A woman named Amber, who wore glasses, kept giving me and my family judgmental looks the entire time. At first, I thought maybe it was because of my bathing suit, but then I realized it was because my mom was speaking Spanish. That's when it hit me--she wasn't just staring, she was judging us for simply speaking our language. When we needed help at the self-checkout, I heard her mutter under her breath, "Ugh, Mexicans." I was honestly shocked. I've never experienced that kind of open racism before, and I never thought I would. It's disgusting that someone who treats people like that is allowed to work in customer service. No one--especially families just trying to shop--should be made to feel uncomfortable or unwelcome because of their background or language. People like her have no business working with the public. This location has introduced new electronic pricing tags on all of the shelves in their store. These prices apparently can change manually or based on predictions/algorithms according to an employee. If a product is selling frequently it can apparently trigger the price to raise same day. This is disgusting behavior from the Walmart corporation and I really hope this new model doesn't stick around long. There's a ton of other things that I hate about this store like the fact that half of the self checkout lanes are closed. But now I know to avoid this place at all costs. read more

Okay so it's been 1 full year since my last review of this particular location. I can't say it's gotten any better. So, here goes .. I decided to try the Walmart plus, I had it few years ago in Virginia and it was awesome! Moving forward this one takes the cake! I preordered my items the night before on Thursday to pick up at 3 -4 pm Got the message in app your items are ready. Whoohoo! Drive over park in the spot and whoa get another text your order is delayed 2 hrs ... Seriously!! I'm hotter than a crockpot by this time! So, we leave go home and wait. Got another message about hour and half later order is ready check in . We drive over again park in 2 along with several other cars who has been waiting. I'm not sure what in tarnation is going on here, but this is unacceptable! We've been sitting here and it's 8:27 pm yes you read correctly 8:27 pm from an order that should have been done at the time I selected. I do not recommend this location for the pick-up using the app. Just horrible experience. And they've came out with my groceries 8:48 pm smh sigh.... read more

Once again, this horrible Walmart disappoints me. I had to come to this location to get a pick up order for work. I literally had to drive around 4 times until a parking space for online orders opened up. Not because they were full, but because 75% of the cars had nobody in them. The people are just parking there being lazy and going in to shop. There was a rent a cop right there and he started following me rather than doing something about the parking places. I have never experienced this at the other Walmart in town. This place is such poor quality and it almost scares me to go here. It's that bad. read more

They opened up self check out, but only three registers. That two has a line of approximately 20 people. Management needs to be fired and additional associates need to be hired. People like crapping on Wal-Mart well, because they are Wal-Mart. This Wal-Mart is actually pretty nice. It's a super Wal-Mart so they have a huge grocery section, electronics, outdoors, clothes, etc.. You can get about anything you want here. The wine and beer selection here is actually pretty good for a Wal-Mart. There are several self checkout stations so the lines move pretty fast. I'm not a fan of self checkout when I have buggy full of items, but do prefer it when I have just a few items. Overall I recommend this Wal-Mart. Much better than most Wal-Mart locations I have been to. On another note, this Wal-Mart is right off Market Street, which is extremely busy. Trying to head back to downtown (turning left) is not going to happen. The normal exit from New Centre street means you are begging other drivers to let you in. I have found it easier to go around the back and take Bob King to New Centre to head back downtown. read more

This walmart for the past 2 months has been awful. To start off the self checkout has not been open once any of the times i have been there. I've gone at all different times from morning to 10:45 pm right before close and they are never open. The one time it was open there was only one and there was a lady working there who looked at me and my friend who was sharing a cart and said "is that less than 15 in a rude manner and i'm just like what does it look like there's 2 separate checkout stuff here. She made us leave when there was no one in line and go to another checkout. Even with always having the self checkout closed they don't have enough cashiers working the regular checkouts so the lines are always long and makes no sense to have them when they literally have 2 separate places for self checkout. I don't know who the manager is but they need to make some changes. read more

I ordered as a W+ member Thursday for a delivery, and they never showed. I cancelled and re-ordered for the next night, Friday, and guess what!?! They never showed. This has been my go-to store for delivery ONLY because my Porters Neck store doesn't deliver to Wrightsboro area. The worst of the worst. Shelves are not stocked, regardless of time of day, When you ask an employee to see if something is available, they say they'll check, walk off and are never seen again. This is not a one time issue - this has been going on at this store for years. To make matters worse, a lot of their products are now locked up, meaning you have to find someone to unlock the case to get your item. I'm not talking about high value items either - I'm referring to common household goods like shaving creme! This afternoon, i waited 15 minutes for someone to unlock a case to get a package of batteries - and cheap AA batteries at that. I gave up, asked to see the manager, and was told to "wait". I left the cart where it was and went across the street to Target. I was in and out in 10 minutes, At this store, no one has any concern for the customer's time. It is doubtful I will ever shop in Walmart again, but without a doubt, I will never so much as pull into the parking lot of this one. read more

I usually enjoy the convenience of shopping at Walmart, but this is the absolute worst Walmart I have ever been to. The service is tremendously slow every single time they could not care less about getting an employee to you when you press the buttons to get assistance in the aisles where EVERYTHING is locked up. Every single time I end up waiting 10+ minutes before I have to track someone down myself. With my longest being 30 MINUTES! At that point I just turned around and walked out of the store. Past about 9 or 10 they shut off all self checkouts so even if you're there buying 1 singular thing you have to wait for the 30+ minute lines. And even when the self check outs are open they have to have 1 employee watching each individual register so even though they have 15+ total self checkouts, only about 2 are open at a time. And to top it all off I have tried to call the location multiple times within the last few weeks to inquire about the availability of a product and every single time I have either been answered and immediately hung up on or have just never gotten through to anyone. Even after calling multiple times. Absolutely the worst environment and service I have ever had and I will tell every single person I know not to shop here. Terrible job training. read more

I defies all logic but Sigmon Rd location has made it practically impossible for customers to pay for their purchases. They have no cashiers and have taken 90% of self checkouts out of service. My curbside order was scheduled for pickup between 6:00 and 7:00. I drove in from my home 30 minutes away and arrived at 6:00. That's when I got a text saying my order was delayed by as long as two hours. I stayed in Wilmington for the two hours to wait. It's now 10:01, and there is absolutely no sign of my order. There is only one young lady delivering all of the curbside orders. She looks exhausted. I went in to complain. The lead pickup team person told me he has two people shopping and one delivery person and the store won't give him any more employees to help. That is just wrong. Obviously, I will not return to this store again. I will do what I can to encourage the young woman when she brings my groceries. It's not her fault. read more

I as a woman had the worst experience ever with Walmart on Sigmon Rd automotive dept. I am a retiree and knew I needed 4 tires which I saved up to buy. Choosing to purchase them from Walmart was a decision I have come to regret. I purchased the brand new tires from Walmart July 2018 and began having problems with the front passenger tire in November 2018. When I realised the tire had a slow leak I took it back to Walmart where first I was asked did I buy the additional coverage. When I informed them I hadn't they informed me they couldn't find the leak after which I had to call road side service to get it plugged. I took my car back last night and was told again they couldn't find the leak and after persistence they came back to inform me they found it but it couldn't be fixed and I would have to purchase another brand new tire. It's obvious to me Walmart are selling some of those bad tires I have been reading about companies selling. Tires that have a long shelf life and I feel these are the type tires they are selling to " women". So please be skeptical about purchasing brand new tires from Walmart.... read more

I always go to Wal-Mart to get my Spring planting supplies and flowers ! This year no different ! It helps me that they carry the correct flowers that can be planted at any given time , it keeps me from planting to early ! I always get extremely good service at this store in the Garden dept !! I guess it is your typical Walmart. Hard to find anything until you really get use to the layout of your (new) local Walmart. The employees are not helpful and only a handful of registers were open so the lines were pretty long. The place was clean and aisles were large enough to accommodate multiple people. The prices were decent. I only went here since I also needed home good in addition to my groceries. Think I will stick to non-Walmrt places for now on while in Wilmington. read more

I've recently moved to Wilmington NC from KY, I'm 62 yo man who broke his back in 3 places in a skydiving accident in 1995 and I am on pain meds for this reason...saying I have a bad back is an under statement.....I have an appointment in July to see a new doctor here in the Wilmington area, but until then my doctor in KY is still writing prescriptions for my medications, after I see my new doctor here, he will be writing prescriptions for my medications.....my prescriptions have already been filled at this Walmart Pharmacy on several occasions without any problems what so ever......until yesterday.....a pharmacist by the name of "Dave Cailler" said he didn't feel comfortable filling my pain medication because I am from KY and my Doctor is from KY.....I called my Doctors office back and they sent my prescription to another pharmacy and the filled without any problem.....this is my last visit to this walmart read more

With the exception of a few the staff at this store should all be replaced. The most unfriendly staff as a whole I have ever encountered anywhere. I shop at this Walmart all of the time.I practically know just about know everyone who works here.Even the new cashiers try to do there best but, they need to be a little bit more friendlier with customers.I don't have a problem unless I can't reach something that has been pushed to far back and I try to get help in that department and there is never nobody around to help you.Even if you page for a manager or clerk for that department ypu still get no help.I really think.that Walmart should hire more associates to help customers.I am not the only customer saying this.Other than than that.This Walmart is always kept clean and even the restrooms are always clean.I wouldn't even shop anyother Walmart because this is my favorite Walmart.Besides that I do have alot of friends that I know that work at this Walmart store.I also love Checkers to go and have my lunch also.I also know everyone at Checkers too.I have alot of great friends here at this store.This is the Best Walmart ever.I would definitely bring my friends to shop here.Keep up the great work.Walmart. read more

I went to Walmart on Sigmon rd. to get an oil change and there was not a single person in line. I asked Darren "when my car is finished will you page me?" He replied "No, we'll call you on the number listed!" That's fine, but 40 minutes later I went to check Bc he's said it'd be done in 20-30 and no one had calling me and of course my car was done. So, cool I was ready to pay but Then a lady that wasn't there before me just happened to jump line asked to check her tire pressure, Dean, am employee of TLE proceed to walk out the door neglecting everyone else that had been waiting and took 15 mins to return!! I watched him the entire time and the whole time he checked the pressure he also enjoyed a cigarette too! And when he finished with the lady he didn't return but yet finished his smoke first! All that would of been fine but I was in a hurry so watching that was kind of frustrating, not to mention the $34 oil change I paid for and didn't get NONE of the benefits Darren told me it would!! And my oil lights still on! Pretty sure a legit oil change would take the code a away like it has done every time before this experience. Along with that, I did not receive ANYTHING that I paid for, and being my oil light still is on I'm now wondering if they even took the time to change my oil, being that NOTHING else they told me would be done, WAS DONE!!! NOTHING!!!!!!! It's almost if they were acting like how middle school students would act when the teacher was off for the day! She said if we have some they are down there. Well they weren't down there so I search a few areas and found them no where around where she told me. Left and did some more shopping and needed help with fabric counter so I walked around to find someone to help me so I come across this rude ass girl again. I asked her if there was a problem. She says "No" with that same look on her face. I call the store and speak to a so called customer service mgr. I explain to her what happened and that the girls name is "Kari". She had the F--king nerve to tell me she couldn't believe that she would act that way. She is one of the best she has. Well customer service mgr if that is your best then I hate to see your worst. The mgr also said maybe Kari was having a bad day. WHAT. Check yourself KARI at the door. This Walmart almost cost me an engine. I had a tire replaced and an oil change. They did not replace the washer when they finished the oil change. 2 weeks later to the day my car makes a buckling noise when you ride in it and my dealer charges me an arm and a leg to fix it unsure of whether or not I will have to get a brand new engine. Basically, all of the oil drained from my car from this careless place of business not wanting to replace something they took off... cause parts of my car to rub together where they shouldn't have. Walmart has said they will pay for it but they are making me jumps through over between and under hoops, which I'm sure they still won't do it for. I don't have a lot of money so this hurts me. I spent the night crying wondering how I am going to get a loan for this. I 10/10 will never go to this Walmart again. I don't think I will ever shop at Walmart again.
