Woman was a bit rude as I explained my time is important and if they expect my $$ they'd be respectful and courteous enough to be on time, not at their convenience. She said "he's probably on his way. I'll get him on the phone." I said don't bother, just cancel my request because if you can't be on time for a quote you probably won't get the job done either. She somewhat rudely replied,"we never make specific appointment times" to which I interrupted her to advise Destiny who did specifically say 9am. Calvin Ray Johnson/ PowerMax will start a job, then fail to finish despite being paid in full. They told me two weeks for a project and 2 months later they still had not finished (most of their work must be redone to code) The crew comes in, does a little work and makes it look like things are progressing. What is left is a big mess and big hole in out bank account. Calvin Ray Johnson assured us they could/ would in a written contract procure proper permits, which they cannot since they are not licensed to do such. We must have much of their work redone because it was shoddy and not done to code. Again, avoid using PowerMax Renovations LLC or C J Renovations (Calvin Ray Johnson's other unlicensed company offering the same services). There is no review button on the Facebook page; which is why I presume all bad reviews are found on other websites. Please do not use this company, Calvin Ray Johnson intentionally defrauded us, and stole our money. We have submitted complaints with Better Business Bureau, LARA and The Attorney General to investigate his fraudulent business practices. He made it too large so when you're sitting on the toilet, your shoulders will touch the outer drywall from the shower. The floor doesn't slope towards the drain so we constantly have standing water in the shower. He left a HUGE mess for my wife and I to clean up. I asked if he could install a new bathroom exhaust fan and he said he'd have his electrician do it and he didn't install it correctly so I had to fix it. Stay away from Powermax!

I needed full demo of the back part of my home, a rat wall on the exterior wall, waterproofing, regrading, and reconstruction (insulation, drywall, paint, floors, etc.). I reached out and gathered estimates from more than 15 places in the area. Every other contractor didn't seem to grasp the complexities of the work I was trying to get quoted, but I could tell James completely understood and listened to me. His price was also very fair. He made the whole process straightforward. When a couple unexpected problems came up, he explained the situation to me and provided me with fair options. Update to the Homebase Saga a piece of siding fell of both sides of house, the first time fixed it no issue, then all of a sudden the one piece they fixed fell again and because I didn't notice it until my neighbor pointed it out ( faces his house )I called about it and after a week and a half got a call back ( within the week and a half more pieces fell off because of winds and now I'm told there will be a charge) mind you we're still under 2 years of completion date. I wouldn't recommend them to an enemy of mine. Maybe just maybe The owner will step up and I'll adjust my review but for now it will not be changed
