If you're gonna specialize in one thing, you better do it well. When the shop has "Fries" in the name, and from Belgium, then it better be amazing to impress me because I had the real thing. Luckily, the fries here are absolutely fantastic. First of all, it is very crispy but also airy. Just as important for me though is how potato-y it always tastes. As a complete package, it is one of the best fries in all of NYC imho. My favorite sauces Roasted Garlic Aioli and Black Truffle Mayo. On my most recent visit, I had the limited time Fries Cream, which is a large scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of a bunch of fries. There was a choice of putting the fries in a cone-shaped holder (S, M, L) or a box. We opted for the box cause it was easier to put down and share. While I visited the Macy's Holiday Square pop up shop, not the original, I still have nothing but good things to say about my experience. The man working the stand was incredibly sweet and inviting, the ordering process was very quick, my food came out in a very timely manner, and it even came in a very convenient cone shape with a sauce attachment, making it very convenient to eat on the go. The fries were delicious, very hot at times, but so so good. They were big, without being too thick, and the Smoky chipotle sauce was absolutely delicious. Great snack for a freezing day. My boo and I ordered two of their paper cones: one filled with Bel-Fries and the other filled with popcorn chicken. The breading was a bit on the thick side and not so flavorful. They did offer sauces, one star removed for that. It was a $2.50 upcharge per sauce and they don't give enough for one to fully enjoy their eats with. The fries were tasty and imo balanced out the plain tasting chicken nuggets, but they did add too much salt because all of the fries at the bottom were blech with the salt that shifted downward. I think their bottom fries would be tastier and less likely to accumulate excess salt if they added seasoning when frying instead of afterwards. The service was fast and friendly. Stopped by here while checking out food in the area and seeing there was a fry spot which I love. I got the Cajun fries which came with two sauces one I believe with their truffle sauce and the other was like a barbecue sauce. I was not a fan of the barbecue sauce, but the truffle sauce was good. My sister also got mozzarella sticks and fries and loved it. The menu has a lot of different fry options which is really cool that range from I believe $12-$15. Service was OK nothing to brag over. My friend and I did a food tour in the city and we came across this spot as we wandered in the Lower East Side. Note: it is a walkup counter with a couple tables so be mindful of the limited seating. As for the service...not sure but the cashier seems to be a bit shady. The couple ahead of us left the screen on the tip page so we had to wait until the screen was ready for our transaction, but the cashier seems to have filled out the tip field himself. I also liked the sauce options they had such as curry mango and sricha mayo. The service was also pretty good, the cashier was polite and gave good suggestions. The fries paired great with the sauces. The samurai sauce was tart and had a lytle heat which was great. The frite sauce had a thick mayo feeling and tast that I didn't enjoy but my friend did. - the popcorn chicken and fries 3.5/5 felt like a McDonalds old school chicken tender chicken which i enjoyed. I decided to stop here because my youngest did not want to eat any K dogs. I remember this place from trying their fries at a night market that I had visited. They were really hot and crispy fat fries and were delightful to eat. So we came to this location and ordered on our first visit some mini corn dogs and fries and some dipping sauces on the side. DELICIOUS! The truffle sauce is a must. On the next visit was the popcorn chicken and fries. My overall take is that the mini corn dogs were so good that I didn't get to take a picture. The popcorn chicken my daughter enjoyed, but yes, the fries are the winner winner best dinner of the evening. I would pass on the cheese sauce and the Samari sauce. Just go with the truffle.
