Overall the best Brewery in San Diego! Great service and the best section of beers. Been to more breweries in San Diego than I can count and at each one I can find only 1-2 maybe 3 beers that are good or just okay. And at Belching Beaver there's maybe only been a couple that I didn't like from their huge selection of craft beers. Came here on a Friday night for some beer and grub. Two hours before they closed they ran out of food, so we only had one beer and left. I had the me so honey beer which was tasty. The beers were about $7. The lady who was running the food truck told us "just so you know we're out of food." As we got in line. Great. Then later she came to our table and told us they still have some food left but didn't elaborate. Really helpful. The tables are not six feet apart and most were not wearing masks at the tables so - just something to be aware of. read more

This is basically a hidden gem of a "tasting room" in a huge garage brewery! Barrels line the walls, the beer is fresh off the tap & inexpensive, and doors are open to air (probably depending on the weather), it's well lit with string lights, and the music is cool. To say the place is spacious is cutting it short. Everything we tried was delicious. Also since they also serve food, you can bring your kids (they have coloring books!) They have foosball & giant jenga too. I got the ODB (old dirty barrel) with vanilla and coconut - russian imperial stout (10.3%)*, orange vanilla ipa (6.9%), mexican chocolate peanut butter stout (7.5%), hazers going to haze double ipa (8.2%), and the here comes mango ipa (6.5%) *so yummy!! Belching Beaver just renovated and rebranded their original brewery in Vista as "Pub 980". This Oceanside location is the new main production brewery. As you would probably expect, the brewing area is huge, with massive tanks. It is quite impressive just because of the scale of the place. The tasting room is just okay. There is lots of space, but only a few tables. Bar seating was limited. There is a company store in the corner, and games like giant Jenga and giant Connect Four are available. There was nothing wrong with the service, but it wasn't exceptional either. I think the staff feel swamped by the volume of customers. Parking was little tough on the weekend. Because it is so large, this area and the tasting room have even more of an industrial feel than in the usual craft brewery. For this reason, even if I lived nearby, I don't think I would chose this location to hang out at: You could go instead to Pub 380, or the Belching Tavern and Grill in Vista, both of which are very pleasant places to spend time. The Belching Beaver North Park tasting room is likewise very nice. Since I've had a lot of Belching Beaver beer in my time, on this occasion I was just looking for a pint. To my surprise and pleasure, they had on a fresh keg of Thizz is What it Is, a Citra Double IPA that was the 2017 winner of the Alpha King Challenge, a competition that runs alongside the Great American Beer Festival and which some consider to be the most prestigious award in brewing. This is head brewer Thomas Peter's third Alpha King medal, including a bronze in 2015 and another gold in 2014. Belching Beaver is already doing well and they seem to be on an upswing at the moment. Look to see their Peanut Butter Stout in cans and kegs in even more places, and to see more of their lineup being distributed as well. read more

Great brewery in a somewhat obscure place. It's in an an area where there is a mix of businesses and residential areas, so you wouldn't know it was here unless you went looking for it. We used to go to the one down in San Diego, so it's nice that we don't have to drive so far to enjoy some good brews. They don't serve food, but they have a different food truck daily, with some of them offering vegan options *squeals in delight*. The staff is pleasant, and there is lots of seating in and outside. Great brewery with a good variety of beers that are frequently rotated. It's located in an industrial park, so plenty of parking and not much else around (that's open to the public anyway). Open air seating that's spread apart, and high warehouse ceilings make this place feel more pandemic-friendly than most. They don't serve food, but have a rotation of food trucks that come by daily. With a fully equipped tap room and acting as one storage house, Belching Beaver can host any type of party you need. They have a wide selection of specialty crafts fresh from the tap. I have never been a huge fan of Belching Beaver Brews however the atmosphere is what does it for me. The taproom can get a bit noisy but its spacious, well-lit, and never crowded. Located in the back of an industrial park, this brewery is off the beaten path. It's worthy of one visit, more if you like odd brews, like peanut butter beer. The o names of the beers make selections difficult, as you are forced to read the descriptions in their entirety. Really slows down the line. It'd be great if the beers were organized in groups by type, darkness, etc. It would speed up the ordering line. Wooden barrels surround the picnic tables. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable as I asked all my questions. I had the Mango IPA and my brother got the Peanut Butter Milk Stout. I highly recommend getting the Mango IPA! I'm not a fan of darker beers, so I cannot speak for the PB Milk Stout, but my brother really liked it and ended up getting a growler to go. read more

My husband and I really enjoy belching beaver's beers, so we have tried this place out a few times in recent months. We attended their Halloween party and it was amazing! It was a great deal and it was just a really fun time! Probably the most fun we've had all year to be honest. So many beers on tap, good food available, plenty of restrooms (supplemented by poets potties outside), and really nice staff. Every time we have gone there they have also had some kind of food truck supplying food. Always a plus! The other time, besides Halloween when we were there, we had a completely different experience. It was pretty crowded and there was only one unisex restroom for everyone to use. Obviously the line was way too long, kind of unreasonable, and I know some people behind us left solely because of the lack of restrooms. You also have to stand in line to order beers. I am sure this is easier on the staff, but it leads to long long long lines. And, for some reason this time there were a lot of children around. Love the beers here, love their events, but the bathroom and serving situation needs work for when it gets crowded! read more

Nice atmosphere. Dog friendly. Good company. My views here are just mine today. Very IPA driven. I do like some of their products available at the store and I'll take a couple cans home. Hop Highway and American Denim both take a little metallic. OK but in San Diego county there is a lot better even within a few miles. Lizard tastes a bit like medicine. I'll come back for another 4. Mexican Chocolate is more like their bold crazy style. You have to visit a BB location if you like stouts and the like. They do things others don't with chocolate and peanut butter. If you like to try things, try them all. So read the 5 star reviews and see if they are your thing. I am not ready to live I. A 5 or bad review world. Average experience today. I'll be back. 5 stars for ambiance and vibe- I actually went there to taste food from the Mexico City cuisine taco truck so I didn't get to drink any of the beers cos I was driving- but the flavors looked so good -having deftones brew was pretty dope too- and the spot was definitely one I would visit often if I lived in the area- bonus for the punk rock playlist (bad brains!) and allowing dogs on the patio. May have to check it out when I come back for my wedding and get some beers for my guests. read more

Why do all the employees at each BB seem grumpy or like they are "too cool"??? I don't get it. There are a million breweries, you don't need to act like you are better than anyone. Nobody is ever mean, they just seem like they feel superior. Anyhow, this location is average. The beer is good like it always is a BB, I was super happy to finally get to try the peanut butter and jelly and it was awesome. I was lucky to come by on a night where Full Metal Burger was cooking and since they are one of my favorites I ended up staying longer than I planned. The brewery is pretty much just that, a brewery. Hit belching now that is has had it's grand opening. Very busy on thursty Thursday. Place looks great, 21 beer on tap. The improvements that they still need to make---its very hard to order and get yr beer. You have to basically reach over some dude to get to counter. They need an adjustment like the Vista counter. The other is get the poor guy behind the counter some help. He was running like a chicken with his head cut off. 40 people 1 person serving. Maybe in the future they will have outdoor seating. Would be awesome. Went to the Ugly Opening at the Beaver. I have been driving by for months saying open open open! Finally my favorite brewery with in almost walking distance....You can see that they spent tons of money on the brewery set up. Very impressive. Great crowed and great beer. I love Belching Beaver and I'm so excited for the newer larger location up in Oceanside, but with the larger location, I was hoping for more of a hanging out area in their new space. I know that this location isn't like their Downtown Vista location with all the food and not like the first Vista location. The first Vista location has a nice fire pit area outside with the plenty of open seating and stuff. I love that!! I love that this location has insider space heaters, but the fact there was like 5 tables was hard for friends to just come and hang out. It was really hard to get 8 people with food from their food truck and beers all around a barrel. Their beers are the same from all the other locations so it's hard to say "hey, their beer here is good." because you've probably already had it before. read more

The epitome of what San Diego brewing is all about. Good vibe and great beers. Was here yesterday when they had trivia night. Full Metal Burgers were there which hit the spot and complimented the beer I was drinking well. The gentleman that was helping me really demonstrated his expertise in the Beaver offerings. I asked for a suggestion even though I have had their milk and peanut butter stout even their gingerbread stout during Christmas...yum! He asked if I had tried the latte. Latte? WTF!?? Yes please! Life changing to say the least. Yelp had a brewventure there and got two full beers and a collector's glass(Belching Beaver Logo) for 10 bucks.
