As an August 2025 bride, we paid a deposit (in September 2024) and never received an update, email nor call. Later my mom and sister called the business, sent multiple emails, and we have still received no response. Fortunately, we had an invoice and item number - so we were able to contact local boutiques who helped us reach the Dress manufacturer. My wedding is in June 2025, and I came in to try on/order my dress at the end of July 2024, and it was ready towards the end of February 2025 (took about seven months, not bad for a designer dress!). From the moment I walked in, it felt like something straight out of a movie. Taylor was my stylist, and she was beyond wonderful -- so warm, welcoming, and made me feel completely comfortable trying on dresses (which can feel overwhelming at first!). She truly turned the appointment into a fun, confidence-boosting event. It was such a blast pulling dresses, modeling them, and feeling like the star of the show. Taylor also made sure my group felt included and pampered -- we were even treated to champagne, which made it all the more special! Jackie was there the day I picked up my dress, and she was such a sweetheart -- kind, patient, and genuinely excited for me. I wanted to go with my mom in my hometown and had previously gotten a bridesmaid dress from here, so I was looking forward to getting to dress shop here. I made an appointment well in advance and when I got there, there was another girl trying on wedding dresses in the main area. This meant, that for every dress I tried on, I had to try it on in the fitting room, walk past their little group, shuffle to the front of the store, and just look at myself in the propped up full length mirror. It was very discrepant in the way they treated us. She was constantly being fawned over and told she looked amazing in every dress, meanwhile, my consultant told me I would look good if I lost 5-10 lbs which shouldn't be hard for me. I don't know why I was treated so differently, if it was size, skin color, age, or something else but even though I tried on a dress I did like, I ended up getting my dress elsewhere, as I didn't want to support somewhere that would be so discriminatory and unkind. read more

And this was the first store we went to and at the moment I wasn't planning to buy and needed to check a few stores. Sarah the dear lady in there helped me with what I exactly wanted. The model of the dress was for 2024, they literally had 2 sizes in all US for showcase and getting orders. I got the size they had, did alteration, and it came out great. I definitely recommend them. I cannot recommend Bella Bridal to any bride looking for a stress-free and joyful dress shopping experience. What should have been one of the most exciting parts of my wedding planning turned into a nightmare. I purchased my wedding dress in March 2024 and was told it would arrive within 8 months--plenty of time before my May 2025 wedding. As the months went by with no update, I began to grow concerned. By January 2025, I reached out and was reassured it would arrive by the end of March or early April. I called, left voicemails, and messaged on Instagram to get updates--communication was sparse and unprofessional. Eventually, I was told my dress would arrive by May 3rd and scheduled a fitting, even though my wedding is on May 25th. The day before my appointment, they called to say the dress hadn't arrived and they didn't know where it was. I was shocked and heartbroken. I told them I could only wait until Tuesday--just over two weeks from my wedding--because I'd now have to pay for rushed alterations. Tuesday came and went with no dress. They promised again it would arrive by Saturday. It is now May 10th, and the dress I ordered 14 months ago is still missing. Not only has Bella Bridal failed to deliver on their promises, but their lack of urgency and poor communication have left me scrambling at the last minute. Our experience at Bella Bridal Couture in Thousand Oaks started off well. As a walk-in appointment, we were warmly welcomed, and our daughter found her wedding gown that same day. We paid in full - over $2,200 - at the time of purchase in Summer 2024. We were told the dress would arrive in early Spring 2025 for a July 2025 wedding. Unfortunately, the service after that point was extremely disappointing: Spring came and went with no update from the store. **Multiple phone calls and voicemails went unanswered **A scheduled "try-on" appointment (with family flown into town to participate) was never confirmed or acknowledged - the special "try on" date came and went **When we finally received a call back from a staff member, she was unable to provide any information about the gown's status sharing that "she'd like to help us but isn't informed of any details by the owner" Then, five weeks before the wedding, we received a call - NOT from Bella Bridal, but from a wholesaler who we've never heard of. They informed us THEY had our daughter's wedding gown but could NOT ship it to us unless we paid them directly...!? This was shocking, considering we had already PAID BELLA BRIDAL COUTURE IN FULL last Summer!!!! The wholesaler explained that Bella Bridal placed several order(s) but did NOT remit payment when the gown(s) were ready to ship. Instead, they were told to contact us - the customers - directly for payment. In other words, Bella Bridal accepted our full payment last year, but failed to pay the designers when the gowns were ready to ship out, and essentially our gown was held hostage unless/until we could BUY IT AGAIN directly from the wholesaler. Our heads were spinning. This appears to be part of a larger cash flow issue: Bella Bridal is allegedly continuing to accept payments from customers while refusing to fulfill financial obligations to vendors on the back end. The complete lack of communication and accountability throughout this process has been extremely concerning. We urge other brides and families to proceed with caution! Research recent reviews online and ask direct questions about HOW dress orders and payments are handled. Our hope is that sharing our experience helps others avoid the stress, anxiety and uncertainty we've faced during a very important time in our Daughter's life. read more

I got engaged June 5, 2021 and I had my first ever wedding gown try on experience at Bella Bridal in early July 2021 and it was magical! They were very accommodating and had exactly what I was looking for- a Belle fantasy a line meets ball gown dress with buttons in the back and lace on the top. I found one that is my top choice right now, I cried when I put it on and had that "Say yes to the dress moment". I could imagine myself as a bride in that dress. The whole experience was surreal for me in how great it was. I was hesitant about dress shopping because I was afraid they would not have anything I could try on (I am a dress size 14-16). I looked ahead on their website and they said they keep different sizes to try on including plus sizes. The ones I tried on were not exactly my size, as is common in wedding dress shopping but I could still try them on and not feel like they were way too small. I had the whole salon to myself and I was able to pick out dresses to try on with clips and they made fabulous suggestions of dresses to try on. The ladies that helped me Anastasia and Shawna were all I could ask for - they got my style right away. They provided us with water and champagne. Five stars! I am astonished at the lack of response from Melissa and this business. Let me start by saying Sarah, the stylist who helped me was amazing. This review is no reflection on her. I came in April, found the prefect dress and they assured me it would get to me by mid August. I get married in a month AND I STILL HAVE NO UPDATES. Mind you, I live in the Bay Area and requested that my dress get shipped to me. I called first week of August got no update and was told to call back a week later. I kept following up and to no avail still had 0 answers. I was told the stylists give all measurement info to the shop owner who then places the orders, so they had no updates to give because she handles it all. I finally got a missed phone call from AN UNKNOWN NUMBER last week. Come to find out it was Melissa who left a VM saying she had updates on when my dress would ship. She requested that I call her back on Tuesday so we can schedule it. I called her shop right at opening and NO ANSWER! I called 3-4 more times and it would ring, then go to voicemail. I asked my sister in law to stop by the shop to see if she can get some answers in person. Upon arrival, the doors were locked with a sign that said "Out of office". ARE YOU JOKING?! I'm beyond frustrated, as are a bunch of other brides based on these reviews. I didn't spend thousands of dollars on a dress to then be ignored and disregarded! I didn't hear back from her at all! Imagine a soon to be bride and already paid 60% of my dress and not getting any answers or at least an update. This stressful situation sent me to the Doctors my stress and anxiety was so bad that no bride should ever go through this, so after this I called Bella Bridal again and made sure they were aware of what this situation caused me do to them not responding. Of course after this message an employee at Bella called me and apologized and told me to go in on Aug 22nd that they were trying their best to have my dress that day. I went on the 22nd and my dress was there. I go to pay the rest of the dress and my veil. They were trying to charge me for my veil that I was not taking with me because it had not yet arrived to Bella Bridal. I did not pay for the veil and until now no one ever called me to tell me if the veil arrived. All I can say is don't fall for this place be careful. I would think the amount of money I spend here plus the alterations that are separate and not cheap. I would think the owner Melissa would do a better job in costumer service and in her communication skills cause honestly she is horrible. I just got my dress yesterday 9/16/2024 from VIP alterations and my wedding is 9/21/2024 so think about it before you go to Bella Bridal Couture cause the anxiety and stress is no joke! I gave one star for the dress that I was able to buy off rack for 30% off in January of 2024. I bought the dress and used their layaway to pay it off bit by bit. I went to pick up the dress in October and was told the veil would arrive "soon". My wedding was November 10th and despite calling repeatedly (at least 3x per week) and going in person the week before my wedding to ask for the veil, I was told that my calls had not been returned because voicemails are not checked and my veil was not in yet. Against my better judgement, I left without a veil believing it would be ready the week of the wedding as I had been told. I said yes to my dress last week and could not be more thrilled with the outcome. Sarah and Sophia are the KINDEST women and they were so helpful. It felt like I was hanging out with two friends, even though I had just met them for the first time that night. They listened to my needs of wanting sleeves and a tight fit, and after my fifth dress, I landed on my favorite one. It is all lace and I even went with the headband and veil that Sarah suggested! With my wedding being in June, I had figured I may have to get a floor sample of a dress because of the time frame, but we were assured & PROMISED this dress was possible and I would get it in 2-4 weeks with expedited shipping, paid for complementary by Bella bridal to ensure it got here with time to spare. After I selected the dress, they had me put a down payment of over half the dress. After this I heard NOTHING. 2-4 weeks came and went with no dress or no word. I would call and ask for tracking numbers, for Melissa or anyone to call me, I'd leave messages, write emails and no word but a bunch of excuses when a sales rep accidentally answered my calls. The final straw was when they promised me it finally came last week and scheduled me a fitting. My mom and I excitedly took off work only to be told the day before it never came. With a MONTH now before my wedding and no dress and no word from the owner, I asked for a refund so I can scramble get another dress somewhere else. The owner will not return my calls, no one will refund my down payment of the dress. This place is a scam and has taken a hefty down payment from me! So not only did they not give me my dress and completely ruined any chance of a zen bridal experience, but now I can't get my down payment back on a product they never delivered! While I did get my dress in time for alterations, I would not recommend this place to buy your wedding dress. The stress I was put through is not worth it. In the beginning, it was fun! I worked with a sweet young lady who helped me try on many dresses and I placed my order. I was at first told it would take about 8 months to make. After 8 months, I heard nothing. I thought maybe they were delayed so I gave it more time. As it got closer to my wedding date, by October, I started to panic. I called and left messages, sent emails, and never got any responses. I went into the store and was told I'd get a call back later in the day, and never got a response. It was frustrating! On the day I was supposed to try on the dress, I called to confirm my try on appointment and assumed my dress had made it to the store. It has not, and I drove 50 miles, from Ojai, to make it in time for my appointment. The woman that answered the phone never told me that it hasn't even come in yet, even though it really was just on the truck showing "out for delivery". That part was less the shop's fault, as FedEx was delayed. But I would have liked to know if I could come in for my appointment!! The owner needs better communication!!! The ladies working the shop need to be informed of when dress orders were placed to the dressmakers, when the dresses are expected to arrive, etc., so when customers call to ask about status updates, they can give accurate responses. read more

I went to Bela Bridal for one of my two dresses ( main gown), I ordered my dress a month earlier than needed to be purchased in December. When placing my order I was told it would be in July of next year, for my late September wedding. Once it got closer to my dress's arrival I started reaching out to the shops, I was assured over email my dress would be due in July. Once July had come I started reaching out more, email was okay but phone was not so much. Each time the shop would say we will let you know when it's here. Then the last week of July the shop informed me my dress should land maybe Friday and they would call me. Friday came and went I tried reaching out and at this point, somehow communication began to slip even more. The dress is now past the date/month I was originally given with very little communication on the shop's end. I'm going to try to keep this short, this is over a month of poor communication that led to very high stress. I kept having pretty much the same situation happen two or three more times. I would call multiple times and never get a callback. I had to go into the store multiple times because they would not pick up my phone calls or answer my emails and we were past my dress's arrival date. I was given three maybe four different dates that they said my dress would land. The date would come and go with no communication efforts made on the shop's side, I would never reach out even when the date passed. I would have to call and call or show up in person to get the same excuse. One answer that really stuck out was when we showed up in person I was told that they were not getting voicemails. Another time I felt like I confirmed they were avoiding my calls, I had tried multiple times to call the shop when I was supposed to be called by them about my dress landing (I was on the way to get my second dress from a different shop I had ordered a month later, I had really started to get stressed at that point) but never was called (like normal). I had to be the one to reach out. I called on my cell a few times no answer so I immediately called on my friend's cell and they picked up for her right away. From my perspective when they pick the phone up and heard it was me, it seemed like an ooo shit moment asked for a moment on hold. All in all my dress came in around August 23 almost 30 days out from my wedding. My dress needed major alterations that the shop knew about. So getting it that close was not a pleasant experience I was not sure if I have a dress for a good period of time. The communication with the shop was the worst part of the wedding overall hands down, it was so bad I even ended up buying a third dress off the rack. The dress landed on 8/23 the last day before I was going to take my backup into alteration and not receive the dress. It seemed like took me asking about what my rights were to cancel the order and get a refund or really any level of communication to get kind of started but was never professional for any setting let alone bridal in my opinion. One tip-off for me from the start was they never had a tracking number, getting three dates that the dress never arrived or was called back on made me think they were just lying to get me to go away. I think it is worth sharing that since this started I have learned of two other brides who have had the same problems, just through work I would not consider this a one-off but a pattern. I do work indirectly with the wedding industry and was shocked by their communication I would not recommend going to them. If you want one of the designers they carry there are other shops locally or close to it go there instead. read more

I went into Bella Bridal Couture in April to find my wedding dress. I had a wonderful experience trying on dresses and said YES to the dress. My wedding is in October so with only 6 months to find and receive my dress I was very stressed. The stylist assured me that I would receive my dress the last week of August/ first week of September which meant I have plenty of time for alterations. They really made me feel at ease and I left feeling great about my purchase. I called Bella Bridal in July and requested an update, once again I was reassured that my dress was scheduled to arrive on time. I never received any additional updates. I started calling and leaving messages the week of September 9 and couldn't get a call back. I even drove to the store to find that it was closed with a sign that said they were in a private appointment. After many many messages and visits to the store I finally was able to speak with the owner, Melissa on September 21st. She stated that my dress was scheduled to arrive the following Tuesday, September 24 and gave me her direct cell phone number but asked that I text her not call because she doesn't take calls. On Tuesday, September 24 I texted her to confirm my dress had arrived and she stated that the designer had shipped her the wrong dress. At that point I demanded that she have my dress overnighted or give me a full refund equal to the amount I had paid towards my dress. Melissa has not only caused me so much stress but she is also rude, lacks customer service skills and empathy for her clients to whom she causes so much unnecessary stress. Today I finally received my dress with only 4 weeks until my wedding. I already missed my first appointment for alterations so now I'll have to pay more to rush the alterations. When I picked up my dress today and asked Melissa for a discount on the remaining balance she denied my request and said "you have your dress and you have 4 weeks to get alterations." Not receiving updates on the status of my dress or getting a call back for weeks was an awful experience and I WILL NEVER recommend Bella Bridal Couture to any bride. STAY AWAY !!! THIS PLACE COMPLETELY SCREWED ME OVER WITH MY WEDDING DRESS !! I went in with family, tried one on I loved and the woman helping us "took my measurements" so she could "order one specially made for my size". There were details about the fit that I was concerned about and I was reassured with details of what could be done my a tailor to make small alterations to fix it. Because the dress was beautiful and I was assured that it would be made for my body and my measurements I said yes ! I was told the dress would be here in x amount of time and it didn't come until a couple months later. When it arrived I tried it on and noticed the top was still very big on me, would not oven stay on my body, and would immediately fall off my shoulders. I was assumed it could be fixed with alterations. It was my mistake trusting everything they said because I took it to get altered, got 2 different opinions, and both tailors were shocked that it was "ordered to my size". For reference I have a very small chest (size A) and the dress cup size is a C. The tailors explained to me that it would by very difficult to make it fit me do to its design and the fact that it's backless. They both attempted to show me what they could do and it still wouldnt fit me. One trailor showed me that the only way I could keep it from falling off of me was to change the straps to a halter top which totally changed the look of the dress. I called the store to tell them all of this and that I was very unhappy and I was told "sorry it's your problem now...just try to sell it online.
