This place was just a short walk from my hotel and was recommended by a friend. Service was fast, really friendly, and the food came through. Everything was really reasonable, fresh, and in really generous portions - the small salad portion is more than enough for leftovers for one person. Just got back from my first trip to Beirut Restaurant and my belly is full & happy. I went with a group of people all with varying dietary needs and Julianna (who is hilarious & so kind) took the time to talk to each of us about the foods we could try. I am a vegetarian and had the super falafel pita (side of toum, the garlic spread OMG!!) and a cup of crushed lentil soup, both of which are amazing! Everyone in my group loved their food and even though we were all stuffed we couldn't resist trying the desserts too! The baklava was so good! Delivery service is terrible. Dining in is fine. The food is always good. Fresh cut fries are always a plus. I'm not going to tip with my credit card in advance anymore. Sometimes my food is brought to my door. Sometimes it's just brought to the lobby. I don't feel that what I tip is worth me having to go to the lobby to pickup my order. I'll now adjust my tip accordingly with cash. What kinda bothered me today is, according to the menu, and when you order them in the restaurant, the fries come with a delicious garlic sauce. For the third delivery in a row, it hasn't been in the bag. It's a huge bummer that the garlic sauce is missing, but what irks me even more is the absence of ketchup to dip the fries in. Love this place ! Tucked away on the service drive of I-96 - very unassuming BUT don't let that fool you! Clean , staff friendly alway and the food is great! Stopped in with my husband based on reviews on here ordered the mix grill and upgrades to a fattosh salad. Had bread on the table when we sat down. I asked for garlic paste, the garlic was really really good. The salad was great, as always. The chicken was great, the kaftka was good. I had never had chicken kaftka but that was really good too. My favorite is usually the beef/steak, unfortunately it was the weakest thing on the plate. Both of us were full and port happy with our lunch. Would have been a 4 start rating but.... The waitress was not really great, she was very open with the fact that she didn't want to be there. At on e point when the phone rang she sighed loudly and said ooh my God before answering. When my husband went up to the counter to pay, we never got a bill and we're tired of waiting so I sent him up there she was rude to the man that was in line in front of him. Told him there's your food.... When he went pay with a $20 she said "don't you have anything smaller, I can't break that!" She was just very surly and made for a poor experience. I come here often because I live right around the corner and I love chicken shawarmas. First off, the food is delicious. The customer service could use some help. I wouldn't say that it is top of the line, but it is not the worst either. I usually take my food to go because dining in is a nightmare. It gets a lot of foot traffic because of all the hotels and because it is near the airport. Right when you walk in they yell from the back of the restaurant, "You dining in or taking out?", "OK sit anywhere you'd like." Terrible. To walk in and take out is pretty bad too. They DO NOT have a waiting area. You can tell they piled a lot of tables in there to seat as many people as possible. So you are kind of crunched up by the counter and your behind is literally in the face of some people dining in. Your best bet is to order take out and make sure you wait read more

A very good Mediterranean restaurant in an area that surly lacks such places. Me and my wife stopped by after a long day at work. We ordered a plate if mixed Shawarma, with hummus and grape leaves to go along with it . We didn't have to wait long for the food to come out, and when it did it smelled great, but most importantly it tasted fresh. The appetizers perfectly complemented the Shwarma. The service was also very friendly and kind. Me and my wife took our time to select what we wanted and didn't feel rushed at all by the waiter. First time in Detroit, so I decided to try some Arab food that everyone was raving about. I walked in and was greeted by Suzie and she immediately made me feel welcome. She told me to try the shish tawook platter. After ordering, another girl named Zena made sure that I understood the menu fully and gave me a fruit smoothie as a welcome gift to Michigan. I got carry out from here once, and it was decent. I took my parents back here over the weekend and it was terrible. The booth the sticky, and dirty. The turnips had a weird taste, the pickles weren't even edible, the fatuous wasn't great and the chicken on it was so fatty. I won't be coming back here, and I suggest everyone else to stay clear! I only get carry out because the service is soooo bad and even the service over the phone is terrible. If their food fell out of a machine Auto-mat style it would be one of my favorite resturants. Living in Southern California, we have the famous Zankou Chicken... literally the gold standard for chicken shawarma and garlic sauce. Coming to Detroit for years, I hit my usual BBQ place, but that's about it... until now. I have a new fave to add to the list, Beirut. I have to hand it to this tiny family-run place. Been coming here for years when I'm at Detroit Airport. There Baba Ganoush is amazing, I get it every time with Hummus and Pita Bread. I enjoy Middle Eastern food so was happy to see this restaurant close to my hotel. The baba ganoush was incredible- a nice smokey flavor! And the fatoush had a great dressing.
