I did feel a little awkward because I got a mani and pedi and had accidentally splashed some water during the pedicure and a piece of the sink/tub fell off. I did feel that after the splash she was a bit rough on my callus and hands where I got a little bit of a cut on my finger. She also shook the callus cleaner and skin came out BEFORE starting to work on my feet aka someone else's pieces of skin. I saw another Google post and 100% agree. This place doesn't seem to be 100% on top of sanitation. I apologized profusely because I felt bad about the splash, but I was not 100% happy about the rough service.I honestly should have just given 15% but because I know it's around the holidays I wanted to be nicer. The basic pedicure allows you to pick a scent for the foot scrub (I chose lavender), foot massage, hot stone massage (in my opinion wasn't very hot). The water was hot but that was fine for me since I like my water like that, but could be a problem for someone else. While I waited for my polish to dry I also got a light shoulder massage that was nice. I can say that if you're coming in for a basic pedicure, this place is great. Looking back, that should have been my first red flag--the Groupon only saved about $15 compared to the salon's regular price, but I didn't think much of it. My second red flag was when I arrived and noticed the technician wasn't wearing gloves. During the service, my eyes were burning while I listened to the timer go off multiple times. I was left alone for so long that I had to repeatedly call out, "Miss?" and "Excuse me?" before someone finally came back. I normally tint my own brows, so I wasn't planning on adding that service. However, I decided to treat myself since it had been a long time, and I agreed to a brow tint and dye. Unfortunately, the results were awful. My brows looked blocky, overly dark, and completely unnatural. I specifically asked several times if they would look natural, and although I was told the dye would stay on for 15 minutes, I became concerned and asked her to remove it after about seven minutes because I felt it was already getting too dark. My concerns were valid. After seeing how the tint turned out, I agreed to have my brows waxed--not because I needed a wax, but because the tint had been applied unevenly, without any real mapping or attention to shape. Unfortunately, that only made things worse. During the wax, my skin was burned, wax got into my eyebrow, and the technician had to ask another employee what she should do. As for my lashes, they're stiff, crunchy, and overprocessed. Even worse, the entire outer third of one eye was missed. The technician told me those lashes had been "stuck under the pad" and that she noticed it. If it was noticed during the service, I don't understand why it wasn't corrected before continuing. To make matters worse, my brows were **tinted and dyed before being waxed**, which can be extremely irritating to freshly waxed skin and isn't the order I would expect. I even questioned the process, but my concern was dismissed. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing beauty experiences I've had. I left with overprocessed lashes, uneven brows, burned skin, and results that looked nothing like what I requested. I cannot recommend this salon for lash lifts, brow services, or waxing.

I arrived for my scheduled appointment only to find the door locked. When I called, I was told to drive to their Somerset location instead, which operates under a different name, Akari Nails. It was confusing and inconvenient to only learn this after arriving. Wanting to give them another chance, I later made an appointment for a full gel set and pedicure and returned to the Manville location. The salon smelled strongly of mildew, and I was the only customer there. I specifically asked the technician to keep the length of my toenails and only reshape them. Instead, she cut nearly half the length off both big toenails and even used cuticle nippers to cut the corners of my big toes out. The pedicure was so poorly done that I left before even getting my hands done. I contacted the owner, sent photos, and requested a refund. Instead, she asked me to come to the Somerset location the following day so they could repair the damage with acrylic. After driving there in rush-hour traffic, I spent about 30 minutes waiting while employees called around trying to figure out who I was. They eventually put me on the phone with someone who told me I could either have my pedicure fixed or receive a refund. Since I had already made the trip, I chose to have it fixed. After waiting even longer with no resolution, I asked for the refund instead and was told there was "no way" they were giving me one. I then asked where the owner was, since she was the one who had called me the day before and asked me to come in. I was told, "She thought you were someone else." That response was unbelievable, considering she was the reason I had driven back. When I was finally helped, employees were recording me during our conversation, so I began recording as well. The technician who had originally botched my pedicure also arrived, repeatedly gave me dirty looks, and spoke about me with other employees. Using Google Translate, I understood enough of the conversation to know the comments being made about me were insulting and completely unprofessional. I was also repeatedly told, "This is the final time we're going to fix it for you," even though I had only asked for a refund. It was the owner who insisted I return. After two disappointing experiences, confusing business practices between two salon names, poor workmanship, unprofessional customer service, and the way my complaint was handled, I cannot recommend this business. I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau because I believe customers deserve better treatment and businesses should be held accountable when they fail to take responsibility for their mistakes. Literally embarrassing to attach the photos of my toes because they look THAT awful and unrecognizable. But i need you to see this
