I understand things will happen with toddlers, and that isn't what shapes my opinion of this facility... it is how I was treated after removing my daughter from the facility. When I returned the following day to get my daughter's things and to return the key fobs - the director of the facility (who had previously been very nice), was now rude and icy. I stood in the lobby for a few minutes while someone got our things from the classroom and she didn't even ask how my daughter was doing. You would think that someone in the childcare industry would actually care about THE CHILD. Not here. And don't be fooled by the "schedule" they give you (which indicates circle time or other quieter times) or how they describe the toddler rooms as being 6 kids and 1 teacher... the older toddlers are in a room with 12 kids and 2 teachers. There is no structure, no downtime besides eating and nap time. They just ran around all day. My daughter was there for 3 hours a day and her 6 days at this facility has traumatized her.

If you have children enrolled here pay attention to that live feed because Miss Beth along with other teachers get rough with the kids also these teachers talk to these kids crazy and they simply don't care. I call myself checking in on my little one and I see him sitting on his bed with his pants and underwear down. I call Miss Beth and she tells me this crazy story basically blaming my son for leaving the bathroom after he had an accident which is so bizarre. The story didn't make any sense no matter how innocent she tried to make it sound. Once we're off the phone I decided to pick him up early. Conveniently when I got there, there is a different teacher in the classroom and Miss Beth was nowhere to be found. I tried to address my concerns, the story then changes and Kim self chimes in as if she was in the classroom. Kim gets loud and cuts me off while I'm speaking. The director never came out her office. Just pitiful. The point I was attempting to make is if I'm watching the live feed and other parents obviously have the same access I do .... I'm sure they saw what I saw. There's no reason my son's genital area should've been exposed and who knows for how long. Miss Beth said she couldn't find his extra clothes .. but you all wouldn't let me forget it upon him starting. I packed everything in a ziplock bag which was labeled. I'm sure his items would've been easier to find had the classroom been more organized and he had his own cubby like you said you would do on his very first day. It is pure chaos up in there.. I'm praying heavily for a change for the sake of those little babies still enrolled. I tried to let this matter go but I simply couldn't, I'm not sure what type of parent you all thought I was but anybody can get blessed behind what I birthed !

The accountability from more people being present and the webcams make this more attractive than babysitters and the cost is comparable, so why not?! I heard about Spontaneity from a neighbor and I was immediately intrigued. We moved to Edmond a few months ago and I love it, but I miss my network of kid watchers and my mother in law! So, a drop in kids center sounded amazing. There are three steps to get in: 1. Take a tour. 2. Schedule an interview/meeting (review their policies with them). (2a. Sign up for webcam service--not required, but a benefit) 3. Drop your kid off. We visited for the tour and we were pleasantly surprised that our child was invited to play while we talked. We came at a busy time (Saturday evening) so we really got to see the place in action. The front door is locked and the gal at the desk has to let folks in (we gave a code we'd like for the door, so not sure how that works as everyone got buzzed in). The lobby area has a place to leave shoes and coats and there are special socks they like the kids to wear to avoid losing socks and for hygiene. We came back a week later to interview and our kiddo got to play then. This is great for those kids that haven't done school or been away from parents much to see how they do in a care setting. A few days later we dropped our kids off (five months and almost 4 years). I loved being able to watch them if I got that "I wonder how they're doing" feeling and being able to SEE everything. Also, they round time to the minute, so if you think you'll be 3 hours, but actually are 2.5, you'll get charged for two full hours plus a half--not three.

Thank you Yelp! From Cassandra's review mentioning webcams, to Steffanie's review detailing the…read moretotal cost, I felt like I had enough information to get our little girl registered a few months ago when the woman who had been watching her on Mondays and Fridays went back to work. I knew this wouldn't cover everything, but I knew it would help to have an option. I now have someone helping us at home those two days, but she needed today off, and I desperately still needed to work. Our Mothers Day Out is also over at 2:30, so I can imagine some days when I will need to get her from there and bring her by here so I can get more of a full work day in when JJ's grandmothers are not available. The registration process is reassuringly lengthy - they are not even playing with this! They ask for a lot of important info and require current immunization charts (huzzzah!). It took them a few days to approve our application, but once you're pre-approved, you can bring your kiddo anytime. They charge a once a year fee of $70 per family and then $10 an hour for one kid. The price goes down to $15 per hour for two kids, and so on. Not too shabby, and the registration fee will quickly pay for itself if we use this much at all. She had an awesome day. She was happy to see me, but didn't really want to leave, and I think that is perfect. She lingered for a long time on the front patio smelling the flowers and then tried to get back in. We haven't activated the webcams but we will, not so much to check up on them but just to see how much fun she must be having. They supply snacks and lunch for a $4 charge per snack/lunch. Honestly, on a day like today, it was so worth it to not have to worry about what I would pack for her lunch. There is a 6-hour, DHS-mandated maximum, and you are heavily penalized for going over, so this really is a "Drop In" and not an all day thing. Today I needed to pick up our daughter by 3:50 to beat the 6 hour mark, and I got there at 3:30. But, she played so hard, she fell asleep about 5 minutes into the car ride and didn't even wake up when I got her out of her seat, so I'm back at my desk and back at work with a napping baby! Five stars plus plus!

Preschool Inquiry Experience - Proceed with Caution…read more I wanted to share our recent experience with FUMC Preschool in Edmond as a heads-up for other families considering their program. We reached out with a respectful and thoughtful list of questions--things like curriculum, staff qualifications, governance structure, and family communication practices. Nothing intrusive, just due diligence before committing our child to a school. After receiving no response for over a week (including a follow-up voicemail from grandfather), we followed up again to clarify and make sure the email was received. What we got back wasn't answers--but a dismissive email suggesting we might not be a "good fit" simply for asking for transparency, followed by the director stating she would no longer respond to emails and inviting us to "find her supervisor's info on the website." It was condescending, unprofessional, and incredibly disappointing--especially from someone leading a program that should be built on trust, communication, and partnership with families. We've since moved on, but I believe other parents deserve to know what they might encounter if they reach out with genuine interest. Asking questions should never be treated as a problem. Make sure the program you choose welcomes your voice, not shuts it down.

She has been to two other day care facilities back when we lived in IL. She cried every time I dropped her off at those and they were super high-end with excellent reviews. Now that she is at Goddard, she is super excited to get ready and go to school in the morning. Everyone, and I mean everyone, who works there is always smiling and helpful. They all know my daughter's name and greet her with smiles and excitement every time. They also have a shaded play yard which is hard to find in OK--I don't have to worry about her getting sunburned or the excessive use of sunscreen. I love this place. It is small and they allow flexible schedules. My daughter goes four days a week and we only pay for four days per week. Love it, Love it!
