Beef & cheese Empanadas
Zipporah F.

I've had cheese beef with peppers empanadas from Belén De La Cruz. Let me just say they are the BEST I've ever had. They are perfectly filled with the best cheese to beef ratio lol not overly cheesy, meat not falling out. The crust omg so soft, with the perfect crusted edges. They have a $1 dipping sauce that's good too. They're stamped to know what kinda they are as well. This location is inside of The Works food hall. I do take out, usually takes about 10 mins.

All the other reviews are right. What else are you waiting for? Just go. The empanadas are stuff to the brim. The flavor of the filling is so good. And the crust is nice and flaky. These are not Argentine empanadas. They border more on a Cuban style and I love that.

I love empandas! After much debate, my friend and I split their spinach and cheese as well as their beef and cheese with a side of chimichurri (+$1). Took about 10 minutes for them to heat them up but hot they were (be careful). Both were filled, cheesy and yummy. My only gripe was the dough being very thin and more flakey than chewy, which is my preferred, but I understand that certain cultures make them differently. Otherwise, staff was super friendly and there were a fair amount of flavors to pick from so I would come again :).

Squash and Chicken Empanadas

My favorite spot for a quick meal at the Works! I have tried the butternut squash, mushroom, onion, two cheese, chicken cheese, beef, cheesy beef, and chicken empanadas. All of them are amazing! My favorites are the butternut squash one and the two cheese! Overall, I would highly recommend!

I have been to one of their stand alone locations for their sweet treats so I was super pumped to try their Works location!! The employees and staff were super nice and coming from someone with an Argentine mom the menu looked perfect! I got one of their alfajores and a ham and cheese empanada. The empanada was ready in just over 5 minutes or so! Immediately upon seeing the empanada I knew it would be good! I love when they are baked because then you can appreciate the dough so great start. The filling was then absolutely ham and cheesy goodness and tasted amazing!!! Could not have a exceeded my expectations more. And the alfajor was also an sweet and delicious perfection to wrap up the afternoon snack. This place is the the real deal and worth it!

I love when places get creative with empanadas!!! Belén de la Cruz had a lot of choices. I wanted to order 1 of each flavor empanada but my wallet said NO. So I went for the 3 empanada combo. Two of the 3 were a hit! I chose the caprese, the butternut squash and the bacon. The one that I was most excited about, was the most disappointing, which was Bacon in that it didn't have enough bacon or bacon flavor. The Caprese was great. The butternut squash was weird at first because I never imagined that as an empanada flavor, but I liked it!!!! And with the combo came a pastry dessert and OMG that coconut bite was amazing!!! Wanted to rub it all over my face but I don't believe in wasting food lol. Excellent service with a smile@ Located inside Chattahoochee food works so there was plenty of parking and plenty of seating. Next time I'll make sure to be prepared to get 1 of everything!!

Got these empanadas on a whim while I was in Chattahoochee Food Works, and they were pretty good. I ordered two thinking that one wasn't going to be enough, but one was really filling for me. They're small, but mighty and the price is pretty reasonable. I ordered a mushroom empanada and a spinach one. You'll definitely want the Chimichurri sauce if you're a fan of it, but it is an extra $1 I believe (I wish it came with them). Overall, the experience was pretty good and I would order them again.

Do you love empanadas? Like really love them? Then come check out Belen De La Cruz! They have every type you can think of! They're freshly made to order and they don't skimp on the ingredients! They were so friendly, they answered any questions that we had and their Food Works location is super convenient! Check them out!

Yum! These empanadas were cheesy and melted in my mouth! I ordered a beef, chicken, and the tomato mozz. Personally the Caprese was the best and was just dripping in my mouth! The only problem I had was the time it took all my friends went to other stalls and got there food... I waited over 25 minutes and it wasn't busy. They even provide a little desert and we got the raspberry bar! It was perfectly sweet and cooked!

Corn and chicken and cheese empanadas

I had these empanadas before at an event, where they catered and I really enjoyed them then. On Friday, I was able to try them again at Chattahoochee works. I had the corn and chicken/cheese empanada and they were just as delicious as the first time. They have a variety of empanadas to select from. They're making them fresh, so there may be a little wait, but it's worth it. If you're looking for something good, check this place out!

Yum!!!!! These empanadas are good. They don't skim on the meat and they are very flavorful. I've ordered the beef, chicken, bacon and mushroom. So good!!! It's between the bacon and beef for me but still have to try the others. The mushroom is delicious as well. Ok, ok, I don't have a favorite yet. Will update this review once I try the rest of the menu.

Chicken & cheese and beef & cheese empanadas

I'd been stalking this place since I first heard they'd be opening a stall at The Works. So when they finally opened, I was SUPER excited to try! I ordered the beef and cheese and chicken and cheese empanadas. They cook the empanadas fresh to order and give you a buzzer to notify you when they're ready. It takes about 7 minutes or so. Once mine were ready, I roamed around The Works a little longer then went home to dig into my empanadas. They were soooo bomb! My favorite of the two was the beef and cheese, but they both were absolutely delicious. Perfect amount of meat and cheese and seasoned wonderfully. They also gave me some type of chimichurri sauce that complemented the empanadas well. Now every time I go to The Works, I HAVE to grab an empanada or two from Belen De La Cruz!

The class was well organized and the chef, kitchen staff and volunteers were helpful and attentive. A very nice way to spend time meeting new people while having fun with your friends, family or solo. Unfortunately for us, the old adage "too many cooks in the kitchen" applies here. When class started we were told there would be plenty of food, but we definitely left hungry & a tad disappointed in what was served. We made a lot of shrimp, yet each person got 3. Our table was curious where they all went. The melon on the salad was not ripe, making it unpleasant to eat. The main entree, eggplant parm, was completely inedible by everyone. Apparently, the eggplant had been salted before the students arrived and then salted again during class. So no one had any main entree. The finale was a scoop of ice cream. This made us feel as though we got very little value considering the cost for the class as we certainly could have enjoyed a meal at a sit down restaurant for less & left full. Don't get me wrong, there is value in expertise and instruction, but not $200 worth. However, at the end of the day, it was a good time and we would like to try another class in the future.

Super dope wine venue that's much more than your typical bottle wine shop…read more So it's in a shopping strip mall area so there's free parking there. It's on toward the end of the shopping strip so it's not hard to find. You'll look at the building and there are some indoor and outdoor seats for you, and it's very neat and clean. Coming inside it's a lot bigger than what you would expect. They have a wall of wine, as they should, they have a back room where they do tastings, and not like four tables that are set up. They have like tastings and cooking lessons as well so there's tables and stoves and all sorts of things. They have a full kitchen with a kitchen menu that I hear. The fool was pretty good. I actually didn't try the food on the first time around because I just eaten and I just wanted to stop And to see what it was about because it's been on my list. When I went I sat at the bar and the bartender (Tay) took care of me. She was super cool and we had a good conversation. The bar has liquor there so it's not only wine. They have a very limited selection of liquor but there is liquor there. They have a cocktail menu, again. It's kind of limited, but they can pretty much make whatever you need. But the show the spotlight is going to be on the wine selections. Wish they had plenty of them. I was picking out a wine to try and she definitely helped and gave good advice and led me in a good direction. She was awesome. Now they have a wine club. This wine club is pretty good, so I may consider trying it. I'm already part of wine club elsewhere, but this one might be a little bit different. For the wine club you pay a price and you get about four bottles of wine, but you also get to do all of the tastings as well. You get the good a membership discount if you bring people in to dine-in as well. There's a lot that goes into it. There should be a picture of it in my review so check that out. Oddly enough, they also have trips that they go on for people who want to visit different wine venues. It's really surprising because that isn't a small thing to take group trips to some random part to sample wine. But if you're a wine drinker, and you have the the money to spend, this would be cool to be around like-minded people. They really have a lot to offer! I thought it was a really good random walk-in for me, I enjoyed it. The atmosphere was good, the selections were really good, the customer service was really good, it was great on all parts.

"I may not be able to knit or make plum jam but I can bake a bloody Victoria sponge..." -- Calendar…read moreGirls (2003) What a fun time we had making pies with Sarah Dodge! My friends and I love to spend time together baking whatever, really, and they had some experience working with Sarah on other things - biscuits, breads, etc. So when we found out she had moved to this, we signed up immediately! Signing up had a couple of issues, but luckily Lyn as very responsive via email and we got everything straightened out - kudos to her. The space is set up well, but could use a few things - especially for pie making. A larger fridge, primarily. The little wine-sized fridge just could not keep our pie doughs cold enough for the heat of summer and manage the number of times it was opened and closed as we put things in it. Also, the number of stainless steel tables could not manage the 13 people (it was supposed to be 12) - 8 to 10 really needed to be the max. We were elbow to elbow trying to roll out dough and sharing rolling pins, pastry cutters, etc. Not ideal. Sarah rolled with the punches (pun intended) and we somehow managed to get the pies and galettes knocked out. Baking became the real challenge as the oven space and sizes of pies varied a bit - so luckily we were in the middle of the Curb market, so I shopped for my dinner. Bring your own containers for taking things home - they don't really have anything for you to take stuff out in. By the time my stuff was done, there was not a single bag, sleeve, or anything left for me to put my hot pie into. I'll remember this for next time and bring my own boxes, bags, or whatever based on what I sign up for. Sarah was amazing - she managed the class with ease and explained every step of each process - the whys as well as the whats. I felt as if I understood why my doughs have never worked out and what couple of things I could change in the future to make this process easier. Thanks Sarah for the help in making my pies a future success.

We got my husband hooked on taking classes at the Phipps Plaza location, so much so that our girls…read moreand I never had any trouble coming up with a gift idea for him. We just give him a cooking class with Chef Kyle! He raved about the classes so much that we decided to send our daughters to class too! It wasn't until I was in New Orleans and took my first cooking class there that I realized I had a thing or two to learn as well! I was so happy when Sur La Table opened a location near our home and that my husband's favorite chef moved from Phipps to this location! In the last month or two I have taken 5 classes with my neighbor and with my husband. I have learned so many tips and cooking techniques from Chef Kyle Shankman in that time that I am finding myself wanting to take every single class offered! He is a wonderful teacher, clearly very gifted as a chef but also just a natural born teacher. He clearly has a passion for what he is doing and we are lucky to have him at our Sur La Table. Their school motto is Learn. Eat. Laugh. You will find yourself doing all of that and more. We just got home from a "Date Night - Romantic French Dinner" class with our neighbors. I am still thinking about the Caramel Pear Pot de Crème. All four of us could have eaten 4 servings each but the great news is we can, we know exactly how to make them. In the past if I had seen this recipe in a cookbook or on a blog I would have passed it on by. I just wouldn't have trusted my skill level with any French sounding dessert. Chef Kyle made me realize there is really nothing I can't cook. The confidence I have gained is priceless. And the crazy thing about it is I am an experienced cook! The more I write the more I remember to tell you in this review but it's getting a little long-winded (which I am known for lol) so I will try to sum up the rest. When you take a class you will get an additional 10% off your purchases on the day of class with no product restrictions. If you are a new cook and you take these classes - lucky you. You will be light years ahead of your peers. If you are an intermediate or even an experienced cook, these classes will renew your passion for cooking delicious meals. Kyle taught me to make just a slight adjustment in how I hold my knife and now believe it or not, I am enjoying slicing and dicing. This comes in handy since I am an avid cook. Sign up for a class and don't be surprised if you see me there too! Bon Appetit!

This turned out to not be too great. While I am sure that many people learn a bit when they go to…read morethese classes, I did not. Couple specifics: (1) they had a pastry chef doing a "date night" class...the "regularly scheduled" chef had "other things to do"..and when I pay $70 for someone, I want that someone...so bad on Sur La Table for allowing that to happen. BTW...the pastry chef did an ok job...not her fault (2) The meat...the chef or assistants butchered the meat...and not in a good way! Beef Tenderloin is quite easy to butcher correctly...but this was hacked up...and...they had several really nice pieces...but..."those were for the staff." Hmmm...customer service anyone? This did not work out...probably will not be back for any classes here...
