The design looked amazing and the install team did an amazing job of turning that into a reality. The experience was very smooth, despite a few changes that needed to be addressed when we were able to see how the plumbing was set-up by the builder. This place is family owned and operated for generations, so customer service is outstanding. The quality of the carpet and the broad selection at Riemer is second to none. We have tried shopping at Lowe's, Home Depot, Costco, empire, etc. and the quality and selection (and value for the money) is just not there. Ps karistan is the best brand of carpet, in my opinion. It's beautiful, it's soft and it holds up well with regular cleaning (modernistic). We had an off-white carpet for 17 years with children and pets and other than a few spots, it's still pretty amazing. lastly: great value for the money. They have good sales. A tip: consider going for a mid grade carpet in the highest grade padding! Unless all you care about is truly lowest price, you will be very very happy with Riemer floors.

Bought second floor carpeting after living with Karastan for over 30 years with no problems, just…read moreneeded a change in color. The nightmare begins, during COVID time frame carpet laid turned out to be from different color lots, manufacturers agreed to replacement. The second carpet was laid with a "shear" defect, that is a grove cit into the middle of carpet that looks like a one inch racing stripe. I asked how can this happen, didn't anybody at Reimer look at the carpet rolls prior to installation ? I guess not. Reimer offered a "settlement" which I foolishly accepted because being near 70 years old, I couldn't move all the furniture on the second floor for the third time. The problems soon started with the second carpet, ripples started to appear. it seems going forward , Riemer was going to charge to come out and look at ($75) the ripples and than charge for the repair. They have been out at least three times for ripples and over $500 dollars to take care of this issue. It seems to be a great profit stream because it was poor installation from I read on Google. just to add to this, areas that they had to de ripple, seem to be holding. but now the ripples are going to new areas . I feel like ripping out the mess and starting over with another merchant, I can't believe it's worth the money to have a endless cycle of restretching. Truely don't know what to do.

We finally decided to remodel our bathroom that was dated to the mid 1950s and chose Steeds…read moreRemodeling to bring us up to date. My wife did a bit of research in finding the right company to hire, and with the results she found online, Steeds was rated very good and thought we made a good decision by trusting them and their years of experience. However, it was a BAD decision on our part The more we started using our new bathroom, the more issues we notice with the quality of work we received, the angrier we get. - Bathroom north wall not being straight (~3/4" difference between top and bottom of wall) - Because the wall is not level, the heat exchange vent cover looks totally off balance. Very noticeable...... - Numerous wall tiles and floor tiles chipped - Numerous wall tiles not aligned or flush with adjacent tiles - Bullnose tiles out of whack as well, very noticeable - Floor not level, causing floor tiles not being level. You did come and replace some but in doing so the grout on the replaced tiles does not match the rest of the bathroom floor. The new grout is much darker causing it to look like it's always wet. - Floor tiles around the toilet not being level caused me to shimmy the toilet so it sits level. - Damaged bathtub. Large chip that even though we had the tub re- glazed, is still noticeable - Damaged front steel door Steeds Remodeling did offer to repair/replace the defected wall and tiles, but we couldn't have the bathroom down for any longer than it already had been and the follow up cleanup. It took us a while to save up the funds just for labor alone. What I'm saying is that for someone who's been in the business of tiling and remodeling for 17 years, the workmanship on our job does not reflect that at all, and the sub-par results was NOT worth what we have paid. During the entire project we treated Steeds with courtesy, respect, offered them water, even setting up a work bench outside so it would be easier for them. I do understand that business such as his do need to earn an income but the demolition and remodeling of our bathroom was not worth it. We did request a partial refund to which Steed remodeling did agree to. We have pictures to prove/verify our dissatisfaction.

He said he would call to set up an appointment the next morning when he was near his calendar. Didn't call the next morning, so i called him. We set up an appointment for the next week. He never showed. Didn't call. Just didn't show. So, while my review is not a review of the quality of work this company does, it IS a review of their complete lack of professionalism. I can only guess that this lack of professionalism extends to the work they do.

I called Mike again and he took the time to come out again and look at the project and explain in detail what was wrong and what he was going to do to fix it. For the amount of work and seriousness of this project, Mike's price was more than fair. He emailed me a detailed list of what work would be performed and the total. He was easy to reach by phone, always on time and just a really good, stand up guy.The house was built incorrectly from the beginning in 1977. Avalon had to come in and cut the basement floor, pour concrete, put in a new foundation pole, let it cure for a week, then jack up the house from the basement, put in a new header, put the house back down on the new pole/header. Then go to the first floor and again, jack the entire second floor up, tear out old warped header, put in two new headers in two different areas and then set the entire second floor back down on the new headers. Also, the subfloor was warped so they ripped out the subfloor, straightened everything out and put in new 1/2" plywood in the areas needed. Very, very professional. This was a very hard job and as you can imagine, I was worried beyond belief that I made the wrong choice in buying this home. Mike at Avalon made me feel secure.
