Tepache IPA with 10 yeast strains, brown sugar, and pineapple... Delicious.
    Daniel B.

This cozy family-owned tasting room is a hidden gem located behind Carlsbad Brew Supply. The beer is fresh and flavorful, many with a Mexican twist - such as the Tepache IPA with pineapple rind, brown sugar, and 10 different yeast strains, as well as the Fiddy/Fiddy creamsicle ale with orange and vanilla. They are growler-only and fill all growlers. They also offer 32- and 64-oz growlers for $5 each.

Buy and fill ur growler gurlz!! ;)

Low key and super friendly. (Note: this is not a tasting room; bring your growler!) there's a nice variety and tasty. Come get your brewing supplies!

El Vanillo is a really good smooth beer. Like the ambiance of the place. Raul the owner is very nice and welcoming. I enjoy this scene, like the people.

Came in to try some tasters in Carlsbad but didn't notice it was a growler fill only brewery. They're opening a tasting room in vista soon.

I've been going since they were limited to their Miramar location. Having been to all of their locations at this point they're all very beautiful. We end up visiting the Carlsbad location the most, as it's the most convenient location on our way up and down from LA. Perfect place to get some food around the area and have a drink before picking up a case to take home. They have a great and varied selection of beers for everyone. I'm a big IPA fan so I tend to lean towards their Diamond Dust as my favorite from their core line. Their specialty releases and collabs are always a hit. Their beers are all uniquely flavored, you can really taste the different elements to their offerings If it's your first time, their flight deals are a great way to try all of their selections. Feel free to ask the staff on recommendations as well. This location has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and very clean. It's the perfect place to grab a drink and take some to-go as well. Excellent vibes all around Definitely one of my favorite breweries!

I'm not a huge beer, drinker, but I am pretty certain that there is something for every kind of beer drinker. There are two different Belgian blondes and I tried them both. Wonderful and refreshing, especially in the hot San Diego weather lately. We ordered from the sandwich shop inside and split a sandwich and some saucy chicken wings--both were amazing! The sandwich was piled high with meat, melty cheese, and just the right crunch from the toasted bread. The wings were flavorful, sticky, and perfectly spicy. It's also dog-friendly, which we love, and there were lots of TVs playing the game, making it a great spot to chill, snack, and cheer. Everyone's super friendly and helpful. It just has a good vibe.

To say I was blown away would be an understatement…read more Most breweries outsource their food (which is perfectly fine) or offer chips or popcorn or other light snacks. This place has a full blown menu with absolutely excellent food and an enormous beer and wine list (including tons of beers from other breweries). The food here is not "hey, you're at a brewery, the beer comes first" food. This food is absolutely legit. Bring your family. Bring your kids. I cannot say I am a patty melt expert but my patty melt (with bacon added) was, by far, the best patty melt I have ever had in my life. I could almost dream about it. It was an absolute enormous thing, and the patty was juicy and humongous and I loved every cheesy, bacony, meaty bite of it. Bring your snake jaws for this one. The sliders with bacon and cheese were also excellent. The buns were a step above normal buns but they definitely added to the meal. For the beer, I went with a flight of very heavy stouts and barrel-aged brews. I liked them all but the one from the bourbon barrel was magnificent and I also made sure my designated driver took the wheel on the way home. Some of these beers are quite powerful. I am not a dessert guy, or a root beer guy, but the root beer float was insane. It is a thing of beauty. Our service was wonderful and the interior decor of the restaurant was fun and interesting. Fantastic food. Very good beer. Plenty of free parking in the lot. I cannot believe I have never been here before. I hope to visit again soon.

Mind you we've been going to the Encinitas Ale House location for years and were hopeful that it was the same as what the staff told us in Encinitas. - it is not. This was so bad. I would never come back here again. Overcooked fried fish tacos, overdone French fries and Caesar like "salad in a bag". Our server was immediately not interested in us when we did not order alcohol and then never offered or refilled our water even one time. Big location. It was not packed so there was zero excuse for how bad it was.

What does it say about me that I picked this place for dinner because it has "beaver" in the name?…read moreI don't want to know! But my excuse is that I did it for the children. Inexplicably, my kids love beavers, and so when we were staying in Carlsbad for the night and looking for a place to eat, how could we not visit a place called Belching Beaver? We couldn't not! And so we did. It turns out, Belching Beaver is a very family-friendly brewery, with lots of arcade games, lawn games, and an extremely laid-back atmosphere. I wasn't going to get a beer, but then I saw that the brewery did a collaboration with the Deftones to create an IPA called Phantom Bride. I had to get a pint. Chino Moreno made me do it! It was citrusy and refreshing, and just the thing to enjoy while sitting on the outdoor picnic tables. Belching Beaver offers your average pub food. My kids got chicken tenders and fries, and mac and cheese with fries. I got a poke bowl, which sounds like a risky choice at a brewery, but it was actually really good and fresh! Not too saucy, either. We also got the carne asada 980 Nachos, which are huge and come on a baking sheet. Plenty enough to share! This place is tucked away in what looks like an office plaza. I'm learning that a lot of breweries in this area are posted up in situations like this.
