This is our new "go-to" place as of recently. Everything is gluten free and it's easy to swap out nata/dairy sauces with other sauces or remove cheese. We've ordered the same dishes twice because they are so good: arepita frita: tiny fried arepas. Interestingly, these are just like what my family called fried cornbread growing up. It hit a nostalgic taste note for me. cachapa: a sweet corn pancake (has egg) filled with seasonal market veggies. I can't say enough good things about how those veggies are cooked. They are perfectly sauteed and seasoned. Next time I'm just getting a bowl of them. Lately it has been broccolini, kale, mushrooms, squash and zucchini. Empanadas: these are made to order so you can remove cheese from the filling. My hubby and I loved this spot. We had the best experience at the counter. Shoutout to Alana for helping us navigate the menu and picking my husband out an Arepa that he loved. The restaurant was nicely decorated and not too crowded for Saturday night. We sat outside with the heaters and our food came out fresh and in a timely manner. We ordered the Venezuela Libre and the Guarapita de Parchita for our drinks. The Guarapita was a perfect drink and the flavors took me to an island. The arepa guayanesa was a very generous serving of cheese, but it was a little bit sweeter than I would have liked. Parking is very limited. There are only 4 parking spots in the back but the other patrons found parking somewhere. Order in the front and they will give you a number. It's a small restaurant located in Avondale Estates that serves Venezuelan cuisine and they have a full bar. It's a chill, casual spot.
