it right. All in all, I definitely would come back again. Based on the reviews, I went here for the first time. If you have a reservation, you get to sit in the back by the stage area. If you don't have a reservation, you sit in the front. We were seated with menus and a waitress shortly followed. I was told there was a minimum $10 per person and hookah doesn't count towards it. We had hummus and falafel to start. The bread is delicious. I wasn't a fan of their hummus. For dinner, we had the Beirut mixed grill which is good but the lamb wasn't tender. I also tried the lemonade with mint which is good. We had 2 hookahs. Watermelon mint and orange lemonade mint. Seems like anything with mint are their only flavors. The watermelon mint was strong. It had me lightheaded. The orange lemonade mint was smooth. Their hookah menu doesn't have much flavors or type of bowls. Nonetheless I had a good time and will try it out again some time in the future. read more

The best part of Beirut is that you're among family. The owner is very hospitable and quick to accommodate to any requests. It's a great spot for large groups. All of the food is authentic and savory. I tried just about everything and it was all delicious! The chicken chops are definitely my favorite, SO tasty! The labneh is one of the best I've tasted in my entire life, and I actually live in Beirut (the country). So I have never heard of this place until I was recently invited out for dinner here. I grew up eating middle eastern food so I know what everything should taste like, or I thought. I wanted to make a review about this place. It is a wonderful place with a horrendous service. I was waiting like 30 min to make my order and other 30 to receive my apps. The blond Turkish girl that had a terrible English and could not even understand my order. At the end, she literally throwed the food and disappear. I was not even able to tell her that my order was wrong, and that I wanted to add some drinks. Then the slush lemonades came when we finished our apps and, the blond girl that took it to us was rude with us. Also, it was leaking and had a horrible presentation. I went to other Arabic restaurants like Yasmeen, and their slush was with lemon and mint on the top and in a glass not a plastic container like here. On the other hand, the place is awesome: it is clean, and the food is delicious. I was able to notice that there many people walking around me trying to pick up the plates which was overwhelming. I needed some extra slushes, and when I tried to ask some of the boys going around (since the waitress did not ever come back not even to ask if we needed something), he was more lost than me in the place. Moreover, the dessert platter and the hookah were good, but same, it came too late. I think this place has room for improvement, but it needs more servers that can do the drinks or desserts faster. As a customer I need someone that can do things fast and well to take care of me, instead of picking up my plates. I feel they wanted me to just go out. How do they want me to go if the food, drinks, and dessert came late? If service would be good and on time, I would be able to enjoy and leave with a remarkable impression. Tried the hookah, chicken kebabs and lamb chops. All of it was really good. The lamb and chicken were well cooked and not chewy at all. Other good thing about the place is BYOB so you sit outside in open, drink your own booze, get a hookah. Perfect. They in fact placed all of our beer bottles in an ice bucket so that they stay chilled till the end. Spent some 3hours there and it's a good place to just chill out. read more

I have been to this place with a die hard friend of mine. This is one of the most decent Hookah bars i've been to. I'm comparing ones in Manhattan and Queens. This is definitely preferred. Being raised by a lebanese mother and Syrian father, this food is very close to my heart. With that being said, this food is as authentic has it comes. We ordered the tabouleh which was lemony and delicious as well as the creamy hummus. Both were spot on and great. For my entree I had the Beirut mixed grill with filet, chicken breast cubes and ground beef and it was spectacular. This is a must try. The hookah selection is also the greatest I've seen. I had such a bad experience here, I was told we close at 12am me and my girlfriend walked thru the door at 11:00pm. The kitchen was closed we said fine all we want is hooka. 5 minutes after we sat down and ordered 1 hooka the same person that welcomed us said sorry guys we have to close the bill. We explained we haven't even enjoyed the hooka. He rudely rushed us and made the experience horrible. I will be going to the places near by. This restaurant was recommended by many of my peers. Once my wife and my friend entered the premises we were asked if we had reservations. We did not and with an attitude the hostes said "WAIT" and walked away. After 10 minutes of standing in a restaurant with no answer and a place that has over 50 empty tables and 2 customers eating we decided to go and spend our money somewhere else. I felt discriminated and not valued. As a Clifton resident I will not support this local business if it was the last Lebanese place to eat. Beirut is a very authentic place... to the point that service will be terrible if you aren't middle eastern. I've experienced the difference while dining with my Latino friends versus my Arab friends.The food is great, the french fries are delicious (we always get multiple orders), shish tawook is yummmyyy, and the hookah is a plus.
