Comfortable cabin on the pristine Metolius River…read more The Metolius River is a pristine and gorgeous river, and these cabins are located only yards from the river. The cabins are comfortable and lovely with high quality furnishings and well-equipped kitchens, as well as small decks looking out toward the river. The cabins are quite close to each other, so one hears one's neighbors conversations and activities. Although the resort is advertised as having a no pets policy, and there are many signs on site regarding this, the policy is not being enforced. There were at least 2 dogs staying on the property, and several others passing through or visiting guests. Some of the dogs were permitted to roam the property freely and the owners were not consistent about cleaning up after them, so you had to watch where you stepped in the yard, to have an occasional visit (whether welcome or unwelcome) and to listen to barking. We found this to be unfortunate, and to detract from our enjoyment of the site. The location is great, close to some nice hikes and not too far from Sisters and Bend.

There's a fancy (expensive) restaurant on the inside. We then proceeded down to the boathouse for the casual restaurant, hitting it mid-afternoon so it wasn't too busy. It's fun inside and has a good sized menu. We got fish sandwiches plus fries (expensive - I think it was $22 for the sandwich and $7 for fries), and our little one got a grilled cheese and a freshly squeezed lemonade. We sat out at a table on the dock. The fish sandwiches, apart from being really big, weren't that good. They fry them with the skins on - why? And they really didn't have much flavor. Fries were...fries. Grilled cheese also wasn't anything to write home about. Lemonade was really good. So all in all, I enjoyed the experience but I don't think I'll ever feel the need to return.

She even called us to tell us about a road closure and good places to park before we arrived. The location is great and within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we had to get back on the road. lol They didn't provide facial tissues or lotion, so keep that in mind when you plan your stay.

From the grounds (which are exquisite) to the service (unbeatable) - it was truly a weekend to remember. We rented out the entire property and all the cabins. Rachel and her family were there every step of the way- no detail was too small. On the night of our rehearsal, my dress broke. Her husband scavenged the property for 30 minutes to find the safety pins and rig me back together! Our friends never stop talking about this adult camp. It was such a fun way to spend time together. The property is stunning and our pictures look like they're from a magazine. They have great relationships with all the vendors which really helped smooth out the planning. And they always let you come back to say hi and revisit the property. I couldn't recommend a place more. We will certainly be back to visit and rent the cabins for our anniversaries!

Speaking of meals, this place has amazing food! Catered to the brides's liking, the appetizers, lunch and dinner was an assortment of fresh green salads, roasted seasonal veggies, crab cakes, wild rice, roasted lamb and chicken skewers, roasted duck, grilled trout, pickled cucumbers and to top if off, continental breakfast was served every morning. This place is a foodie's heaven. If I lived near by, I would eat here once a week just for the homestyle cooked food! Just when we thought the afternoon reception was over, just after 6 PM, they served us the leftovers! I NEVER had this type of experience before! They also cater to special diets, for people like me with sensitive tummies. I felt spoiled and blessed to have had such unbelievable meals catered just for us! Staff was absolutely fabulous; helpful, kind and friendly. While we did not utilize the pool, it looked to be very clean and convenient. Would have given 5 stars, but there is no gym and our room was next to a "staff only" area and the night staff was pretty noisy during our first night. Definitely recommend this place and would stay again.

And you're really close to an amazing view of the Three Sisters Mountains. The rooms are comfy, open, and spacious. I opted for the Deluxe King Suite with Kitchenette and loved it. The bed was very comfortable, and I felt right at home here. I even saw some deer hanging out next to the property, which I see often at home. This property also has a courtyard area with a fire pit, hot tub, and cold tub. My air-conditioned room had 2 TVs, one for each room, which was nice. The free, Wi-Fi was also nice, but the extra touch was the various cables they had in the room--great for people who forget to bring that one thing they really needed. I would definitely stay in this establishment again.
