I have had several experiences recently at this store. several weeks ago I was treated rudely by a jewelry employee who seemed irritated that I was waiting at her counter for assistance. Yesterday I was waiting in a long customer service line while the clerk folded bags and said "if you are in a hurry this is not the place to be because nothing is moving quickly here today" And then I went to the cosmetic counter where the clerk was not friendly and gave very little interaction, although she did assist with providing the product I asked for without much input. Very few registers were open. I will not be visiting the store often, for my browsing and leisure shopping, since I have plenty more friendly and professional options! read more

My daughter was in search of a zip up hoodie while visiting Wilmington , NC so we stopped into this Belk store because of our familiarity with this department store. We usually have no problem finding something because Belk offers a variety for the whole family, but we we did not have any luck with this store. First impressions..plenty of free parking, easy to find, lighting was not as bright and inviting (I brightened up my photos) store seemed dated , hard to locate a customer service representative (probably a staffing shortage like most places due to pandemic). The sales and discounts keep me coming back as you never know what you may find on Clearance but the general feeling of this location is just me. They do offer a in-store pickup after ordering online. I would definitely recommend that because you get a special parking spot and can get it right at the door to eliminate walking around the store. read more

Received the wrong pair of boots that I ordered online for same day in-store pickup. Ordered 2 pairs online and only able to get 1 pair. Sales associate was on her phone the whole time she was trying to get my refund figured out, even called over a friend of hers to look at something on her phone and completely pausing my transaction. When she finally got back to my transaction, she had to ask for help and was told I have to wait 30 minutes from picking up the item before refund can be done. read more

Belk has been around for years since I was a kid! I've loved it since. Now Belk has added more clothing lines such as Free People and more. Free People is a West Coast thing and when I went in and saw the clothing line right in the front I near passed out with excitement! The clothes are made here in the good ole USA ! Aside that if you have the Belk app there are so many coupons for saving extra 20 to 75 percent off of items in store. Sometimes the shoes are hit and miss for my size, however that's just a quick order from the app shipped home. Here lately there hasn't been that many people at the registers and I do feel frustrated walking around trying to find someone so I can pay. Hopefully that will get better. Doesn't deter me from shopping here at Belk . Surprisingly, Belk has started selling Gucci, Fendi and Louis Vuitton handbags. Years ago they didn't sell such items. They are used and come with authentication cards. Hefty prices which is to be expected for high end handbags. Don't forget to head upstairs either elevator or escalator for items as well. Men's clothing, women's lingerie, bras , cookware, bedding etc is located upstairs. read more

I'm an 18 year old, and I just so happen to work in retail, that being said, this was the worst customer service I have received in months. I needed a graduation dress and I found the perfect one. The only problem was that it was the only dress of its kind I could find, and it did not have a tag. So myself and my mom went to the register and upon telling us the dress did not have a tag, the cashier waited for us to tell her we still wanted it and then started complaining that she had to look it up, she couldn't find the dress, so she told us that we couldn't purchase it, she then continued to, without asking start to fold my moms suit up to bag it rather than leaving it on the hanger. read more

I stopped in to Belk last weekend to purchase my Clinique pressed powder. To sweeten the deal they had one of their specials where if you spend a certain amount you get a free gift. Of course my powder was $2 shy of the free gift. I added on a trio of perfumes to purchase for my mom. The reason I am giving the store a four out of five is because I have never been to a Clinique where they were not familiar with the pricing of products or what is in stock. I was with my girlfriend and for each product she was interested in they did not know what was in stock, how much it was, and for a particular product they didn't have a sample. They didn't offer to turn one into a sample so she bought it and it ended up being the wrong color when she got home. I'm a loyal customer of Clinique. They have the poorest selection of men's clothing. No Nike, Under Armor, Addidas...nothing. There was no running shorts, pants, shirts, non existent. The only things that were there (besides the entire store being taken up by woman's clothing and a large department that looked more outdated than a sears store) were clothing for grandpas oR overweight people. I've been living here my enttire life and before Belk was here there was a Macy's that had it all. EVERY TIME I COME there is nothing. You could find more at a goods will acrosss the street than coming to this place. Belk needs to get it togEther before they end up like sears. Department stores don't pay attention. Keep up with the clothing styles because there are huge amount of opportunities being missed for so many products. There is a demand and a need for them but instead you got a huge building taking up more land on earth for no reason but to sell blankets from the 1800's and clothing for grandmas to go to a babtest church with red velvet benches out yonder in the country knowing that got a year or two before croaking. I'm serious they had pin jewelry made out of fake pearls!?! This is definitely the place to come shop if your looking for a outfit to give to someone who is in a coma at a hospice but you may not fInd a good size...slim picking here. This is the better of the two Belk stores in Wilmington. Friendly staff and clean and well kept facilities and displays. Easy to find what you are looking for. Sometimes it's hard to find a cashier, but overall a good experience. read more

I'm from San Diego and we don't have Belk stores, so now that I've been living on the east coast for a while now, I've been able to see what they're all about. For most things, I would agree that this place is pretty expensive, but no more so than a comparable store, Macy's. Yesterday, I had the BEST experience in the jewelry department. My friend and I were looking for jewelry for our upcoming USMC ball. Not only were the women on the floor extremely friendly and helpful in helping us make a decision, the woman at the register was very nice and gave me an extra coupon she had for 20% off! While I'm more of a Target, Ross and T.J. Maxx kind of girl, I would definitely come back to Belk if I needed that special something. read more

The store opens at 10:00. I walked in with a return at 10:05 and only 1 person on the entire first floor was at a register. When I approached the cashier with my return (which was purchased on my Belk CC). She proceeded to open her register in front of me and counted.every.last.penny in that darn register before she processed my credit card return. Actually, she made an error at some point and her to recount it again. I understand your drawer needs to be correct. But what were you doing at 10:00 when you were supposed to be working? When the doors open for business, you should be ready to conduct business. This store lacks any type of professionalism! This store is a dinosaur and one step above Walmart. read more

The Belk family has a "teetering dinosaur" overall and the Wilmington store isn't helping the cause. When you have a bricks and mortar operation of this scale these days you better do it right. Our experience recently with this store and the Jonesville, SC, fulfillment center was at best an overall C-. Associates that were scarce in the store and when found they were half clueless. The fulfillment center sent us the towel that wasn't available in the store complete with a big black mark on it that looked like someone with filthy hands had picked our white towel off the shelf and stuffed it in the plastic shipping bag. Karen, the MOD at the store was helpful as was Miranda (the checkout person that finally helped us). I did a little bartering today at this Belk. The store looks very new and spacious However, the store buyer for this store is not the same as the ones in the Triangle. Very little selection especially in the nicer brands such as Tommy, Tommy Bahama, Nautica, etc. You would think that since it is next to Landfall you would have these selections. I guess Belk's is below the rich and famous. The staff was wonderful during my shopping spree! Give it a try so you don't have to drive all the way to the mall. read more

This store is amazing! The employees are always so friendly and helpful! The only problem that I have with this store is that the merchandise does not match the high end area that the store is located in! I also do not understand why they have a Women's section but do not carry Women's coats and sleepware. I have found many great deals here though...if you know how to shop, you can get wonderful prices! Please add a third floor and expand your merchandise! Would love to see prom dresses and formal gowns. read more

I am 71 years old and went this past Thursday during a big sale-nobody was working at almost every customer service station! I walked around the floor twice with my items before finding a sales person-that is ridiculous! I almost threw it on th4e floor and walked out. I have been shopping at Belk for over 40 years in various different cities but the service at your store is non-existant! read more
