One time I picked up dinner and the staff (they are family) were arguing. Screaming at each other. Another time I ordered hummus. The young man stopped mopping and with soap suds on his hands he cashed me out and gave me my order. When I got home and open the carry out it had soap suds on one side of the hummus so I had to throw it away. The last time I visit at this restaurant there were many flies in the restaurant. Uncovered food in the kitchen and tge cook had a bucket of raw chicken on the floor that he was cooking from(dipped in bucket and put chicken on stove/grill).I was in the restaurant 25 minutes and that chicken NEVER LEFT THE FLOOR. I was staying at the Embassy Suites nearby and ordered from here through Yelp (powered by GrubHub) for delivery. It was lunchtime, and I had a meeting that started at 2pm. I should note that this review is rated 5 stars for the food-not the overall experience. Anyways, I ordered at 12:26pm and it didn't come until 1:45pm. So that really really sucked. However, the kid who dropped it off apologized and seemed sincere in his apology. So that was nice. Anyways-so I had 15 minutes to scarf this down before my meeting (really 10 minutes cause I had to be a little early to the meeting). I got the Greek salad and added chicken Schwarma and it was MASSIVE. The chicken came in a separate container and was a good size, but the takeout container for the salad was too small, because when I put the chicken on the salad, it spilled everywhere-overflowed. I managed to scarf down a third of it, and it was awesome. I ate the rest for dinner that night, along with the crushed lentil soup-also delicious. This is the first time ordering Beriut off their website. I am so disappointed. The clock kept moving on the delivery time using their app EATSTREET. I called to find out where my food was and I was answered with you had a delivery???SHOCKING. I am beyond pissed, I asked the guy what are you going to bring me cold food. He said I got you. After having given them a 2nd go of it, they're now a solid 3 star rating. The unupdated menu with the outdated prices is annoying if nothing else. This time around the mixed grill was only so so as a couple pcs of the meat was burnt, so def had a hard time justifying the $18.99 price. The salad was drenched with dressing although I asked for it on the side and the chicken was very greasy. they clearly hadn't cleaned the grill throughout the day. The food is consistently delicious: Fresh, flavorful and authentic. - Recently (due to COVID-19 restrictions), I placed a takeout order online via the Yelp app. The process was very smooth. I was given a 20 minute window for the food to be ready. I arrived at the restaurant at the earliest part of that timeframe and my order was ready to go. The meal was excellent. I ordered the lamb and hummus entree. No joke; there was enough food for 2 people. The hummus was tasty, smooth and creamy. The lamb was expertly seasoned and was thinly sliced/shredded and layered on top of the hummus. I selected rice as my side; and it was savory and served pilaf style with slivered almonds. This is my first time here. All the airline crew that I know rave about this place. When you first walk in, it's open seating. The waitress was the best. I absolutely loved her dry humor. I need to start by saying that we don't eat a lot of middle eastern food. In fact, I can't honestly say as if we've ever eaten at a middle eastern restaurant. But that certainly didn't stop us from wanting to try this place when we were staying down the street at the Crowne Plaza. We were there mid-afternoonish and the place was busy and that's always a good sign. There were sooooo many delicious-sounding items on the menu that it was REALLY hard to decide...but they had french fries with garlic sauce and I am a pushover for french fries, so that was actually a no-brainer. We didn't want a big meal so we opted for the Falafel appetizer and then we split a Mixed Schwarma sandwich. The falafel was decent, but it didn't blow my socks off (but I haven't had much of it in my life, so I really don't know how much my opinion of that means). The fries were hot and thick (although they were improved by a dash of salt) but the garlic sauce was divine. Definitely garlicky but (as we found out later) not the type of strong garlic that stays with you forever. And the mixed (beef and chicken) schwarma sandwich was...well...oh my. Soooo good. I was actually a little upset that we had decided to share a sandwich because I wanted to eat the whole thing myself. If you pick sandwiches and don't get appetizers, you can get out of here for under $10 a person. But I suggest you try lots of things, so you'll probably end up spending a bit more. The location was very close to the airport. The food was decent. I got a chicken shawarma & fries. The shawarma was average I've had better. The fries were fresh cut, hot and tasty with the garlic sauce. The owner needs to speak to his employees. They were very loud talking about each other being lazy. They were not attentive to the customers at all. I sat for 10-mins while they talked & did absolutely nothing. I watch a lady go to the counter to get her food because it was sitting there & nobody bought it to her table. The restaurant was not busy, only about 3-tables and at least 6-employees and I'm not sure how many were in the kitchen. There were plenty of employees standing around doing nothing. I was introduced to the place by a friend on a biz trip almost a year ago, and I have been coming back every time I come to town. Some of the best Lebanese food you will find. The atmosphere is Mom and Pop, which can provide for some interesting interactions when family business is being handled on the main floor ;) However, I tend to thrive on that kind of drama. I've been wanting to this place for a long time. Now I'm addicted to it. I love the "Kathy Special" it's not on the menu. It's an amazing salad with chicken, hummus, crunchy piece of pita in the salad and a side if soft pita bread. I love the fries, so yummy. I tried the lemon, chicken, rice soup. It was also great! Casual, pay at the counter environment. Pretty busy at 8pm on a Thursday night which is a good sign. Friendly staff and everything we ordered was extremely fresh and flavorful. Amazing little place close to the Detroit airport. I've eaten here three times now and have not been disappointed! It can get very crowded, fast, around lunch time. The service is only okay, I think, and the woman who usually runs the place, although friendly, can be a bit abrupt. Not a big deal, because the price is reasonable, the portions are large, the menu is rather extensive, and of course, it's delicious. Needed a shish kafta so decided to give them a try. At lunch greeted by half the tables with customers and the rest dirty. Was seated after a few minutes to a just cleaned table. Started with an order of the Falafel, which was delicious! There was something different about them...I think another person who left a review said it could be Nutmeg? Well, they did not disappoint. I ordered the Mixed Shwarma plate for an entree and I chose the Lentil soup, which was out of this world!!! The chicken and beef were tender and full of flavor! The garlic yogurt sauce that comes with the meat is heavenly and the rice was perfect! On top of the tasty food was the excellent service!
