I've lived here since December 2023, and love it. The location is perfect, close to great walking trails, excellent shopping options, and just a 5-10 minute drive to/from the Larkspur Ferry Terminal. Some apartments also offer an incredible view of Mt. Tam. My apartment has a great layout, nice appliances, and solid structure with good sound proofing as compared to other apartments I've lived in. Tom has been the manager since I've moved in and is so friendly and helpful. Luis and Julio (maintenance team), are also incredible, proactively keeping the community in excellent condition, and always happy to help when I have a maintenance need in my apartment. read more

I moved here to downsize and try to save money (imagine that in Marin) and while the apartment is tiny and a lot of money for the size, the building is pretty sound and the layout and appliances, etc are good. Thomas has been very helpful with move-in, holding packages for me when I was traveling, answering emails, etc. However, he has zero authority to do much else. Example, within one year, our building was out of hot water three times, once for multiple days. One night in a hotel was offered to be covered but nothing for anyone who couldn't go to a hotel. Absurd. The property is very loud if you face the courtyard - all hard services means two kids playing sound like 20. The carpet in the hallways was replaced with fake wood flooring, making the hallways an echo chamber. And today, I found out that my bike was stolen from the garage. I really wanted to like it here and was excited to live here and be near the walking path and stores, etc. Now I cannot wait to move out. read more

I've lived at Bell Mt. Tam since July of 2024 and it has been a wonderful experience living here. I moved here from Las Vegas to Marin for work and as you can imagine, Vegas and Marin are quite different in so many ways. However, since I've moved here, I've developed really friendly relationships with Tom (Property Manager) and Luis and Julio (Maintenance Crew) as well as several of my neighbors. Anything that I need, Tom, Alex and Luis are super attentive and very helpful. I've never had any issues living here and the area is beautiful, safe and convenient to walking trails, shopping centers and the freeway. Wanted to let people know how pleased we are with Julio and Luis our wonderful maintenance crew here at Bell Mt. Tam . We have been here for six years and they are the best. Yesterday Julio did two jobs for us, a leaky valve in our toilet and a replacement of our living room blinds. He fixed the toilet quickly and maintained the space cleanly. The blinds were a different story. They could not be repaired and a replacement would have to be ordered taking three weeks. Julio saw our disappointment and came up with a solution. He disappeared into the bowels of the supply room and found a boxed up box of blinds that measured exactly right. After helping move all the furniture he replaced the blinds and put everything in its place. Great job as always. read more

Horrible horrible horrible ! Lady at front desk has the worse attitude possible and is completely useless when it comes to resolving any issues. Office is never open and no one ever answers the phone. Whole complex smells like dog pee and feces. For $4000 a month you're better off, at a hotel 5 stars read more

It's really upsetting what's happened at this property. I originally had a very positive experience at this place but after the lease end process I have had a huge change of heart about this place. We lived on the property for two years and had a great experience until the Maitnence manger quit. We stayed because at the time the manager Tom had been great to us and we had liked the way the property was managed. We decided to move to a two bedroom and got a roommate as the rent was $4,600. The day we moved in we found the kitchen sink was leaking and garbage disposal was broken. That took a week to fix since they didn't have any Maitnence staff which was the case for months. Among this there were these other issues; The sink was leaking and the garbage disposal was not working which needed to be replaced and then had to be fixed again before the end of the lease. The windows in the living room leaked and puddled water under the couch which needed to be fixed. The door was painted incorrectly and subsequently had to be repainted multiple times. The deadbolt on the door broke multiple times and caused my girlfriend with a broken foot to be stuck in the apartment 3 different times, in which case we had to make an emergency maintenance after months of not having maintenance to get that fixed. We had challenges with our parking space access and people always seemed to be using the spot that we paid for sometimes multiple nights in a row. Management did nothing about it when asked to help. We were also missing blinds in our bedroom for months which went unnoticed until we had a long conversation about it to management. Along with the fact that multiple of my packages were stolen on multiple occasions and management did nothing about it. Hundreds of dollars of tools and other items disappeared. Let alone the building 5 fire pit and barbecue never worked for the 2 years we were there, and that was a big selling point of our building. Let alone there were some non friendly dogs that were let off leash and injured a few and some that got in the face of our dog despite the rule that dogs had to be leashed. Even when it was brought to their attention by multiple tenants. We eventually had a conversation with Tom and Alex as it was unacceptable that we were paying $4,600 a month and had a laundry list of issues with this "luxury" apartment complex. Tom assured us he would take care of us and ether waive the $500 transfer fee to a new apartment or get us our security deposit back. Color me surprised when we left our place and got the move out statement and they told me I owed $787! What a joke, I tried emailing Tom the property manager and he basically ghosted me and never responded or called me back for 10 DAYS. I called and talked to Alex who basically did nothing about it and Tom is basically charging us to replace the entire carpet in the master bedroom as we had a service dog living with us. Something we never had to do at our old unit which somehow we had to do now. Terrible management, and empty promises. If you like overpaying for apartments, that come to you trashed. Then have to pay for it with your security deposit feel free to live here, especially if you hate having money. Oh also Tom always says not to worry about cleaning the apartments because no matter what they will charge you out for it. Look where that got me! read more

When we first set foot in this place in late 2020, it was a property owned by Tam Ridge. The main reason we moved there was the proximity to my wife's work at the Marin Hospital, which was a huge benefit during the pandemic due to her 12-hour shifts. Unfortunately, the property was abruptly sold to Bell Mt. Tam, whose immediate focus on cost-cutting measures signaled a significant shift in its upkeep, Within a few months of their takeover, the place began to crumble, starkly contrasting with the vibrant community Tam Ridge had fostered. The ineptness of consecutive new managers and the elimination of all the former great staff left the place in disarray. Within a few months after the takeover, vagrants and vandals took over the by-now unsecured place and, going unchallenged, started to threaten the residents. The shortsighted cost-cutting decision to cancel the outsourced security firm worsened the situation. As vandalism worsened, they shut down every paid-for amenity as a self-serving solution, yet they continued demanding full payment for the no longer provided amenities. Security concerns persisted for months, with the management's lack of attention to detail exacerbating the situation. The prolonged unrepaired gate, for instance, made the premises extremely vulnerable, leading to incidents such as our bike being stolen in broad daylight. The never-disclosed chemicals dumped in the pool by vandals posed a serious health risk, necessitating a cleanup with workers wearing protective gear that resembled spacesuits. That type of city-mandated cleanup showed the seriousness of the harm caused. The lack of communication and proper disclosure of the hazardous substance in the pool raised concerns about our own safety, as well as that of many other families and children. As these issues worsened, the new owners were busy drafting a new lease that removed many agreed-upon amenities and added provisions permitting them to make borderline illegal revisions. An example of a new clause of the revised lease, should we have signed it, would have enabled them to take our photos and videos to use them as they please in their marketing campaign. Though we had our independently metered PG&E account, their added billing, a purposely convoluted system, allowed them to charge us for many bogus and extra utility bills every month. Via such extra bills, they would charge the existing tenants for ever-increasing empty apartments' and their common area's utility bills (that extra imposed cost would come to hundreds of dollars of additional monthly fees). Another was Velvet Living, an idiotic idea that required piling up unsightly garbage outside one's apartment door for a day or two until they would send a minimum-wage person to come by at 8:00 p.m. (maybe) and put it in the trash bin, located a few feet away from the apartment door (this was an imposed service we never used and yet paid for, even though we repeatedly requested to opt-out--this service cost us near $1,000 for the duration we were there). Endless Demand for 5-Star Reviews was how a repair may get done. We waited two years for a washer and dryer replacement, which we were told by Nick, who later lost his job as many others did, was on backorder. Ultimately, it was never replaced since we refused his/their demand to write a five-star review for their worse-than-horrible service (such demanded reviews were used to lure and mislead the new unsuspecting tenants). However, the final punch for us was the fine print in their revised lease regarding using our images in their marketing campaign. Despite many attempts to convey that this demand was an invasion of our right to privacy, their response was a short note: sign or move out, which resulted in us moving out after four years. Moving closer to the hospital, we acquired a large waterfront place and moved out. Once we moved out, after three months of waiting for our unreturned security deposit, upon inquiring, we were told that not only was our deposit used for unbilled quarterly utilities, but we also still owed more money for some extra fees. As the other Yelp reviews show, many other tenants write about similar issues, including unreturned deposits. Such reviews further prove the extent of Bell Mt. Tam's dishonesty and systematic unethical business practices. read more

Avoid Bell Mt. Tam at All Costs! I had a very negative experience living at Bell Mt. Tam for 4 short months while my house flooded in our recent winter storms. The staff is incompetent, unresponsive, unhelpful, and the property is poorly maintained. The "on-site property" management doesn't communicate anything (including closing the pool for 4+ months) and doesn't have any sense of urgency. Prepare to hear non-stop beeping from smoke detectors all night long that don't get fixed, garbage in common areas, random water shut offs, appliances that break, wrong parking spots assigned to you, random closures of amenities, and literally no communication from management. read more

Nick, the new maintenance engineer is great! Since he came on board, the pool and hot tub have been stellar (really, really important for my physical therapy and a much welcomed improvement). And, when we had an issue with our smoke detectors, he got right on it, kept in communication as promised, and worked diligently to resolve the issue in the midst of the holidays. Nice place to stay in a gorgeous area of north bay but most props go to Nick the maintenance guy. He works his ass off to provide for the entire complex and whenever I see him around he is hard at work. He goes so far as to give his personal cell number in case we need something off hours. He even offered to take our dog out to get some air and go to the bathroom while my boyfriend and I were at work. Overall the nicest human being. Can't say I've lived anywhere else with such a nice, efficient, and competent maintenance crew. read more

This place was great when they were Tam Vista, but when Bell Mt. Tam took over, slowly, the place crept into things getting in disrepair (pool, grills), and dog shit literally everywhere. They say they have a breed policy, but they have some vicious ass dogs there and they don't do a damn thing about it. The manager is almost impossible to get ahold of and then she flakes out on nearly all appointments. Note that my move-out inspection was 100% clear. However, when I left, I saw they tried to charge me nearly $4000 for leaving about 10 items (empty clothes rack, nightstand, a bag of clothes, and a few planters on the balcony.). They also double-charged me utilities that were paid with the December bill. My girlfriend lived in an apartment two doors down and when she left they also charged her 2x for utilities that were already paid and a cleaning fee- trust me, she lift that apartment nearly in move-in condition. read more

The Bell Mt. Tam apartments is a beautiful community to live in. Since the new manager Victoria has started the property has flourished. Not only does she care about the property she makes me feel that she cares about the residents as well. She has taken care of community concerns regarding property parking, cleanliness of the area and more importantly has been all around very welcoming in the office. She has been very efficient in the short time she has been here and the response time to any maintenance or property concerns is always with in 1 business day. I am very grateful to live in a beautiful community and hope to spend many more years here. read more

This place was great when it was Tam Vista and when Rowan ran things, but the management is awful now. They are more concerned about throwing money at unnecessary improvements. They advertise their great amenities, but have closed the pool for 5 months with no sign of opening before Summer - excuse after excuse. We pay $4300 for a 2 bdrm and decided to renew our lease because of the pool. It's full of water and looks beautiful, but we are not allowed to use it anymore. Be aware! read more

Run down apartments, incompetent yet authoritarian management, angry tenants, vicious dogs. Come see it all here at Tam Ridge apartments. For just 5k a month for a tiny two bedroom. The pool and hot tub are closed because somebody used it after hours - yes, we all have to suffer because someone broke the rules. Andy's market closed because students from Redwood were stealing too much. The management treat us all like school kids. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for a place to live in Corte Madera. read more
