When we first reached out to Bella Figura for a consultation, we had no idea what we really wanted for our invites. In the initial consultation (which was 1.5 hours!) Mariana gave us good advice and ideas on how to bring our love story, taste, and needs to life. We were so happy with the experience that we chose Bella Figura (after shopping around at other vendors) for our invitations. Mariana is very professional and communicative. She has a wealth of knowledge in the industry and gave her honest opinion on certain aspects, such as paper type, style, etc. We appreciated it, since it showed us that she knows what works and what doesn't, as opposed to some vendors that said "anything you want!" As someone who geeks out over beautiful paper and typography, I knew that finding the right place to create our wedding invitations would be a priority for me. Luckily, I kept coming across Bella Figura, and decided to schedule an appointment at their UES location. We met with Mariana, who walked us through the letterpress process and the many different customizations available--everything from types of paper, ink and foil colors, belly bands, wax seals, custom artwork, calligraphy, etc. Seeing all of the different samples in person helped us get an initial idea of what we were looking for, and Mariana was able to give us quotes for a couple different options. She really took the time to make sure we knew the wide range of possibilities, and sent us home with a stack of samples. Our designer, Meaghan, was wonderful and super patient with us during the proof process. We were a little indecisive, so having her guidance on choosing typefaces and layout was invaluable. We loved that we had the option to submit our own artwork, as we were able to create something very personal, but Bella Figura's own library of motifs is gorgeous too. The team was very helpful with questions of wording/etiquette, and the way you submit guest addresses is really straightforward. The production time for the invitations is fairly quick (and there are rush options available). We received ours recently, and the quality of the final product is incredible. We chose a mix of ink and foil stamping on cotton paper, and they look truly special. We are so excited to send these out to our guests! A note on pricing: letterpress or custom invitations are never going to be the cheapest option, and for something that a lot of people will probably toss out, it may not be a priority for everyone. However, a Bella Figura invitation will definitely leave a lasting impression on your guests and set the tone for your wedding, if that's what you are looking for. What you're getting for the price is a unique, beautiful product printed in NY using green printing methods, as well as excellent customer service and design. I looked at so many invitation companies, from the cheaper catalogue ones to the fanciest letterpress or hand written ones and I am very pleased I ended up with Bella Figura. They have fantastic prices for letterpress and the final product was amazing. I love that I was able to personalize everything. I even had the text for my invitations hand written by a calligrapher to make the model for the letterpress for no extra charge! My contact was so sweet and never gave me a hard time about wanting to change something, even if it was a little, seemingly insignificant thing. My fiance and I used Bella Figura after my friend (Emily R.) used them for her wedding. I loved her invitations, and she had such great things to say about them. When I went on the website, I was blown away by the design options. The only warning I have is, once you decide on a pattern, don't look on their website again because they are always coming up with new and beautiful designs! We were completely set to order, and then the day we went on to place our order, we saw that they had about 15 new designs! We ended up going with one that they had just come out with. Seriously, some really beautiful and unique stuff. They are also really responsive to emails, and have a quick turn around for the previews. You get 3 rounds of changes, and they send you a full color PDF so you can get a feel for what your color choices and font choices will look like. They also send you samples that they charge you for, but then can deduct from your order if (probably more like WHEN) you order from them. It all comes beautifully packaged in a chocolate brown box. When you order your samples they include all of the different papers, colors, etc. so that you can see them live and in color. You are assigned a specific staff person to work with, and as mentioned above, they are really great and patient about answer your questions. I can't say enough great things about them! read more

Most of the styles from these places were typical wedding invitations. They were boring and forgettable. We wanted something different while also being price conscious. My fiancé forwarded an email with a promotion they were having for their "design of the month." The "Modern Garden" design was perfect for our outdoor, summertime wedding. That sparked an interest and we started looking at all the options. We started a conversation with Jessica, a client coordinator and she was very helpful. We asked her countless questions, but she was always patient with us and very helpful in helping us assemble our perfect wedding invitation ensemble. Lindsy, our wedding invitation designer, was also very insightful and responsive. Despite the fact that Bella Figura is located in New York and my fiance and I reside in California, communicating with them was very easy. They were always prompt to respond via telephone or email. In addition to producing high-quality and unique letterpress wedding invitations, it was also reassuring to know that the company itself is eco-friendly and socially conscious. The turnaround time from ordering to actually receiving the invitations was much faster (10 business days) than other invitation stores. The people that work in the NYC UES store are great - very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful - they could not be better. They know more about paper, calligraphy and small details (how to address sending to 2 people not married but live together, etc.). The woman I worked with, Linda (Thanks Linda!!!) with was patient, explained everything to me and tried to help keep (keyword help) me within budget. This level of expertise was helpful. Anyways, for those of you out there planning a wedding on a budget, hit the back button now! This place is SUPER expensive (#Iblewmybudget). My friends jaws actually dropped when I told them the cost per invitation/return invitation. I also reluctantly took the no frills path (no foil, all computer printed route, cheapest "nice" paper, had a return postcard instead of card/envelope), and I am still horrified at the final bill. HOWEVER they turned out truly spectacular and we received many rave reviews, so far as that someone made a memory glass box with our invitation as the center with some sand and shells from our (beach) wedding, which is meaningful and is something you cannot put a price tag on. 3 things that really bothered me... The Learning Curve! I didn't want this to be a joint effort. We had to obtain stock images they did not have that we wished to use ourselves - we had a page in the passport book with passport "stamps" - literally start to finish we had to find (thank you Google) and pay for the high res images we wanted to use and adhere to specific image sizing guidelines. So I spend $70 and a few hours educating myself and doing that. For the price of the invitations and not knowing what the hell I was doing (and that they didn't have what I needed in their library of images), I thought that they should have covered that - the searching and cost. I obviously am never going to use these images I purchased again, whereas them doing it, they could add them to their library. Paper "types" were not on site - samples were mailed to you (and you had to wait, etc.) rather than just being able to see them while in design mode in the store and pick it out and move on. The PRICE I got my thank you cards/envelopes from Wedding Paper Divas which were 13% (yes, I calculated) of the cost of my wedding invitations and you can surely see a difference...but not sure enough to justify the cost. Yes, it is the lovely Upper East Side of Manhattan, but everything is printed in Syracuse NY. For anyone with half a brain cell you understand you're paying NYC premium for a product that only the storefront is in NYC. They must be making a killing. I've contemplated starting to make invitations for a living. Rush fee was basically 50% of your total bill. That's bonkers and I am pretty sure a nice way of saying "you better apologize you even asked!" Billing as I remember it always seemed "off." I dealt with someone Kyle who was pretty "cold" and almost robotic. Overall very satisfied with the product, but still uneasy about the price and value. #mixedfeelings read more

It took us a while to find the right wedding stationery company but when we finally found Bella Figura they were everything we were hoping for and more! Their designs are truly elegant without being stuffy or sparse--really delicate, creative, vibrant, and with a lot of variety and options to customize. The designs and papers are extremely fine quality and have a really special look. We started with a sample we saw in the store and customized it for font style and color. We ended up with the most beautiful floral invitations with subtle rose gold touches on oversize thick paper and envelopes with rose gold liners. The invitations feel elegant but also creative and unique. The pricing is on the higher end, but for what they offer it is truly much more reasonable than comparable companies, which, from my initial search, charged far more for far less. I am even more excited about these invitations than I even imagined and I know they will make an amazing introduction for our guests to what we hope our wedding will be. We worked with Su-Queen who was absolutely amazing in every way. She spent a lot of time answering our questions and giving thoughtful guidance--she's really an expert in this, both regarding design and etiquette (which designs make sense together or not, options for wording for the invitations etc). She was extremely attentive but also gave us time to look through and think about the samples on our own to make our own decisions. The coordination of the shipment/delivery was seamless as well, as was the responsiveness to emails as we were sorting through our designs and our final order. Yikes. My fiance and I used Bella Figura for save the dates and the process was a nightmare. We went to the store for two in person meetings where every detail of what we wanted was discussed and recorded in our files. Or so we thought. Upon arriving at our second meeting to clarify some of the smaller details, we were told they couldn't find our file and that we needed to start over. After our second meeting we were then sent a link that we were asked to approve - all of the details included in the link (which were just discussed in person) were completely wrong. After adjusting everything ourselves and submitting the contract, we didn't hear from them for a week. When we contacted them to ask what had happened, they didn't know what to say and made us start over for a 3rd time. In our opinion, it's worth paying these type of prices if the service is up to par, however in our experience, the service at Bella Figura is sub-par at best. Planning a wedding is stressful enough. Don't add to the headache by working with a vendor that can't communicate internally. read more

I met with Mariana in the store and she was incredibly patient, kind and beyond helpful. Together, she guided me through the entire process. I just went into Bella Figura on the Upper East Side. The store was empty besides the two older ladies who work there. I had to speak to them since they didn't greet me. I asked about custom Save The Dates. I was told they only took appts (the website says walk ins welcome) and they were fully booked today. So I asked for the next available appt, and after being told they are fully booked tomorrow too, she found an open appt. As I'm at the counter, another couple walks in and are instantly greeted. They did not have an appointment. The other lady proceeds to help them. Wait...I thought you were completely booked today? I don't want to say this was a race issue, but I found this to be completely discriminatory. My fiancé and I had a great experience at Bella Figura. I had heard about them through wedding websites like Style Me Pretty and Carats and Cake but assumed they would be stuffy and out of my price range. I was so surprised when I walked in to find that they were incredibly down to earth, easy to work with, and not pushy at all. I wasn't sure how much invitations should cost so I went to a local stationary store where my parents live in New Jersey to do a price comparison. Bella Figura's pricing for letterpress was much more reasonable and they had way more options in the way of font, paper and envelope lining. We worked with Su-Queen who was amazing about listening to our vision and helping us execute it (and patient about our many questions and last minute changes). Then we can across Bella Figura and voila, their design of the month was, with a few modifications, exactly what were were looking for! With the 10% off for the design of the month + the 10% off for 6+ pieces, they were (significantly) less than other letterpresses we were looking at. Plus, the quality of the paper was unbeatable. I ordered both our save the dates and wedding invitations from Bella Figura. We got the save the dates and they were perfect, so we went ahead with the invites. We worked with Andrea and I was a little unsure about what color ink to use and since we were using an invitation with a lot of color, I wanted it to be right. She recommended one color and I decided to go with another; mistake. But when I got the invitations and the color I chose was wrong, she reprinted them using the right color and rushed the delivery so we could send them out on time. She was fabulous and so sweet!
