They no longer accept cash at express self service kiosk. Had a $10 purchase and was there at 5:30 and went to pay when saw kiosk didn't take cash. I don't have cc so ha d to stand in cashier line for 20+ minutes to make a purchase. Head cashier told me it was a corporate change. It's conveniently located in a center with other shops and it's big enough where you can see it from the street no matter what side you may be traveling. They have a wonderful array of options for groceries and even if you're going there for the most basic of things, they have things that will catch your attention and at least make you want to walk over. They usually have all the food that we need for our home and they usually have the food nobody else does. The store is clean, there is plenty of parking, and the customer service agents are friendly, fast, and efficient. I always enjoy coming here to shop. read more

Turkey sandwich on a sourdough roll with Mayo and Mustard. The sandwich is cut waayyy to high and in the other half of the sandwich it is as just a thin line of crust (that played as the top of my sandwich). I've never seen a person cut a sandwich this high. Also this is AFTER I added my own turkey, mayo and mustard. There was only two slices of turkey and two dime sized drops of mayo and mustard. Just to be transparent I LOVE sandwiches from here. But this one seemed like it was made by someone who was completely new to the idea of sandwiches. Since they shrank the Raley's store we started going back to Bel Air more. A word of advice, watch the expiration dates closely. Today we found several juice drinks with expiration dates of early August (it is early October now) in the cooler. Both Bolthouse Farms and Naked. Two months past the expiration is just rediculous. We've run into it before where we didn't check the dates and only noticed when we got ready to use the item a couple days after we bought it. read more

Everything goes bad too quickly. I bought two packs of raspberries at 7.99 and the next day they had mold when I went to eat them. The top ones looked ok but under was awful! Additionally now they do "SE Member only discounts" but you have to clip the coupon in the app. So now I need to enter my number but also remember to waste extra time doing arbitrary things when, being a member, could be simplified from the get go. Additionally, their newest promo says 77¢ chicken drumstick, thighs, or leg quarters. When it didn't apply I was told oh its not on boneless or skinless. I don't even buy wings or thighs but decided to give them a try since it was a good deal, I do feel frustrated they wouldn't make it right. As far as ambiance its not the cleanest and I went to get apples for an elderly friend and they were all bruised and slimy all over underneath. :( dogs are allowed in shopping carts and the trash outside is often filled. I will give them that their deli is decently stocked and they have a nice meat and cheese selection. Edit: additionally I never made a review because I was too busy at the time but I had ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday from the bakery and the picture that I want it on top could not be done because it was copyrighted material. Boo... but luckily, they had that same material, but a different design for a cake that they could do, yay! I asked if blueberries could be cut in the cake, and when they repeated it back to me, they said blueberries on top, so I verified not on top of the cake right in the middle. They said yes. I was so excited... When I went to pick up the cake, the colors were completely off From the picture they had shown me and... blueberries ... 5 of them. On top of the cake and none in the middle. We were so disappointed. We still gave them another try because mistakes can happen and I ordered a pink floral cake that they also had in their book when I got it it was straight up orange. mind you this was for a four year olds birthday and her favorite color was pink the decorations we had bought for the cake, we're also pink. It was Expired something that I had not expected from Bel Air since everything is more expensive. When I went to return it, they made me stand in a long line. Very Poor customer service. I had to go all the way back to that store and when I got home, my frozen items were melted. I urge everyone to think twice before going there. The Chinese food and shushi in the food court has greatly improved; the shushi is fresh and the broccoli be beef, sweet and sour chicken and mushroom chicken very satisfying with some chow mein ideal for a quick meal. Also the fried chicken is good too. It has become my go to place to get a meal when wifey is not cooking or have unexpected guest. Service is good and save time and money alternative of getting fast food. The bolgogi chicken dumping and my ling ling potstickers are very good steamed or fried to complement a meal. read more

We were getting some sliced deli meat for a family gathering. I asked the customer service rep what the date was on the meat. He would only look at the original packaging date. That date is not important once the package is opened. After it is opened the meat is only safe to eat for five to seven days. I wanted to know how long it had been open. He was not helpful and managed to make me feel like I was inconveniencing him by asking. There is another (independent) grocery store literally around the corner. This Bel air has the best customer service I've ever seen. I went in the other night and asked about a product, the employee took me around the store until we found what I was looking for. I really didn't expect it. I was very impressed. They are always very helpful but he went above and beyond. It's really nice to feel like my business means something. I will shop this store first from now on. They also usually have plenty of cashiers, so the lines aren't too long and their something extra program and sale prices are great. Bakery Dept wake up ! I've noticed a consistent decline in the quality of this dept over the years. I bought a large peach pie 7-12-22 and it was awful :( So bad it prompted this review. Visually, looked ok, Crust, mushy and pale color possibly came out of freezer? wet and soggy bottom. Filling, very little peaches, excessive thickener a mushy white substance, visible wet fluid in pan after removing a slice, tasted yucky .... If I were to speculate seems like somebody took canned peaches with syrup stirred in thickener..... Recommend the Bakery manager taste / inspect all of their products like a Chef would, also employees taste / give input. I bet they would not serve this or eat it themselves. read more

I have lived in Yuba City for almost 40 years, since I was a teenager... I have shopped at this Belair for years & years spending thousands upon thousands of dollars. However, after yesterday's experience Sunday (8/30/20) I will not ever be back! This is the reason: Yesterday while shopping I had a horrible experience with a very rude, hateful, cocky, disrespectful old man who was shopping with his wife. He rudely reached across me (yes even with the covid 6 feet apart rule in place) flung open the refrigerator glass door to grab something then proceeded to slam it shut extremely hard taking a tantrum, because I apparently didn't hear him say excuse me! When I told him I didn't hear him he told me I should pay attention. He called me a B**** and again a f-ing B**** REALLY! OF course I'm going to stick up for myself who wouldn't in a situation like that where a complete stranger is slamming doors in your face, and calling you B words! There was NO yelling/screaming etc. KRIS Or CHRIS not sure of the correct spelling of her name or her exact title , but she was a middle aged with blonde hair appeared & had the audacity to approach the situation as if she was the Yuba City Police or Sheriff saying Quote: " NOT IN MY STORE THIS IS NOT HAPPENING" & "THAT WE ARE BOTH GOING TO BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE STORE" & "SOMEBODY NEEDS TO BE THE BIGGER PERSON" WTH... I even tried to explain to her that he was cussing at me etc., but she would NOT listen & did NOT want hear anything I had to say what- so-ever, and frankly didn't care & made the whole situation way WORSE...she treated me like a piece of CRAP to say the least! But my question is if there has been other complaints WHY IS SHE STILL WORKING THERE THEN???? This entire situation should have been handled way more professionally & the one who instigated & started the drama in the first place should of been the one asked to leave the store! Most professionals would of handled it way better & appropriately ! Hopefully Belair Market will be more selective & careful who they hire & entrust with their customers in the future! In the past 2 months, I have placed an online order for pickup from this specific Bel Air. BOTH times, I have received rotten produce!!! Against my better judgement after receiving the first pickup order with rotten produce, I placed another pickup order. I had hoped it was just a fluke deal, because I have had great luck with other Raleys and Bel Air stores before. Well, once again, I received rotten produce. There were visible gashes and holes with mold in the tomatoes and the asparagus was mushy and gross. I don't understand why the employees that are fulfilling the online orders are giving customers this kind of produce?!?!? I really don't think they are even looking at the quality of what they are grabbing. If they wouldn't eat it, then why should my family?!?!? Again, this is the only Raleys/Bel Air that I have had issues with doing pickup orders! Since the pandemic, this has become my go to grocery store. I feel safe, it is clean, well stocked (as much as possible) and a real pleasure to shop in. The people that work there are helpful and friendly. I love the meat department. The Harris Ranch beef is wonderful and the sale prices can beat the local discount stores. They have a great rewards program that is easy to use. I am sure that when all this craziness is over, I will still be shopping at Bel Air. read more

It was 9:00 PM and I was late heading home from work and picking up dinner at Bel Air. I had missed the deli case shutting down for salads but I noticed Shawna Avila busting her butt and mopping and. The brandy fried chicken is always perfectly cooked and uniquely crispy, which makes it unlike other fried chicken. I witnessed a middle aged gentleman that works in produce and a younger women be unhelpful to a women that was asking for dishwasher soap. She couldn't speak English well. My Mom used to come here especially for their meat. The best in town other people would say. Yes, it was o.k. meat and you paid the price, and that goes for everything else in the store. Union store with union wages but that does not mean very friendly employees. Every time I come here there is this 30-40 yr. old blond that gives me a nasty look. One time I was at the self check out and the register got stuck, I turned around and she was working the machine that keeps an eye on all the self check out lanes. She comes up to me and says "what?!" and just as I was going to say something the grocery manager, at least that is what I thought he is, came up and unlocked my lane. Wonderful staff in all departments. I mean I am truly impressed with the service in this store. Down to the baggers and all the deli department workers and produce too. There's a couple people at the front of the store that just always go over the top and always serve with a smile. There's a short blonde girl that is always helping in every way she can and always does it with a smile and happily. Also quite a few baggers that always make great conversation while keeping bagging my groceries and always do a great job. This store makes me keep faith in great customer service and taking pride in their jobs. Really amazing staff seriously. Never get this kinda service anywhere else. What a bummer!!! What was the best, freshest, tastiest produce selection in town has become a cellophane-wrapped 2nd-rate imitation of a 7-11. Rock-hard peaches, tomatoes, & mangoes that never fully ripen abound in the much sparser area of open bins that remain. Anything leafy & green is highly processed, wrapped, & entombed in huge vertical cabinets. With a huge multi-aisle, overpriced wine selection and only the most commercial sugar-loaded breakfast cereals and sodas, it has become a joke of their motto.
