We were so happy when we realized that the same photographer at Edwards would be doing photos for us. She is a baby whisperer and the shots she takes are beautiful. It doesn't even look like they are taken in a hospital! We ordered a canvas and can't wait to put it up on our wall! I see quite a few complaints about the subscription. We never signed up for a service with joy parenting club but they automatically enrolled us and now we are getting charged subscription fees. This is taking advantage of automatically signing up tired parents of newborns for a subscription that was never requested. We explicitly refused this during our photo shoot and they still found a way to sign us up, probably because they get a kickback. Buyer beware. They took pictures last year of my baby in the hospital and sold us a package. There was a yearly subscription they added to the transaction which was never mentioned at all during the transaction. Prentice Women's Hospital contracts with Bella Baby to take photographs of your newborn in hospital. They must work out of the hospital or something; the employee from Bella Baby calls to set up an appointment and then visits your room for photos. I'm not sure if it's different for weekend vs weekday births, because I had my daughter on a Sunday morning and they called Tuesday morning to ask to come by shortly. That was pretty annoying; they gave me about an hour so I didn't really have much time to kinda wake up and prepare anything. When I asked if they could come by the next day (Wednesday) they said that that day (Wednesday) they'd have to photo the babies that were born today (Tuesday). So... not sure why they were able to wait two days before contacting me if they were so quick to photograph otherwise but ok. The guy who came Wes there for about fifteen minutes and took about twenty photos. I did buy them because they were the first professional photos of my daughter and she did look adorable for sure. They don't use any props or anything the way you might see for studio newborn photos or something; they'll really only do a few poses of the baby in the hospital blanket and whatever you've dressed the baby in. I will say that the dude who took the photos did a great job swaddling her--he did a few different types of swaddles, and after he left I was afraid to unwrap her because it was literally the first time she'd slept in the hospital bassinet for more than a minute or two. He also quieted her down when she got a bit fussy so I made note of the technique he used to do that to add to my own toolkit. read more

Their entire business model is built on misleading pricing, hidden fees, and a shady subscription trap that is nearly impossible to cancel. Hidden Subscription Fees & Impossible Account Access One of the most infuriating parts of dealing with Bella Baby Photography is their dishonest billing practices. They sneak in a recurring monthly charge, which they do not disclose clearly at the time of purchase. The worst part? Good luck trying to cancel it. There is no clear way to access your account or stop the charges. Their website is a mess, their customer service is unresponsive, and their policies seem designed to trap you in endless payments for services you never agreed to. I must say that my pictures are amazing. My biggest frustration at this point is trying to cancel this reoccurring charge that I was not aware of. I understand we signed permission for the photos and in that contract hidden somewhere was something about this recurring charge for some kind of membership. I was at the hospital with 3 hrs of sleep being asked if I wanted to have pictures done of the baby. Love the pictures and don't regret that but I did not catch all the fine print. Lesson learned! Wish I could leave a zero star review. I was under the impression the photographer would call ahead of time and schedule time to come by, that did not happen as she showed up while we have nurses and other hospital personnel in the room and insisted we needed to schedule some time with her ASAP. We book a time 2-3 hours later, again we end up having other hospital personnel in the room doing actual important things but she insists it won't take look and lingers until she can start the photo session. When she came back a few hours later to sell us the photo package was the cherry on top. Again, not a good time as we are both exhausted from a long day of taking care of our newborn and what seemed like endless things to take care of but she insists it won't take long and whips out the sales packages and says buying them online later would cost $40-50 more (wish I had a way to verify this). We only ended up buying something as a relative wanted us to get it as a gift from them, otherwise I would've asked her to take a hike. Pictures were okay - nothing super special, but nice to have the memories regardless. In my opinion the photos were overpriced for what they were (which is why it took months for me to finally decide to buy them). But then I was signed up for Joy Parenting, and then charged 3 months later. It's honestly disgusting that they are preying on new parents, and signing you up for a service you didn't ask for. I've been trying to cancel my account with Joy, and have texted and emailed Joy Parenting directly several times with no help. I am escalating to my bank. Sure it's only 25$, but it's the concept that's so frustrating. I didn't even ask for that service or ever use it. Get your own photographer and DO NOT use this scummy scam of a service... Editing to add since I can't reply - i understand Joy Parenting is a separate sister company, but the only reason I ever got signed up for their subscription, was because my payment information was automatically shared with them when I purchased newborn photos through Bella Baby Photography. I received the reminder emails just fine from Joy, as well as all the marketing emails, and check in emails from Joy, but when I try to cancel my account, by reaching out, I cannot get any help. There is no option on the website to cancel your account - it tells you to reach out via email, then they don't answer their emails. The fact that your company is associated with Joy, and your company is the direct reason I was charged for a subscription I didn't want is the reason this review is here. I paid over $80 for 6 small pictures. When they came the photographer used a filter or did some editing. Picture of daughter kissing baby, her hand is completely dark gray. Like zombie. Meanwhile her face is normal color. I showed to a friend and she was like oh my gosh what did they do her hand? The two photos of the baby they changed his skin color from newborn to a baby who had been going to tanning salon, super dark tan color with a jaundice yellow colored nose. The pictures would have been so cute if the photographer or company would not have ruined them. I cannot even frame these as they are odd. People laugh and keep asking me why the company ruined these pictures. So I shoved them in a drawer. read more
