I had an appointment for a fitting here and was thoroughly impressed with the customer service , patience, and willingness to assist in any way that the staff showed me. From making my appt the week before to the day of my appt every employee was courteous and able to provide me with all the answers to my questions. As a plus size woman, bridesmaid dress fitting can be a little overwhelming, but Elizabeth ( who I realized at the end of the appt is actually the owner of this location) was so sweet and really wanted me to find the fit that would work best for me. Their dresses are extremely overpriced and I received terrible customer service when trying to arrange the pickup of my dress. For context, the bride and other bridesmaids are based out of DC but I made a fitting appointment and ordered my dress from the Richmond location. At the time of my in store order, the consultant said that I was good to go and they'd call me when my dress arrived in Richmond. Fast forward almost 6 months later, after trying to track my dress down over the past two weeks (I received an email on 3/10 saying my order had arrived and they would be shipping them out to us the next day), the DC office said they had the dress and apologized for the mixup and told me to send them an I address so they could ship it to me, there was NO mention of an additional charge or that they would not ship the dress to another Bella location. Today, they informed me that it would be an additional $26.50 for them to ship the dress to my home address as they do NOT ship dresses between locations. It's absolutely ridiculous that this information was NEVER communicated to me at any point during this process and I will be highly discouraging my friends and family from using Bella in the future. read more

Bella Bridesmaids is a nice local shop that has gorgeous bridesmaid gowns. I selected a gown with the help of Elizabeth, among other staff members. Unfortunately, my gown was discontinued on 1/1/17 and I wasn't notified by the shop. I only found out when one of my bridesmaids went to go order the dress and was notified (at the D.C. Branch) that the dress had been discontinued. My wedding wasn't until June so by the grace of God I was able to select another dress and received them all on time. A few things to note: - I would always make an appointment, walking in is possible but there are many staff members so they may not be able to drop what they are doing to help you. - This shop does not do alterations. If your dresses need to be altered you will have to go to a separate shop. read more

In a sea of taffeta, tulle, and sequins, Bella Bridesmaid is a refreshing gem that knocks all bridesmaid dress stereotypes out of the water. I'm thrilled to have found Bella Bridesmaids, but it was a bit of a journey to get there: After scouring the internet and visiting multiple bridal boutiques, I still wasn't sold on a dress for my girls. Who knew it would be so hard to find a non-strapless, full-length bridesmaid dress? Certainly not me. I was thisclose to just choosing a regular dress from a clothing boutique when my MOH and I discovered TwoBirds. What's TwoBirds, you ask? Oh just the most amazing convertible dress that can be worn almost 20 different ways and only comes in two sizes, therefore cutting down on alteration costs (if not eliminating them completely). Once we found this designer/dress online, we knew we had to see it in person. Enter Bella Bridesmaids. One quick internet search revealed that this adorable bridesmaid dress boutique located in the Libbie & Grove area carries TwoBirds. (many cheers inserted here). They also carry other designers, like Monique Lhuillier, Lulakate, Joanna August, and other designers that will make your girls happy... but I was all about the TwoBirds collection. My first visit sealed the deal and I knew I'd found the perfect bridesmaid dress! I've been back a few times since, with my MOH and one of my bridesmaids, and every experience has been fantastic. I've worked with owner Elizabeth every time, and communicated with her via email as well, and she is responsive, professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly sweet. I really can't imagine this being a better experience. I absolutely recommend Elizabeth and Bella Bridesmaid to anyone searching for a bridesmaid dress that will have your friends thanking you! Oh, and their ordering process? So easy. It's all done online, so you just shoot out an email with instructions to your bridesmaids and they can fill it out from the comfort of their couch. Located in an adorable blue house on the corner of Grove and Granite, Bella shares the space with another shop, but the downstairs houses the bridesmaid attire and accessories. There's also a small lot out back, so no need for any parking woes! Easy to make an appointment, easy to find, easy to work with, and a collection that's (more than) easy on the eyes. My Maids of Honor and I really loved this place. I frankly don't understand the bad rating. 2.5 stars? Really? The only reason I knocked a star off is because the prices are marked up to the high heavens. That's the only reason why we won't be purchasing our dresses here. I saw the same dresses online for much, much cheaper. But, we had a great time at our appointment trying on so many dresses from amazing brands. My sister, 4 of her bridesmaids, and I came in on a Tuesday in late June. We were immediately greeted and was told exactly how everything worked. Bella wanted to cater to bridesmaids while making sure the bride got exactly what she wanted. After asking questions about the theme of the wedding, the different girls personalities, and overall what my sister liked and absolutely did not like Annie started to pull some dresses. She instantly got a feel for my sisters style preference and what she was envisioning for her wedding. Since my sister wanted to do different styles and different colors I am sure that was little more difficult on the consultant, but she nailed it. Annie was very honest and upfront about styles on different body types and colors on different tones (of course we asked for her opinion). We chose our dresses for the small village of people that my sister has as bridesmaids, we quickly were measured and explained sizing charts and fits. The process went very smooth, we were able to all order as a group online and were notified immediately when the dresses came in. I can say this, yes you can probably find dresses that are cheaper somewhere else or online. But, i can GUARANTEE that they will not be the quality of the dresses offered at Bella. Not only are you paying for an amazing dress, you are paying for an amazing experience with a professional who really knows what they are talking about. I will definitely be wearing my dress again, and purchasing from Bella Bridesmaids in the future.! read more

I've never actually been to this location, but I did call there the other day and had a conversation with Gabrielle (sorry if I misspelled!). I live in Northern VA and set my online shop up with the DC store. My sister/MOH is closest to this location and needed to have her measurements done ASAP. When she called to schedule, she was told that she couldn't get in until the middle of November. I decided I would call down there to express some urgency and Gabrielle moved appointments around for this weekend and got my sister in. Shout out to Gabrielle and Bella Bridesmaids for coming through for me! I ordered a dress online that took forever to ship, then arrived in the wrong color. (Every bridesmaids' worst nightmare). And at this point the wedding was two weeks away no less. After much searching on Poshmark, Amazon and the like, I decided to reach out to some bridal shops to see if they could help a girl out and let me purchase a dress off the rack. I had the pleasure of messaging Gabrielle back and forth a couple times, then made the drive out the following day. The salon is beautifully appointed, very well lit and cheery. The staff was very kind and accommodating in helping me find a great dress. I was so pleased to find the most gorgeous dress in the color I needed in their sample sale! I can't recommend them enough. I only hope that I have the pleasure of working with them again in the future, though hopefully not in an emergency situation! Went with the bride and saw her and the rest of us bridesmaids initially picking out dresses ourselves with minimal input from our consultant who seemed nice but then received help from one of the other consultants who proceeded to tell the bride she should come back after looking at Pinterest and Instagram for other dresses...assuming the bride didn't do that already. The same person suggested we (3 girls) share one dressing room while the other party had 3 rooms. We all drove from out of town (at least 3 hours away) and felt rushed towards then end before the next party even arrived. read more

I used the Richmond store for my own wedding and then ordered through them again for a friends wedding. Having 12 bridesmaids, and most being out of state, it was great to have someone I could trust. All dresses were delivered on time and all my bridesmaids said the order process was easy and they were very pleased with their dresses. I had a great experience when ordering through the store for a friends wedding. Great customer service, great store. I would definitely recommend! read more

I bought nine dresses at this establishment. One of the dresses was too small. The store was not willing to help in anyway. Their suggestion was to put on spans. The dress was to tight to put anything under it. The store said the person measurements had gotten about 1/2 bigger. My thinking is the person did not take the measurements the same as the first time. At this store the customer is right is not true, it is more the person working there is right and all they can say is sorry. take your business elsewhere, you will be glade you did. read more

I really do not understand the concept of this store. You order a designer gown and get measured for a dress to be made. The dress is then made in a standard size, sort of. You are charged for a designer dress made in an off the rack size. Except an off the rack dress would have fit much, much better. For the price and considering the dress is being made, why can't they build to order??? No alterations are done in house. No alteration shops recommended. My dress shows up and fits like it was made for a super hero, small waist, HUGE bodice and the fit is absolutely horrific, the $120.00 in alterations make it worse. I contacted Bella Bridesmaid and asked for advice, either for a recommendation for a seamstress who could help with the dress or for them to reach out to the designer and ask for advice for my seamstress. Five days later I'm told the designer wasn't much help and they can recommend a tailor. Well the wedding is 8 days away now, maybe the tailor should have been recommended from the start. I have a $370.00 dress that I hope I'll be able to wear in the wedding. The bride may just ask me not to be in it once she see's me in the dress. Extremely dissappointed. I wish I could include a picture. Also, they do not show reviews on their website or on their Facebook page. Hmm... Wonder why? The store is nothing but a middle man, no real service offered other than helping you choose a dress, taking some measurements and ordering it. If value, service and satisfaction matter to you, I would strongly suggest avoiding Bella Bridesmaid. read more
