Black Bears Do Live Here. Belknap has gorgeous garden trails and the views are spectacular. Unfortunately the facilities are overdue for a renovation and the lady at the front desk is rude for no reason, as mentioned by so many other reviewers. Yes, we had a visit from a black bear yesterday around 8:00 am in site #20. We watched him as he clambered around just a few feet from our trailer. He walked all around the campground, following along a common guest trail. When we called to report it (we were excited) the lady told us flat out it was "impossible" and there has "never" been a bear sighting. In 50 years ? I was taken aback by her gruff attitude. For your family's safety, just be aware that black bears do live in Central Oregon and might stroll into this campground looking for a yummy picnic basket. read more

This place has such lost potential. It needs new ownership for sure. Broken down, out dated and neglected grounds and the lodge. I would love this place despite and inspite of horrible horrible treatment for a person traveling with a service dog. BEWARE. They are quick to judge and expect you are lying about your service animal. I am 65, my friend I met up with 68. Women traveling alone and separately, coming long distances. They tried to evict us at 8:45pm our last night due to minor complaint about my dog barking for 10 minutes. I refused and stood my ground as the prospect of suddenly traveling in the dark back home when we were headed to bed was totally unacceptable, unreasonable and unsafe for us. They called me a liar about my service dog and wanted me to tell them what my disability is!! Like they needed to judge for themselves. I offered in scheduling to show them the certification (but they apparently legally cannot ask for proof that I offered). Discriminatory and inhumane behavior towards a person in a protected class! BEWARE of this place! No compassion or humanity when it counts! I told them to call the police to remove us, but we were not leaving as evicting us at that hour and suddenly having to drive for hours on a mountain road (for a minor infraction) was uncalled for and I refused. Shocking to say the least. Disappointing as I have been visiting Belknap for over 10 years and they did this to me and my friend. They have no compassion or reason here. Really mixed feelings about this one. The good: the grounds are beautiful. The hot springs pool (particularly the upper one) was so nice and relaxing. The area is beautiful, with some amazing hiking and waterfalls nearby. The bad: our cabin was incredibly disappointing. I was prepared for "rustic." I was not prepared for grime all over the walls, unpainted patches, floors and baseboards that looked like they hadn't been cleaned in literally years, disrepair, and even a dirty sponge, completely with leftover food particles, in the kitchen. I would come back again if I was in the comfort of my own RV. It's a beautiful area and the hot springs really are so relaxing. But I would absolutely not recommend staying in a cabin. read more

Disappointing Customer Service We stayed at Belknap Hot Springs from 8/15-8/17 and, aside from these two encounters, had a lovely stay. Unfortunately, the interactions with the front desk manager left a very negative impression. First, I asked the front desk employee whether coffee continued to be made throughout the day because the coffee was out. I was told, in a rude manner, that I was wrong. Shortly afterward, she came over and discovered that one coffee maker was empty and the other had coffee grounds in it. It was frustrating to be dismissed rather than simply having my question answered politely. The second incident happened around 8:35 AM when we went into the lobby and were let in by a gentleman. The front desk manager then told us, in a frustrated tone, that the lobby didn't open until 9. I explained that this was my second negative interaction and that she could have simply said, "Hey guys, the lobby doesn't open until 9." Instead, she threw her hands in the air, raised her voice, and sarcastically repeated, "Hey guys, the lobby doesn't open until 9." It's unfortunate because we genuinely enjoyed our time at the property otherwise. A beautiful location and a lovely stay were overshadowed by two interactions that could have been handled with basic courtesy and professionalism. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because the way guests are spoken to matters just as much as the experience itself. read more

We fell in love with this resort before we walked through the Doors and even more when we continued to explore the grounds. We love hot springs and have been to many. Though we appreciate natural rather than pools as this one is. The pool was clean and in good working order. The grounds were fun to explore especially the secret garden. Also, I would say that this is a good starting point to explore the vast amount of hikes in the area. We hiked a few different trails and it was nice to come back and soak the aches and pains away. We stayed in the lodge which offered a continental breakfast. The breakfast was great and more than just a yogurt and pastries. Afterwards would would soak in the pool before really starting our day. I would have given 5 stars for this property however we didn't have hot water in the room. After our stay I reached out to management and the compensated us for the inconvenience. Would I go back? YES! Already planning it and looking forward to more adventures! read more

This was a very disappointing trip at a place I adore. Our site (t6) was awful. There was so much debris they had to come out to blow it out so we could put our tent down. The picnic table was buried in the dirt. A staff person helped us unbury it only to find out it was broken. He was going to come by and fix it the next morning but did not. It was unusable. The girl at the front desk told us the closest shower was over the bridge, across the parking lot and up the hill. It was not. It was next to our site. The shower door was hanging by one hinge and fell off while my friend was showering. When I showered, I had to pick the door up and move it to cover the opening for privacy. My friend had a large pile of very loose human feces with toilet paper on her site (t8). The staff was told many times but never came by to clean it. I was so excited to bring 15 people with me this weekend and it was embarrassing. Many had never been and won't be back. read more

I could have sworn I wrote a review for this place in the past. I am not seeing it. So here goes a new review, this one has no pics like I am sure my old one did. We used to come here before many people knew about it. It was really enjoyable to take a drive, no matter the weather just to take a soak. We started mainly to ease some aches, and pains I would get from fibromyalgia, and then I had ulnar nerve issues, which I ended up having surgery. Coming here really helped me in my recovery back then. We also had a travel trailer we used to bring here, which I really enjoyed, because you get to utilize the upper pool. You only get to use the upper pool, if you are a guest staying there. No day guest users allowed. We have also rented cabins, they are also really nice. I highly recommend taking a stroll through their secret garden area. It is truly magical. I know in the past people used to have issues with the staff...this was a few years ago. I feel like possibly there may be new owners or staff now? Because things seemed way different when we recently stopped in. At least a lot friendlier. So changed in a good way. I just wish I had all of the pics I remember having of the garden, and the upper lot from when we would camp. We stopped going here so much over the years, for one we sold our trailer, and two it became so popular it would get over crowded in the regular pool. I was glad we made a return. There is just something in the water that makes you feel renewed again. The whole property is just beautiful. No matter what time of year you go, you won't regret it. Disturbing Experience and Dismissive Staff Response I stayed at Belknap Hot Springs with my family for one night and was deeply unsettled by what happened during our visit. After checking out of our campsite at 11 AM--as instructed--we were told by the night clerk that we could continue using the pools throughout the day, which seemed like a generous and normal amenity. When I returned to the pool in the afternoon, I witnessed a man openly exposing himself on a lounge chair. This was not subtle or accidental--his genitals were completely visible, and the pool was full of families, young children, and teenage girls. I immediately went to the front desk to report it. Instead of responding with concern, the staff member I spoke with immediately questioned whether I was "still staying there." I explained that I had followed the instructions given by their own staff and was willing to pay for day use if needed. She simply replied, "There isn't day use," and told me to leave. No one seemed interested in addressing the actual problem or taking action to protect other guests. There was no apology. No indication that they would speak to the man. No concern whatsoever about the safety of the many children present. The response I received was dismissive and unsettling. I left feeling disturbed--not just by what I witnessed, but by the staff's complete lack of appropriate response. This is not how a resort should handle a report involving inappropriate exposure near minors. Unless measures are taken -- I won't be returning. I'm sharing this so that other families are aware and so that Belknap considers revisiting their staff training and safety protocols. read more

First off the grounds are absolutely lovely! The cabin we stayed at Camp Yale was clean and large. The only reason my rating went down is the kitchen. The Kitchen is an absolute disaster. First of all it needs serious renovating as the cabinets are falling apart. The "fully equipped kitchen" is anything but. Essential items were missing, pans were old teflon pans that were horrible scratched up with the base showing through. There were no dishrags or sponges provided for washing dishes - just an old dish brush. The customer service is totally lacking at this place. Pool was completely empty in front and tried paying for a soak with two other guests. Was told they weren't handing out day passes for the holiday (1/1) despite the fact no one was in the pool. We said we only wanted to be there for 30 minutes since I had to return to work, and the two women working the front desk were completely indifferent, even snickering at our request. They said there WILL be people eventually and that if they let us in we would be back next year and complain if we weren't let in again. Whoever let these pruny adult children run this place needs to rethink their employment. read more

unfortunately we didn't even get the opportunity to stay here. we paid $600 a night for two nights for a total of $1200 for a summer trip with friends. upon entering cabin 7 the smell of urine was extremely strong, there were rat droppings all over the entire cabin. on the kitchen counters, on the beds, on basically every surface. we went back to the lodge to speak with management about the concerns and they were extremely rude to us and said there was nothing that they could do and the cabin had been cleaned that morning. read more

Honestly it's the worst of both worlds. You don't get the freedom of camping, but you also don't get the convenience and amenities of a hotel. This place has a ton of rules you have to follow, they don't have wifi in the bedrooms, and there's no restaurants or grocery store to buy real food and drinks (their store only sells chips and soda; no alcohol or anything else). Also the "hot springs" there just seem like a giant chlorinated hot tub. I have a hard time believing there's any healthy minerals in there. This place has a lot of potential but they need to renovate. The hot tub is really old, our plumbing was spotty, and I personally think by 2025 a hotel should have WiFi in the rooms. read more

My wife and I have been going for 10 years now. We stay in one of the cabins every fall when the outdoor temperatures start to fall. For us it makes the mineral pool more enjoyable. Great place to escape the busy world. Relax read a book and enjoy the peacefulness. We stay for 3 days usually. The only downside is the furniture. The furniture is old and worn out and hard on our bodies especially after a few days. If there's anything I could change about the cabins, especially cabin #1 is the furniture. We were fortunate enough to get a new king size bed during our stay, that helped with the sleep comfort. read more

We recently stayed at Belknap Hot Springs Lodge & Gardens and, while the property and natural setting were beautiful, the customer service was very disappointing. We were told the continental breakfast ran from 7:45 AM to 8:45 AM, so we showed up right at 8:45. The lady working there said the kitchen was closed and only offered coffee. She was not friendly or understanding about it at all. After driving five hours and paying around $200 for one night (with a 4 PM check-in time), it was frustrating that we couldn't even get the breakfast we were told about. The night before, we also asked about a late checkout, and were told it would be fine if we just came and asked in the morning. When we did, the same lady who refused breakfast also told us no to that. It honestly wouldn't have taken much to make the experience better -- even offering a muffin or a little extra time to check out would have shown some kindness. The hot springs and gardens are gorgeous, but the hospitality and attitude from staff left a bad impression. A little friendliness goes a long way. read more

Rented room 11 . People that rented the room above must have been an entire sports team and were stomping and making noise all night. Absolutely the hardest mattress causes your hips to hurt with no fitted sheet on the bed. Had room with a bathtub and by the looks of it, it hasn't seen maintenance in a very long time. The faucet was leaking heavily all night and the caulking looks like it's been molding since the 80s. During sunset, you couldn't even see out of the windows. You couldn't even close one of the windows all the way They haven't seen window cleaning in a very long time and the cobwebs inside the window gave the room a very dirty feeling. And the mini fridge does not cool well at all. The pool is very rundown and seems like the skimmer isn't working because it was filled with a lot of bugs. And there was a lot of trash around the pool from careless guests. The area and park itself is filled with natural beauty, but you can definitely tell the management/maintenance staff and groundKeeping staff are definitely not doing their jobs. read more

I love soaking in the mineral-rich water of natural and developed hot springs, and luckily the Pacific Northwest is home to a large number of these wonderful sites. I've visited Belknap several times, and experienced a variety of their accommodation types, but I'll keep this review based solely on what a day-tripper would experience as they visit the resort. Nestled along the pristine McKenzie River in the heart of Oregon, Belknap Hot Springs couldn't be situated in a more beautiful setting. The first thing that struck me was a strong sense of tranquility at the site. The wind blowing in the trees, the water tumbling over rocks in the river below... honestly, just thinking about it gives me chills. Hold on to that feeling when you try to find a parking space. Honestly, it's been a challenge finding a place to park every time I've visited the resort. It was only recently I discovered there's a second parking area up above, as well as a second pool. The rustic resort is charming much in the way your great aunt Edna's beach house might be. It's seen better days. There are musty odors, shingles are falling, there's lots of moss and algae... but none of it is significant enough to keep me from visiting. The resort features multiple pools, one at the main lodge and one above next to the overflow parking. Both pools are generally crowded. With lots of families visiting the resort, you'll generally have to fight a kid or two to find the perfect spot. But the water is relaxing and well-worth any struggles you might encounter. Just bring ear plugs and lose yourself as the water eases your aching muscles. There is a lot to discover on the property from water gardens, trails, fascinating old bridges, to beautiful landscaping. Check out Belknap for yourself, just don't set your expectations too high. read more

We came here for a holiday weekend and had a great time. We brought our camper and stayed in their annex property called Camp Yale, which was fine. Large spaces, clean grounds and bathroom/shower facility, a tire swing and some trails. During our visit, we stopped by Belknap a couple times to see the gardens (beautiful) and soak in the hot springs-fed pool (loved it - almost as hot as a hot tub yet the size of a swimming pool). The location is also in close proximity to the McKenzie River trail, which was beautiful to hike. We'd definitely come back here again. read more

Where do I start?! No recycling bins! Spider webs, missing/broken screens, infestation of ants, spiders in the shower, dirty, moldy and utter disrepair at Cabin 8. Why have a rustic cabin surrounded by a chain link fence? The river view from the cabin porch is through a chain link fence. The lady at the registration was rude and unfriendly. We seemed to be a bother to her because we had questions. There was no WiFi in the lodge as the website indicated. Breakfast was not for folx in cabins, although we paid over $300.00 to stay here too! The pool was full of bugs. Not a single umbrella at the pool area. There's zero tree canopy shade at the pool. It's too bad because this place could be so magical. But for now, it a dumpster fire with preety dahlias. read more

I'm mainly writing this review as a PSA about the "walk in" campsites. The way it's described on the website - "walk-in, across from the lodge, close to the gardens" - is not accurate, IMO. They shouldn't be described as "walk-in" campsites, but rather "hike in" campsites, especially the ones that are furthest away from the lodge. I stayed on T17 and it is a LONG walk from the lodge AND the gardens AND the bathroom/the ONLY water spigot near the "walk in" campsites. Not only that, but there was only one other family out there when I was there. I could hear them, but couldn't see them, they were so far away. The campsites are VERY dispersed and it is VERY dark out there. On the day I checked in my steps app told me I'd walked 5.5 miles. I did no significant walking before checking in to my campsite. So that 5.5 miles was 4-5 trips from my car to my campsite - packing up my stuff took 2 trips, then I had to go to the bathroom and get water, which is almost all the way back to the bridge, and walking back to meet up with my other friends who were in the main part of the campground. I do a lot of walking in general so I'm used to knowing how far away something is. I'd estimate T17 is 1/2 mile from the bridge, and from the bathroom to T17 is about 1/3 mile. Try walking that in the pitch black, with nobody around, a woman alone - it's the stuff Dateline Specials are made of. Now I could see why the sites would appeal to people under certain circumstances. You do have a lot of privacy and there aren't a bunch of people around. But it should state clearly on the website that it is a LONG walk. When I think of a "walk in" campsite, I wasn't picturing 1/2 mile each way. And 1/3 of a mile to get to the bathroom. Also all the tent camping at Belknap is $40. $40 for the "walk in" sites is highway robbery. With how much work it is, and how far away the bathroom and water are, they should be $25, tops. Keep in mind too, you're not carting your stuff over a level, paved walkway. It's a gravely, winding walkway, with lots of rocks and tree roots. There isn't a ton of signage. If you don't have your map with you, Lord help you. I would probably return to Belknap, under certain circumstances. The grounds are beautiful. I wouldn't stay in the lodge. That is clearly outdated and not very well maintained. But if you have an RV, some of the RV sites are nice. And the drive up tent sites look nice as well. Just avoid the "walk in" campsite like the plague, unless you're 25, in amazing shape, don't watch any true crime TV and love paying way more for a campsite than you really should. read more

The rooms are clean, but the lobby furniture is worn, gutters are clogged, our window cranks were broken, and the pool badly needs to be drained and repainted. The pool is warm and such great views along with the therapy of the hot springs. I did not stay at the hotel but I came by twice while I visited my mom on the McKenzie. The girl that works at the front desk needs to smile more cause she is beautiful. Loved the float noodles but let tell the dam kids to share lol! This is a must visit if you have a chance. Definitely recommend cleaning and repairing the pool as parts of it are falling off! read more

Well, it's taken me a couple of weeks to write this. I was there, at Belknap Sunday Sept. 6th and Monday the 7th. The night of the fires. I had been fishing in the area on the upper-upper-McKenzie River. So I stayed at Belknap Sat. and Sun to be close to the river. We had a spectacular days fishing. Scenery was some of prettiest I've fished and that's saying a lot. Under-estimating at 50-fish days. After fishing, back at Belknap it was BBQ time and hot springs time. The place is clean. Lawns mowed. Lots and lots of colorful flowers. A Gardner's dream. They have a cool bridge that crosses the river. When I fished, we floated under this bridge. The bridge takes you across the river to the actual spring(s). I believe there are some hikes/trails on that side and a tent area and some cabins too. The actual hot "pool" is at the main building. It's a pool, but you can really feel the spring water. Hot and steamy. They also have a smaller less crowded pool on the upper part of the property. You need to make a reservation for that pool. Keeps the crowds down. Both pools could have used some attention and elbow grease. Certainly not bad or gross. But as example, upper pool had a large amount of leaves in the pool (both days). Lower pool tile is clean, but not new. The staff were always inundated but handled it well. Lots of smiles and great customer service. The lower RV spots are RIGHT ON THE RIVER. Upper RV are nice too. Lots of room. I actually had the last spot. They put me on lower level, but around the center park/bbq Area. A little awkward at first but ended up being nice. Had all services available to me. Here is where the 4-star+ RV resort earned a 5-star. It was Monday, my last day fishing after a fun long week in Oregon. A wind storm was supposed to come in and blow us out. Winds held down until the very end of the day. Fishing was crazy good again. But the winds...they were different this time. I was up until 1 am or so with the wind. Wicked wind. It felt like my RV was getting punched and kicked. There were fires now in Oregon, not just California. Lots of smoke last two days. It was getting very bad. I almost left in the middle of the night. Lots of folks had left earlier from the smoke. But the winds were so bad I didn't want to risk a tree falling on me. Low-and-behold, 2:35 am came the knock on the RV to evacuate. The Belknap folks were rousting they campers to get moving. Fires in the canyon. I was a bit freaked. Pitch dark. Had my RV set to and hooked up to services. When I asked where to go they yelled "go left". Wise choice. I was clear and on the road within 25 min. It turns out the fire was from a downed power line at the bridge where my guide and I took out earlier that day. We were only a short distance up river. Very lucky to have gotten out alive. Thank you to Belknap for remembering to roust MY RV :) I will return. Once the fires die down. Very clean. Great spring water baths. RV on the river. read more

Beautiful setting right next to the McKenzie River with moderate white water sounds adding to the ambiance. As others have said, don't expect a luxury hotel, it's pretty rustic. It has been about a year since we went there, but the WiFi is non existent in campground area and very poor even in the lodge. I have no idea why they don't do a simple and inexpensive upgrade. Probably the worst internet I have experienced. I know you are supposed to just enjoy nature, but it would be nice to have the option. read more

The hot springs pools are really nice. Good temps and good amount of space. The resort is pretty shabby. Furniture and decor is dated and not well kept. Breakfast was pretty lame. No fresh fruit at all and no oatmeal or cereal and only sugary juices to drink other than coffee. Guests could only get one towel per day for spa. One woman at the front desk was super rude and crabby every time we interacted over the 2 days. Grounds are nice and the area is gorgeous but the resort has lots of rules and doesn't feel very welcoming.The internet on site is almost non existent and doesn't work in the lodge rooms at all. They need a stronger router and/or boosters for the lodge. read more

Belknap used to be a special place. This is not the place it once was that you remember. I've given them a lot of my money and time over the past few couple decades probably over 50 times. Arrived there at 3:30 PM for the day after a long drive, walked the secret garden and walked around the property, went to the car to change and came to check in to the pool at 4:58 PM The lady up front said sorry no walk ins after 5. We told her it was just about to turn 5 and I drove an hour and a half and she repeated no walk ins after 5. She was just rude. Her clock literally said 4:58 lol. There were 2 people in the pool. I don't normally ever care about this kinda stuff, but this is a really bad look on your business. You can do better. Instead of being nice, front desk lady black hair choose to ruin days instead. Absolute 0 compassion. Drove a hour and A half to be told you can't go in. This place used to be fun. 2/10 stars and the 2 is because of the beautiful McKenzie river. So if you like rustic, dated and possible bugs in your room, then you'll be just fine here! I, however, do not like those things. I loved our room view, I loved walking the grounds and the pool felt great! But it started with the ant on the window sill, spider on the ceiling, lots of small flies congregated in a corner by the bed, something crawling across the floor at night. Room temp Doesn't get below 70 per the thermometer but ours was an almost uncomfortable 73, so I can't imagine on a hot day what temp it would get to. The bathroom floor was dirty in the corners, actually all corners were dirty. Thankfully we brought our own blankets because their blankets and bedding were old and stiff. The mattress SUCKED! Felt every spring and movement. WiFi available in the lobby but kind of almost makes it to your room. The young girl at the front desk, very sweet and helpful! The older lady, per the previous reviews, not so friendly but is fine. I asked her for 2 extra towels for the room and she asked how many people are in my room? Almost annoyed that we would need extra. I said 2 but we need some for our hair. So we followed her to where they are stored and they came out of a factory plastic bag. Yay! No one is at the front desk from basically 9pm to 9 am so if you need something between those hours, you're out of luck! Will I be back? No. But it is nice for a day trip! Although the grounds are well maintained and scenic, three things will keep me from going there again: 1. They don't tell you over the phone or on their website that the $10 per hour , ONE HOUR is ALL you're allowed for the whole day. 2. The public pool was full of rust. It was pretty disgusting, all the way to black stains. We read some bad reviews. Sorry rich folk- we loved it here! Maybe if you're accustomed to exclusively Marriott hotels.. Room, hotel & grounds were clean. Staff was super nice, friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable. The pool is fed from the hot springs and we believe the water also runs underneath the hotel, the tile floors were warm! Day visitors must exit the pool by 6pm, so it felt more "private" afterwards. The lodge is not huge and had a nice bed & breakfast vibe to it, we encountered the same guests often. *Wifi only works in the lobby. *Drinking water is well water, be bought a gallon prior. *Continental breakfast included. They have convenience foods/frozen burritos, Ramen cups, snacks available for purchase when the front desk is open. But no restaurant and nothing close by. The RV sites looked beautiful as well. We absolutely recommend and would return. read more

Called to ask for information about a stay while on trail as I needed a quick solution for a very tired hiker in our group. They didn't have any openings. Not a problem, but it was the way the woman on the call handled the conversation that makes me never want to stay there when they do have availability. Very terse, seemed put off by my call altogether and when I asked if we could camp anywhere else on the property and that I would pay, she abruptly to me a firm no, you cannot stay anywhere else on our property. I thought, OK, I'll just ask about other places close by thinking she would be happy to offer local advice. But no, she said she only knows an out lodging at the hot springs. On the flip side, I called the shuttle company that took us to the top of the trail and asked if she knew of anything nearby...not only did she have several recommendations, she called a campsite and asked the host to hold one for us. This is why I am rating the hot springs so low...they made no effort to extend themselves beyond the very bare minimum of what is expected. And trust me when I say, I would assume they would do the same for every other experience if I had stayed. No thanks, I'll pass and make sure to tell others about my experience as well to help them avoid the negative attitude and experience. read more

After seeing so many negative reviews I felt compelled to leave one with my experience a week ago. This trip was a girls weekend getaway with my two best friends. We arrived on Friday night about 5pm. Check in was quick and the front desk explained everything about the stay, property, WiFi, breakfast, pool hours, tv, rules etc. here is the thing though... if you take the time to look at the website, you will know most of this coming in. I had never been here, yet knew what to expect coming in simply by doing a little research on my part ahead of time. The lobby area is very inviting. Lots of little sitting areas and I appreciated they have a little store with snacks and drinks. It is only open until 8:45ish so plan accordingly. Again, I knew coming in that we were not anywhere close to a huge store or even a place that would be open for business late, because I researched ahead of time, so we brought several things with us. The room we stayed in was a king with a separate queen in another room. This room, and I suspect all the rooms, are older both in decorations and facilities. Seriously no big deal because they were comfortable, clean and had everything we needed and we were there for the hot spring and the property. If you walk around downstairs and look at the photos you will see this place has been here for a long time. People coming in expecting five star accommodations are going to be disappointed and frankly, if it is not up to your standard bring your overpriced RV and hook up to the amenities and enjoy the pools or, just don't come. The lodge pool was the only one we used because it was convenient to go right back to the room. It is not huge but it is large enough, well lit, great temp and beautiful to soak in at night. It was a nice change to soak in a concrete pool vs natural floor hot spring. Way less mystery stuff in my suit. There were times it was busier than others but never felt so completely crowded you couldn't move around. The other pool was smaller and definitely seemed a little more crowded especially at night. Breakfast was great to have on site considering where you are in relation to options. It was not a knock you over wow meal but it was abundant. One hot item,either a microwaveable breakfast burrito or oatmeal, and three other items. You could choose from an egg, bagel or toast, yogurt, applesauce or a muffin. The coffee was great and honestly all we cared about in the morning. My only criticism is the set up in the breakfast room. They have the service area and the coffee, toaster and microwave in the same area so it causes a huge bottleneck of people trying to get their food, heat stuff up, toast things all in the same tiny space. It is exacerbated by this not being a self serve situation with the food. It would be easily solved by simply moving the toaster, microwave and coffee to another place in the breakfast room and maybe bringing in another microwave. It's ok though because we found a secret microwave for morning two and it was way better! There are also microwaves in the room so if you use some critical thinking, you can figure it out. Yes, they want to see your room key, yes they know how many in your room because breakfast is for lodge guests only. You can't blame them for having a way to verify you are a lodge guest people. I saw lots of complaints about the WiFi and the tv situation. Again....look at the website and come prepared. We had no issues with the WiFi and it actually worked in our room. My friend had a business meeting and was able to take it in a quiet area of the lobby with no issues. We actually loved that they have dvd selections for you to choose. Now that we know their selection, which isn't bad, we will plan ahead and bring some of our own next time too. Overall this stay was amazing and I would go back in a heartbeat. Improvement is needed all over. The staff is not welcoming & even very rude to the customers they depend on. The facilities are extremely outdated & dirty. We will NEVER go there again. read more

I was a little afraid about my stay because of bad reviews but I'm glad I went ahead with my visit. The property is beautiful and I came home well rested. Room: My lodge room was clean and comfortable. It was basic. If you are looking for fancy, this isn't it. I'm pretty mellow and found the room to be more than acceptable. I had a lovely view of the river. Hot Springs: The upper pool is where I spent my time. It was a bit busy but not unbearably crowded like the lower pool. The water was nice and I like how the pools are large enough to move around and soothe my joints. The water does have chlorine and I wouldn't recommend this place to people sensitive to chlorine. I found the water to be acceptable and soothing. Food: The breakfast is basic and nothing to write home about but it was fine. The store in the lobby has some snacks but definitely bring your own food. There are a few restaurants within 10 miles. I didn't try any. read more
